As a long time Love Island viewer, I am dismayed by the amount of information that is flat out wrong. Perhaps a little time should have been spent on research or interviewing a Love Island super fan. Ultimately, I do agree that feminists would have a problem with this show's programming. A core value of feminism is choice. Each of the contestants on Love Island freely agreed to be on the show. While some contestants are sought out, most are volunteers that applied to be part of the show's cast. If a young woman agrees to be in a very revealing bikini all day and dress in highly sexualized evening wear at night, shouldn't she be supported by the feminist community?
