I had an estimate from my mechanic to change my fuel pump and filter for $350 labor and taxes included. I said in my mind: no way, I'll do it myself!! I watched your awesome video and I concluded that you're very patient and talented. Me? no way I'll do all that. I'm calling my mechanic right now to set up an appointment :)
Excellent video mate...very helpful, will attempt myself at some point, certainly a far cry from the old days when you could just pop a filter on the fuel line.
Really nice video. This looks a lot like the Pump/filter setup for the Kia Sedona 2002 through 2005 series. No wonder there is no info on this in the KIA forum. I'll bet ya some heart surgeons were getting nervous watching you take this thing apart. This is a long way from disconnect two hoses and undo one screw, and you have changed the filter...freaking insane ! Great job man. Thanks.
Really helpful video because it’s the same way on my 04 Kia Optima and Oreillys thought I didn’t know what I was talking about when I said it was the wrong filter
Looking at buying one now that sounds like a fuel pump issue. I'm comfortable about it after seeing your video. Just did one on a 2001 PT Cruiser. Similar looking pump and mounting, but big difference is there was no hatch from car to get to it. What a pain to lower the tank enough to work in it. I will probably be doing one in this Kia based in your video.
My 2011 Forte is at 156xxx miles. I know it needs a new fuel filter, but after watching this I'm contemplating replacing the entire fuel pump unit. It seems like it might not be that hard if you're not taking apart and putting together all of the little stuff. And I can find the pump assembly for around $200 on Rock Auto. Thoughts?
Hello i have 1.5 rio 2005, but I've already got a fuel filter (the one you have showed at the end of the video) under the driver's seat going with the fuel lines. Does that mean I should remove that filter and connect the fuel lines under the drivers seat?
Thanks a lot for the tutorial, it really helped. But for your own safety pls don't hit with a screwdriver against a metal element near the gas tank... ;p
Ok never mind.....the answer is yes. So......to anyone who wants to know on a 03 kia spectra you can get to the fuel pump by removing the back seat. Remove the bottom of the seat by pulling up from the crack of the seat. Where the back meets the cushion. 👍👍
@@myname9252 yeah no problem. That kinda reads like you didn't answer me so I was being an ass. But I wasn't! And I'm pretty good at being one 😊. I just figured someone may be curious/need to know. WAY better than having to drop the tank no doubt! Kia needs to send that memo to Chevy/ford
no, I mean at 1:03 you reach up to the camera, then suddenly at 1:07 you reach back down and the assembly is separated. it looked like you were having a hard time getting it apart before you cut. I dont know how you got that done.
IDK why I cut it,but I didnt take anything apart yet. The connectors @1:50 need to be dis connected then with the flat head separate eachclip then it detaches at 1:53.

Ahhh my wife's gonna be mad. Maybe but she will still appreciate that you did this for her.

Nice video the design is smart there using the filter to cool the pump less likely to burn it up from running on E
Checked fuse and relay, both good replaced fuel pump still not working. Looks like a computer problem?
Nice video. What led you to replace the filter alone vs the entire assembly?

Just changed one on my 08 Rio today . Bought the whole assembly on Amazon for 60 bucks . Dropped right in . None of that disassembly required .
link please
@@jaybajan most likely bought a complete module assembly, including pump, filter and sender unit - no disassembly required.

Do I need to force pump down to seat?

Omggg I need your help, my fuel pump was changed and put back in and now it won’t crank at alllllll😢😢😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺
Was that the problem?
Nice instruction!😎
Glad it helped.

It’s a diesel car you fuckin idiot you could drop a lit match in the tank an it would go out as Diesel is not flammable unless it vaporised 😂
Nice video.....do you happen to know if a 03 kia spectra's fuel pump can be accessed by taking out the back seat as well? Thanks

Glad you found the answer. I think most Kias are like this. Even my sisters forte is this same way.

hey, you cut the camera while you separated the assembly. how did you get it apart?
I'm sorry,from part 1 to 2 you mean?

Why not just buy a new unit and be done? If everything is tarnished the plastic is already comprised. Maybe to make another video later?
"FFFFfffffffu" My sentiments exactly
Help if we could actually see what your doing 🤦♂️
