I've been binge watching all these videos for the past week. So glad GCN did a video with you.
I'm in the same boat... thought a year later it seems. Got back into riding mid-pandemic but didn't really get the full on addiction until the beginning of 2021. Blew through a lot of the last few years of GCN stuff and saw his very short bit on the GCN Taiwan KOM video then a little later saw his segment with jpow and he talked about his channel.
Thank you Phil for making this video.....perfect! People like to see the houses becuase it's nice to see and learn how professional actors/actresses and pro athletes live......it's also a nice way to travel and see different areas by watching these video's so thank you and your friends for the efforts taken

Nice video!! I like it - as well as your book. I have been riding on this road with a FatBoy on May 24th. 1999 after Heike and me married on Sants Monica beach just beside Loews hotel in Santa Monica. Since that time we did not manage to travel to the US again. And cycling in old Europe is so amazing!!

When friends from out of town visit I sometimes take them on a climb to the Hollywood sign, then to Griffith Observatory. On the way I happen to pass by infamous dead celebrity spots. Nicole Brown Simpson's condo (OJ's place is just up the road), Nakatomi/Fox Plaza (Hans Gruber), Beverly Hilton (Whitney Houston), Will Rogers Memorial Park (George Michael) and the Viper Room (River Phoenix). This is without even planning a route, they just happen to be on the way. If I did some planning and research there would probably be 20 locations on a 35-40 mile ride. So much better than looking at the gates of homes. LA is a gold mine for celebrity cycling tours.

The "riff raff" don't live in the valley. Encino, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, etc. in the San Fernando Valley, all have $5M+ homes. Keeanu Reeves lives in West Hollywood.

I saw Mulholland Drive in the movie Mulholland Drive. hahaha. Magic road.I haven't ridden in LA. I've got quite a bit of experience riding in traffic but I didn't see any signs, lanes, nothing whatsoever for cyclists on roads in LA - what is motorists attitude towards cyclists like there?
Generally okay but there's a handful of drivers that are just oblivious and a decent amount that'll just fly by you way too close. There are bike lanes and bike paths here and there but not enough to get across the city in 100% comfort!

@Paul Angeloff are you sure all of it? I did some research about sites used because I wanted to visit them when in LA. Rita's house was the smurf houses in LA suburbs - can't remember exact name.
@Paul Angeloff I've read some of this when I was doing research for LA trip. So it says some of the locations are in LA, so what you say about Philly is confusing. It was Diane Selwyn who lived in the smurf houses - they were so cool to see!! LA is strange, it's so kind of normal and also ugly but fascinating. Shit coffee though.
