Yeah, my dad developed non-Hodgkins lymphoma caused by Agent Orange in Vietnam. It finally took him in '96 when I was 16. Dealing with the VA before he died was horrible. However, my mother has had free VA care since, and I did get some benefits because the government recognized me as a war orphan.

I am a Cold War vet that was stationed at Sembach AB GE which was a forward base for the A-10. It is still my favorite airplane.

From our first breath, the brain is constantly assessing and adapting to overcoming threats. danger, grief, or trauma that can't be resolved linger in the mind, and it becomes a disorder caused from stress that lingers after a traumatic event... some of us in the upper echelons of the medical community call it... Took 8 years to get disability for things the doctors diagnosed and treated me for in the middle of a deployment. In the end had to get a lawyer and it sounds like it was exactly that. The paper work at the hospital wasn't done correctly and needed a lawyer to get them to fix the paperwork on their side.

I was SF in the AF back in the M60 days, and the M249 was ALWAYS my favorite to train on. I just carried the M16 and 9mm as my daily duty weapon. So much fun! Glad you got a chance to let loose! Love your guests- great stories! Also, my husband was a flight engineer on C-130’s and he loved that job. Both retired now.
One of my favourite parts of the day is your show! If I don’t listen as the evening winds down, I catch up on the way to work the next morning!

My dad served during Vietnam. Was in 4th Armored Division. It took the VA 40 F@#KIN YEARS to FINALLY ADMIT his hearing loss (85%) was due to what he did while in the service, and finally help with hearing aids! 😡😡😡

I can answer that for ya Frank- it’s called Insider trading. That’s how a majority of Congress becomes multimillionaires. Take Dan Crenshaw aka the One-eyed RINO for example, he took a page out of Pelosi’s book “How to make a mint in Congress”, and became a baller too.

The Beretta 92 is an excellent pistol... but it takes more trigger training than a 1911 or a glock, because the DA/SA action takes a lot of getting used to, and the Single Action trigger setting is strange compared to a 1911 or jericho... lots of sloppy take up.
But if youre used to it, it's perfectly fine.
I shoot my 96 every bit as well as my 1911 and my glock.
Also some people just hate that grip. Fits me like a glove though.

Had to remind a lot of guys just getting out of this. Sure you didn't lose your leg, but your only 32 and your knees are as bad as a man in his late 60s. You can deal with it now but 30 years without proper treatment, it's going to be that much worse. When you signed your life away to the government, they made a promise too and one of those promises was they were going to compensate you for any damage you incur in the line of duty. They got their 6 or 10 or 20 years out of you. You fulfilled your contract, make the government fulfil theirs.
