    Always pleasure watching your videos and having the possibility to see how PRO Triathlete work and test their position on the bike to achieve those marginal gains that can make the difference during an WC. Also I must admits the bike it is very nice and it has very clean lines which I assume keep the weight low compared to other TT bike. Giuseppe

      That sponge-idea has got to be illegal, right? Didn't they ban the use of camel-backs in UCI-TTs because they were used to improve aero? Granted you are not under UCI-rules, but I would still check to be sure...

    Joe, have you considered wearing aero calf guards? Some of the data seems to suggest it can save like 10 watts over bare skin. I’m skeptical, as I don’t see many pros wearing them. But it looks like you are looking for every advantage, so could be worth a look. Rule28 and HUUB seem to have the best options.

    • @joeskipper91

      That front end mate was purely made for the wind tunnel and velodrome testing. Never intended for riding outside. Now we know what position works for me Harry from revolver has made me a really nice mono bar but we couldn’t make that until we had the data for what position was fastest.
      In regards to length every tt bike ive had I always struggle to get enough length. If I go bigger I’m to high on the stack height. It must be something to do with me as it’s like that on every bike so have to get bits custom made.

    Looks like a gravel bike with the disc brakes 🤣 just kidding, when every gram counts why would they put heavier discs on?? Looks great, but would be better with rim 😉

    • @Gws525
      @Gws525 2 года назад +3

      Can't believe there are still people who genuinely believe rim to be superior, but here we are ..

    • @alexjohnson6462
      @alexjohnson6462 2 года назад +2

      Rim is superior by virtually every objectively measurable criteria there is other than stopping characteristics. And out of all the criteria which are important for TT bikes, stopping characteristics is pretty far down on the list of importance unless one is doing some extremely niche TT courses which very few guys do.
      Even in countries known for extensive rainfall or which might bump the importance of stopping performance up on the list, its still not at the very top of the list such that it would necessitate intentionally moving to a disc system. If you either lived in an extremely dense mountainous country with few flat training grounds, or if you were doing some niche "extreme" TT's like some guys do that involve extreme mountain courses with lots of downhill and possibly wet conditions, it would be much closer to a necessity.

    • @jamesd5241
      @jamesd5241 2 года назад +3

      @@alexjohnson6462 actually wrong, with the new technology they have been able to make disc brake wheels more aero as no need for a braking surface which disturbs the airflow a lot. The argon is fully integrated discs so they have really moulded the frame around the callipers so thats pretty minimal.
      you also get the huge advantage on tri bikes of having useable brakes. most "intergrated" rim brakes on TT/tri bikes are useless. e.g. giant trinity.
      basically with the argon setup with super fast wheels like revolver you get the same or better aero. way better braking and ease for travelling. with about 300g of weight gain, which is nothing for flat fast races.
      id go with the discs in this case.

    • @cd66061
      @cd66061 2 года назад +1

      Agree completely, I had an Argon 18 E119 rim brake bike, the brakes were next to useless as they were so focussed on getting them hidden that the cable routing was a nightmare! I did a race where I had a dead turn to negotiate, and i had to throw an anchor out about 100 yards before the corner to make the turn, disc brakes just make everything easier and give way better options with wheels. Cant understand the old fogies that keep reminiscing about the good old days of rim brakes, you’ll want steam trains back to the mainstream too I suspect 😂

    • @80H1C4
      @80H1C4 2 года назад +1

      @@alexjohnson6462 Direct drag comparisons aren't the only consideration though, yes hidden rim brakes are going to be less drag than a disc but what you also need to consider is how a disc brake can enable a complete modification of the front geometry of a bike. Look at the shiv for example, that fork design would never have been possible with rim brake and no doubt has some drag gains over conventional fork design.
