ME 4110L: Olinda Alpha Landfill Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant

This video series demonstrates the hands-on nature of the Mechanical Engineering Department's curriculum at Cal Poly Pomona. In their senior year, mechanical engineering students at Cal Poly Pomona have the option of taking ME 4110/L, where they apply concepts learned in their thermodynamics and fluid mechanics courses to study how power plants operate.
This video was recorded at the Olinda Alpha Landfill Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant in August 2020. Narrated by Professor David Miller, filmed and edited by Professor Paul Nissenson.

What's the overall efficiency of the plant? 60-65%?

Great question. Combined cycle plants are quite efficient, but we don't have this plant's efficiency value handy at the moment.
