- Since you guys kept requesting for an updated video on how to root the samsung galaxy tab a 10.1 2016 t580, I went through the trouble to fix the errors on android 8.1 oreo. Everything should now be fine on the latest version of android for this tablet.

Note: I know this is a device specific tutorial and I have stopped such videos ever since the channel took off. But a lot of people have been requesting this video from the previous tutorials and I couldn't let them down. thanks dude it worked. fyi: the no-verifiy-opt file is expired but you can just download one from the internet. one of my steps differed from what you mentioned. to instal magisk zip, the new versions asks for it in the app without having to do it twrp.

Been wanting to root a tablet for multiple reasons now I have one the tablet is 4 years old so it didnt matter if it bricked or not but it's now rooted so thank you.

Tech Alpha we apparently have a couple of bugs that some of us are dealing with while we Beta test your Root for you. Although it runs great for the most part some people are experiencing minor difficulties. I have provided a fix for the Samsung Security Agent for people to take care of the issue where the device ask users to reboot. And I have noticed it often doesn't charge while in use. In the Developer Settings the USB Configuration does not move from MTP to Charge, (I've tracked it to there). There seems to be a difficulty with going to Download Mode and yields different issues. Redirection to a locked FRP. I've tried to replicate the issue only to be locked into Download Mode and can't flash nor leave.This last issue can be a little more than minor and can you look into it for us. Thanks, it's still a great root and does work rather well. Samsung said you couldn't use CF-Root, on the T580, good job showing them otherwise.
Sill works 4 years later. had to change some dowload likns to get newer vers of the files but it still works. thanks

Nice video! I've had a lot of problems with my tablet filling up the memory from all the bloat that Samsung put on, especially with the Microsoft programs. This go rid of all that. Thanks!

To keep the tablet from turning off when you boot, I believe you just need to go into the security settings and check the "boot from external sources" option. Remember, this is different from the OEM unlock option. They should both be turned on...

Does it essentially wipe your device when you root/unlock this tablet from a situation where you already used it?
I need to root my Galaxy Tab A6 10.1 2016 with Oreo, but I just want to clear the Root Cache's I don't really need or want to change OS or anything like that; but I have moved everything possible to the SD and still have virtually no internal storage because its so old. Any links or guidance as to how to best do this would be much appreciated. BB.

Hi, I tried this tutorial today. As it fits exactly to my old tablet. But I have prblems already after the first step with uploading TWRP with Odin on the Tablet. It doesn't reboot into TWRP, I always end up with an Android logo and the message "No Command" in German (the tablet is set on that language). Can anybody help me?
Hello my friend. Very nice video... If there are possibilities could you make a video on how to unroot/unbrick the sm-t580, I would like to root my device but i like to be on the safe side😊
Whenever flashing "unofficial" firmware it is highly recomended that you have the official stock firmware on hand (in a folder) in case you have problems and need to revert back. To unroot or even unbrick, you flash the stock firmware into the device using the Download mode. When the device is off, you boot into recovery by pressing power and volume down. To access Download mode (also when device is off), you press power and volume up. Use Odin 3.13. If you get a blank screen it's most likely because the bootloader is locked. In developer settings you will find "OEM unlock" which will unlock the bootloader. Also check USB Debugging.

@@TheVoidWithinMe it's not advised to go back to Android 7. To get to Android 8 it had to be repartitioned. Use the Oreo version. If you dont have that As soon as I'm home I'll put a link up to the firmware. Or would you rather have Android 9?

Worked good +1 like, after root I used "app disabler" to remove the annoying samsung security agent. Important : do not boot into startup setup(green one) or it will frp lock and you will need to bypass and install again all this process.
@@casmyoung I mean if after root complete, you enter the download setup it will frp lock, happened to me yestorday
@@randomgaming5332 This is the first time I've heard of this, or I'm confused? Once you complete the Root you restart the device. Since you were supposed to wipe cache and Davlik there is no user data. Once you restart you will enter startup. If you do not have the sign in credentials for Google, you will then be in FRP mode. This has nothing to do with the Rooting of the device.
@@casmyoung 1 day after I roooted I wanted to enter the download startup and tablet got frp locked.
@@casmyoung wtf are you talking about, you dont understand if after root process you want to go in download mode will FRP lock and you need to start the process all over again. The FRP lock on this tablet is when android OS starts to load and will refuse to load, have nothing to do with google, its on samsung firmware.
@@randomgaming5332 Your statement was kinda confusing. Now I understand. The Samsung sign in is for Samsung services and it is the Google sign in that enables FRP. I have tried to replicate your process and have a totally different issue. I'm stuck in Download mode where usually I can shut down just by the power button. This time I have to press the power and volume down to turn it off. This is somewhat odd! Apparently you may have found a bug. I'll do some checking and get back to you. Thanks for pointing this out. I have a question to clarify something. When you try to go to Download Mode, do you even get there for a moment or does it instantly redirect you to sign into Samsung or Google?

It’s not working when I go to the Odin three folder I don’t see or at least that it didn’t up until now it did not detect my tablet even though I had a USB cable and I had developer options I had USB debugging and I have my USB cable in and I’m in the odin the folder I did everything you said it’s not working

Im pretty damned sure they locked the bootloader on these, OEM unlock is nonexistent and tried all of the hidden OEM restore tricks Ive been able to find online so Im pretty sure this cant be accomplished but you obviously know your shit and Ill shit myself if you can figure out some kinda loophole along with a ton of other folks too I dont know why a patched odin program and preinstalled magisk patched ROM wouldnt work honestly but im far from from having any kind of developer status for real.. and swear ive done something very similar to this before with another device I rooted but I dunno, was earlier android version, security gets more and more difficult to find exploits around I know and weithout OEM unlock these days seems utterly hopeless.... Great tutorial again btw!!

hi is me again, magisk removes the root access to apps2sd and that's when apps2sd delete the linked applications, but when I open Magisk, the root access is on

How about rooting without data wipe.. that'a a whole different thing than plain rooting. What good is it if you wipe data when facing a problem which caused a boot loop error which in turn made you lose files by reinstalling the android system. If you wipe data you may not be able to recover deleted files from the boot loop error problem.
Was able to download one file, clicked allow, all the links in the doc require clicking allow, which is no longer there.
I wish you were more clear that it was going to erase everything,I saw format,and just thougt maybe it meant somthing else,so yea , i lost everything on my tablet. EDIT: Thank god i had a backup via cloud,though just for apps,and passwords. Its rooted,Thanks

Can someone confirm that this is 100%, working I really don't want to mess my Tab up again, took me ages to figure out how to flash back the stock firmware. I got blue lines and red lines the last time I tried it

@@NatMG If you Tablet is FRP Locked. I'll specify some FRP locks so we can get this right;Are you talking of the google sign in FRP lock or does your device say (in red letters) Custom Binary locked by FRP lock?

Will rooting enable the option to use mountable micro sd as internal storage?
Whenever I plug in my USB it says it can't recognize it but then I close out the Odin3 and my USB cable works

just cant make it into twrp or even the OS. It shows samsung initial screen for about 1 whole minute, then it flashes TWRP first screen for about 10 sec and the device restart
