We have been using the 5250 all this time at my company. When I compiled and saw the spoolfile appear in the terminal with the highlighted errors I almost cried. Thank you.
Thank you; this looks very promising! Looking forward to learn how to integrate gmake or something like that to e.g. create service programs when containing modules are recreated, and how to "set" parameter values for compiling. I'm sure many developers would prefer Visual Studio Code to RDi, and for most of them the shown capabilities of Visual Studio Code cover >80% of their daily needs.
Very slick. I've never used VS before so it will probably take me a while to get used to this. Two immediate questions I have are (1) My screen shows white text on black. Your demo looks different. (2) When I right-click a source member name, there is no open option. If I click it, I assume it opens in edit mode. How do I open it in browse mode?
Hi Liam, thanks for your very useful videos. I configured Visual Studio Code but when I try to connect I receive the error:"Handshake failed: no matching client->server cipher". The SSH server is started. Have you idea how can be is the problem??
I don't see how to add to a filter additional items. E.g. I want a filter to include specific source members: qddssrc/oesup*, qrpglesrc/oesup*, qclsrc/oesup*, qs36src/oe0162, qs36src/oe0162fm
I don't have a member browser, just an object browser. And I can't turn on "Enable SQL". It says "QCCSID is set to 65535. Disabling SQL support." That's great, I've got "bigger problems". That gives me no idea what to do next, however.
In newer versions of Code for IBM i, you can browse source members using the Object Browser. Come ask some questions on the discussion board and we hopefully solve your problems.
Hello Lian, in principle congratulations on this excellent work, I present the following drawback when trying to connect to IBM System i using the Plugin Code for IBM i "Not connected to D102508R! All configured authentication methods failed", could you help me with this please

You have the possibility too to work with COBOL, new compile options!
Can you do another video in how to work with db2?

Great work!
One question... how do you add syntax highlighting for members of type SQLPRC?

Hey Glenn - you're better off asking these questions over on our discussion board! github.com/halcyon-tech/vscode-ibmi/discussions
