    I love this. Reminding ourselves where our music comes from. How it was formed from every day lifestyles and hardships so critical to understanding blues. Helps put it in perspective when we play ourselves, whatever our ability.
    As Peter Green said later in life, "How good do you need to be?".

    Charley Patton is both a mythical folk hero and an American music legend.

    Love this series, Ramon, as I adore Delta Blues. One if my favorites is Son House. So much feeling and emotion in the recordings from all these Delta Blues artists.

    Thanks for this! I used to have the Charlie Patton vinyl produced by John Fahey (perhaps on the Takoma label), and it was amazing to hear, amidst all the sounds of the late 60s and 70s. I think it was a double vinyl, with documentation - I gave it to a friend when I left the States on my gypsy path to where I am now. Vive Charlie Patton!!!

      @@TheGuitarShow I hope players will look for this or any other recordings of Charlie Patton. My blues education began when I saw who wrote the songs on the early Stones albums, and after that, I always tried to locate the source - usually less polished and more emotional.

    So who’s Henry Sloan?

    • @jerrywatt6813
      @jerrywatt6813 5 месяцев назад

      An old guy on the plantation that Patton followed everywhere while he learned his sister said he idolized Henry and Henry also sang verry loud an obvious influence on the young Charley!😊

    Nobody has a voice that carries 500 yards. Not credible.
