I wrote in last week. Thanks for making this presentation. I shared it in all the aquarium related groups I'm in

I submitted a comment when I saw this come up on r2r a few weeks ago, emphasizing that they aren't caught from their native range, that they were originally marked as threatened specifically because of their very specific range, that they've been in other places for decades, that almost none of the banggais traded in the US are wild caught, and that there is already robust end-to-end infrastructure to both aquaculture enough to satisfy the market and get them into the hands of hobbyists that want them - the biggest pet chains in the US exclusively sell aquacultured banggais.
Also sent in a picture of a few dozen fry collected in my tank, because my aquacultured pair spawned every month for more than a year and I probably raised close to 100 to young adults - we have all the tools to not have to take them from the wild and they're already working and well understood - locking down the trade entirely is simply unnecessary for their conservation.

Be aware, "one well supported comment is often more influential than a thousand form letters" so please write with well supported statements.

Per ESA section 9(a)(1), it includes interstate (not just international) movement; including those that are currently in possession of the Bangaiis.
This is why blanket applications of law rarely solve problems. 🤦‍♂️

Why the mono sound only on the left channel? Makes it uncomfortable and somewhat difficult to listen to.

@@melevsreef should me reasonably easy to make the right channel play the same thing, so at least your listeners don't get the impression that their right ear doesn't work :p

Love Coral magazine. Wish it had more issues per year.

The only scenario that all this makes sense is that the fish farming is only a diversion and only minimal number of captive bred fish come from the farms and majority are poached from the wild. There has been similar cases regarding endangered/CITES listed species in the past. Hopefully this is not the case and the fish farms are monitored appropriately by the Indonesian authorities.

I wouldn't be that surprised given the number of captive bred ones that refuse dried food and mostly refuse frozen of have to be trained onto frozen. But I have also seen it in my own stock so maybe it's just what they do
