I've got a C70 with the 0.71 Speedbooster. I can confirm that all your EF glass will work on the adapter and look amazing. Also, Sigma lenses work perfectly - my 20mm 1.4f comes out at 14mm after using with the speedbooster. My EF-s lenses work if you remove the plastic shroud on the back and just plug it in. This week I've been filming with the 11mm EF-s lens....it goes down to 9mm at 3f on the speedbooster....in a c70....with full frame AND at 4k 60fps. Amazing!
In case you are wondering: Yes this adapter does fit to the EOS R camera without the two attachments on the sides.
Although you can only use it in 4K crop mode for video with a FF EF lens (so no slow motion, only up to 4k30p) and lens corrections might not be supported.
It reduces the crop factor to 1.24x instead of 1.75x
Thank you for answering that, been researching if I can just buy the adapter and keep using the eor in 4k all i do is 24p either way.
That woman's twist in the air was amazing.

Canon is going to sell a boatload of these cameras. Can't wait to get my hands on one.
Please make the adapter workS for EOS R and RP cameraS as well since they have crop factor while filming 4k as well!
If 'Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x' supported with R5... then you can get 4k Crop mode with equivalent FOV as Full frame, Similar sharp image as 4K HQ mode (Since 4K Crop mode oversample from 5.6K- no line skipping/pixel binning), One stop Extra light... and no more overheating issues.
I'm just not sure about two things: Is the adapter only working with these three lenses or can you use every EF lens out there. If so, I don't understand what the difference is? Plus: On the website it's written the AF Coverage is being reduced to 60%. Is this gonna be a huge problem?
Hello:
As of September 25, 2020, the following lenses are compatible: the EF16-35mm f/2.8L III USM (released in October 2016), the EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM (released in September 2012), the EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM (released in November 2016). Canon plans to gradually expand the list of compatible lenses by providing free-of-charge firmware updates.
Compatible lenses will work with in-camera lens correction such as Peripheral Illumination Correction, Chromatic Aberration Correction, and Distortion Correction. Canon EF lenses that are currently not listed as compatible, will function optically but will not have support for the corrections listed above.
If you have other questions on this adapter or the AF performance of the EOS C70, our Cinema support agents are happy to assist you. They can be reached at 855-246-3367 7-days / week, around the clock.
We hope this helps.
@@CanonUSA Will you be able to update the firmware of the 0.71X adapter when mounted on EOS R, Ra, RP, R5 or R6?
@@claudeganter3911 so no aftermarket EF lenses? just those three are working? Why is that?
@@grzegorzzielinski6574 They'll update the other ones soon they said. So no worries about that.
Will this work with the RP, R, R6, R5?
Hi, mirasga! If you've got an EOS R-series camera, Mount Adapter EF-EOS R allows you to use all EF and EF-S lenses on it. Learn more about it at canon.us/zssf6
Hope this helps!
@@CanonUSA You didn't answer her question. She has an eos R, and wants to know if that RF 0.71x adapter will work on those r bodies. She obviously already knowns about the current rf-ef adapter everyone uses.
Just say No! Instead of feeling like its a robot answering
that would instantly kill the need for R6/R5 over R :D
@@116Swimmer i'm actually a man. Anyway, @CanonUSA the EF-R 0.71x is essentially an RF mount speed booster.
I'm not dumping the R for the C70, but I DO WANT to know if I can also enjoy close to Full-frame FOV for video work on my R.
@@mirasga I also want to know this!
do i have to use the locking screws? it might get in the way if i want to swith between EF and RF glass (i believe only the RF lenses will allow me to use facetracking?)
Hi Patrick:
You can find the recommended mounting method described in the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x instructions. Here is a link: Canon.us/gfn5j. These instructions also list the EF lenses that are currently fully compatible. Full AF operation is available for fully compatible EF lenses. Additional lenses are expected to be added in the future.
Will legacy L lenses be able to use DPAF with the 0.71x adapter?
Hello,
As of September 25, 2020, the following lenses are compatible: the EF16-35mm f/2.8L III USM (released in October 2016), the EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM (released in September 2012), the EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM (released in November 2016). Canon plans to gradually expand the list of compatible lenses by providing free-of-charge firmware updates. EF lenses are still compatible with the camera, but Canon recommends that firmware updates be installed in order to effectively utilize functions which link the camera and lens.
We hope this helps.
Will this adapter work with the Canon Zoom Lens EF 24- 104 1.4 L IS USM????
Hello! Canon doesn't have a 24-104mm lens, but if you meant the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, yes. It works with that one. You can see all of the compatible lenses at canon.us/3jvjbnM
Can I please confirm this only works with:
16-35 2.8L III USM
24-70 2.8L II USM
and not the latest F4 IS versions of these lenses?

Can you use EF-S lenses in the C70 with this adapter or is only for full frame lenses?
One of their other videos had a footnote that EF-S won’t be compatible. My guess is the flange in the back of the EF-S lens will hit the magnifying element inside this adapter.
The other regular adapter has no glass, so EF-S fits just fine.
@@LE672AJ Thanks for your answer, so if you have both full frame lenses and EF-S you cant use the same adapter.
Hello Nick:
EF-S mount, RF mount and EF-m mount lenses are not compatible with the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x. You can find more information on product page for the adapter here: Canon.us/nsver. Be sure to review all notes on the page.
We hope that helps.

Can I mount this on a Canon R7?
Hi, Pierre! We designed Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x specifically for use on the EOS C70. Hope this helps!
Nice! Why I bought RF 24-105 f4 for extra $300 if I could to buy EF 24-105 f4 and get wide angle on my eos R with 4K video and better aperture? Thanks Canon! I'ts new reason for buy EF lenses unless RF. Great job! Please tell when simple EF EOS R mount adaptors will on stock by $99 not $300 on aftermarket?
Hello:
The Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x, discussed in the video, is design for use with the EOS C70 Cinema camera. This adapter is priced at $599.00. The standard Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is designed for use with the EOS R-series cameras. It does not change the lens field of view nor does it provide an increase in f-stops. The standard adapter costs $99.99 and you can contact our sales group for the current availability. 800-385-2155.
We hope this helps.
@@CanonUSA Classic EF-EOS R aDAPTER FOR CANON R out of stock now( On Canon official website described that 0.71x adaptor also developed for mirrorless camera like Canon R. And staff on BHphoto-video confirm it. Where the truth?
Will this be compatible with BMPCC 6k?
Hi Isaac:
This mount adapter is designed for use with the Canon EOS C70. We have not tested or confirmed its compatibility with third party cameras.
We hope this information is useful.
No, but I wish. Unfortunately, BMPCCK does not have an RF mount. Whoever comes with a mount for BMPCCK will make a load of money.
