Thank you for this video. My my daughter received a gift of some clothes from an out of town family member, and one of the items had this security tag still on it. With this video I had it off in about 90 seconds. I drilled a hole right where you did, and then used a metal rod to engage the release mechanism. Super easy.
THANK YOU!! I didn't have a dremel, but the use of the word melting led me in another direction. I did have an awl. I heated it with a candle and it pierced right through in the same place we were shown. One I made the hole and heated teh awl a second time it made the whole larger and a few tries applying more pressure popped it right open and the tac pulled right off.
I actually have a shop tag like that attached to a tent I (legally) bought in a sale once when we were in Canterbury (I think). I never got to use the tent as planned at the time and never noticed until years later. No way to go back now, and so stuck with this tag. Not sure I have tools like yours to remove it though. Might just have to look like a shoplifter on whatever campsite we end up visiting in future
Then I expect to see a follow-up video. :-) Get the dremel out! The great thing about removing the tag this way is that it can be used again. Next time your friend falls asleep at a party tag their legs together.
The machine beeped, and I was like mom it’s beeping. My mom said I payed for everything, they maybe forgot to take off the tag thing. And we drove many hours

Used my dremel as shown, used a little bigger screw, used my screwdriver to insert the screw. The two parts separated easily, great video!

That the same. I got from my close in ross for less security tag not the ink tag but i didnt drill dude
Thanks for that, I just drilled a hole around the same spot as you did and then it just came off.
Another tip is to put it in the freezer so the ink doesn't spill
I use a hanger and it worked🤣
Doesn’t work for me
