If I could make just one suggestion, get a 3000 series reel with a 6.2 and higher ratio for your long line trolling rods. From 100 feet out, fish are in the boat in just a few seconds. Its ugly and doesnt make sense, but for me there is no other way to handle multiple rods in the water when slabs are biting.

Does color of braid make a difference?
In my opinion it does not. I run suffix 832 neon green.
