Fantastic.these were a great couple much missed.
Enchanting, Thelma Barlow and Peter Baldwin sang this so well, Beautiful voices, in tune and can clearly both sing. Shame there is no more Mavis Riley and Derek Wilton. Big mistake writing out Peter Baldwin, resulting in Thelma Barlow leaving if I remember correctly.
the new producer, new broom etc and thelma barlow i think said she was going to leave anyway whether thats true or not. but many actors felt the wrought of the new producer

They were both brilliant in Corrie. To be honest, having grown up in a Corrie house it was hard to think of them as actors playing parts. Corrie was more like an extension of the neighbourhood and I didn't care for Derek and Mavis frustrated the living daylights out of me. Jean Alexander ( Hilda ) lived close to me in Southport and she suffered from people expecting her to be Hilda and taking umbrage when she turned out to be another person.
Very nice.
The days coronation steet was full of good character actors unlike now its a load of bull sh.t not worth watching more classy CORRY please
