    You are correct in stating that there is no such thing as a one-man pastor system. The Elders are the Bishops, Pastors, Overseers.

    Perhaps the conflict lies in the fact that the office of "staff" elder or "lay" elder or "board" elder aren't biblical concepts. The elder is a shepherd (pastor) according to the NT qualifications.

      exactly so why are they using this man-made terminology, they're the ones creating the conflict.

    Biblical elders are not called staff elders. There is no such thing as a lay elder.

    Totally backwards. The Elders are the overseers of the church Acts 20:28. Paid ministers (most are not qualified per 1 Tim.3, Titus 1) fall under the oversite of the Elders.
