Bass players have a hard time lugging their heavy gear around, so Fender have decided to make our lives that little bit easier. The Fender Rumble 40 V3 Bass amplifier manages to cram that classic Fender bass sound, playability and response into a lightweight combo amp. Weighing in at just 8kg, this is one of the best portable bass amps available today.
Redesigned from the ground up, this is the 3rd version of the coveted Fender Rumble 40 range, providing improved response and sound quality via a 1 x10" driver, 3-Band semi-parametric EQ and 40 watts of pure, solid state power.
This practice amp is also a fantastic option to record and play live with. You can use the headphones jack for silent practice, but also record direct to a desk or play through a PA thanks to the XLR connection - a highly versatile amp.

Have had my Rumble 500 for about 2 years, LOVE it! Played it LIVE in loud situations, always clear and punchy, get a lot of compliments on my sound. Was using an AMPEG BA110 for practice, it was ok but didn’t sound like I wanted, just purchased a Rumble 40, and it ROCKS! Impressed with Fenders RUMBLE series.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Dagan's reviews are refreshingly down to earth. None of that flowery "This enhances the mid-frequency sound-stage, without over-stating the more earthy tonal spectrum elements" that manufacturers churn out. Love the 'And this setting, umm, makes it sound...well, like this....'

Maybe include a fingerstyle segment, thumb picking, maybe some picking away from the bridge, palm muting, what about featuring the neck pickup a bit...it is a bass after all, low frequencies rule. How about some flat wound strings in a bass amp review?....they tend to fit in a mix better. Bright, clanging "lead bass" is not everyone's cup of tea, ...but a variety bass tones included in a balanced, Amp Review. would be very helpful. This amp, as demoed, sounds like a one trick pony, which it is not. Just saying. MM

Yes, I use it for the practice session with my rock band, But I should put the gain in 50% and the master in 65% - 70%. Maybe to live events this amp does not be the better option. If you have money buy the rumble 100 or 200 for the live events.

    • @JG-ux7of
      @JG-ux7of 5 лет назад +3

Really depends on the drummer and the size of your space and your guitar player(s) band mates. If you have a hard hitting drummer and competing with guitars playing with distortion it can be difficult. Keep the master volume all the way up and ease the gain up until you can hear yourself. I like to play with bass up and mids scooped when I play alone but with a band I will push the mid up and treble at 1 and the bass at 12. It sounds a bit harsh that way on it's own but it will cut through with a loud band. If that's not enough I will even (gasp) play with a pick.
Not bashing pick players, I just personally hate the sound of pick attack on bass and play much better and faster with my fingers.

My main rig is 400 watts. I play a GK 800 head and Mesa Powerhouse 2x10 and 1x15. This rig sounds great and gives me plenty of power but it isn't easy to lug around. I use this amp for home practice, I've only used it once with my band and I made it work but it wasn't ideal.

Save yourself the embarrassment and trouble trying to make this "loud enough" at practice. Just buy the Fender Rumble 500 and be done with it. It'll be the best extra money you ever spent. Then you can just add another cabinet to it later for even more balls. Trust me.

I was about to say that he looked like he was about to drop a moisty while playing, like he was straining to poop. Its just beyond me some the expression people feel that they have to make when playing an instrument. Just think if they did the same thing to drive a car they would be pulled over by the cops with them thinking the person had a mental problem. I watched a video one time where a drummer streched his face so bad when playing, it looked like he was in severe pain, and it was even painful to watch the poor guy play, and he sucked at playing also! I just have no need to make a spectacle of myself when playing! I guess some have to do this to detract from being a poor player? But I am not gonna be mean to this guy, so I won't mention this to him...

That clicking from the pick sounds real rubbing-like through the amp. Yuck.

Redesigned from the ground up. Yeah, dont blame Fender. I'd put as much distance possible from the P.O.S Model Rumble. They were Terrible.

Wish they played with fingers as well so I don't have to imagine it :( sounds very bright and picky to me
(Also gotta say I'm pretty biased, I'm a "picks are sacrilege" kinda person)

Well, it’s 40 watts through a single ten inch speaker.
I picked one up today because it’s an incredibly portable practice amp, really liking it so far.

I am currently playing 50 Watts through a single 12 inch speaker. A Boss Katana 50, which is a guitar amp and has more bass than the Rumble 40.
