Although Ban does do some bad things in the course of the series, he doesn't appear to be evil to me as of Signs of Holy War. I say this because people generally tend to do both good and bad things, even if their good behavior somehow outweighs the bad. In spite of his rivalry with Meliodas, the only time I saw him actually betray his friend was in a pact to save Elaine. I'm not saying he was in the right, but I can't exactly hate him for trying to save the woman he loves, even if I don't approve of the decision he made to do it. I see him as a roguish character with a kind side. He seems like he has a soft spot for kids, and that he's also reliable and decisive in a fight. Oh, and yeah, watch your wallet around this guy or he might use it to buy someone's lunch. Possibly yours. :D
