I believe this was Ali last golden moment, last victory. Ali did retire after this fight in 1978, but some reason tied to Don King and a little bit of hubris over the thought of Larry Holmes carrying on as Ali'' successor, that is what misled Ali to make a comeback in 1980, by which Ali suffered a lot. May Allah bless Muhammad Ali and inshallah he can make it to Jannah!

Amazing how Ali, at age 36, after nearly having to get a leg amputated, with Parkinson's rising, and after all those years of torture in the ring, could still dance like he did when he was 22. RIP Ali. Greatest to ever do it
True, that’s why I’ve been saying to my self every time I watch him fought after this one “why didn’t you end your career with this extraordinary achievement?” but it’s the God’s destiny that he chose not to stop at this glorious moment.
Ali was the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time for sure. Tremendous skill and energy. Ali was bigger than life in the ring and outside of it. A Legend…Period👍
True but deciding to keep doing this at nearly 37 had horrific consequences for Ali . He should have stopped after the 3rd fight with Frazier he was not the same man after that. At the latest he should have retired after 76. It's the fights from 77 to 80 that destroyed him . Even when he won he took tremendous punishment. By the time Ali fought shavers his foot speed was gone so he changed his style to one where he just stood and took shots repeatedly and waited for his opportunity to strike. He beat Shavers but the amount of hard shots he took was insane Boxing was just one thing that Ali could have done great. There was so much he could have accomplished post boxing.

I remember that l almost could not believe what l just witnessed... today, we know that he should not fight at all, especially after the "Thrilla in Manilla"... he should retire.. but l also can imagine that he still felt strong enough to go back into the ring and also there was his huge Entourage. And they wanted (and needed) A "fighting" Ali because the big money was in the fights.. but it is history.. l just can't express my Sympathie's and my admiration for Muhammad Ali.. he was willing to go into jail because he refuse to go into a war. He accept the very unfair decision that he lost his title and that he was not allowed to fight in a Boxing ring.. but he accept it - and he came back.. he came back 3 times, and people did not believe in him anymore. But he always makes the impossible real...this fight was the perfect example: noone really believed that he was able to stand on his feets for 15 rounds - but he did.. and how he did it.. Ali is still the greatest and he will be that forever. He was a phenomen

When I listened to the first Ali-Frazier fight on the radio I was devastated that he lost to Joe Frazier. I had to hold back tears the next day at school. I followed him all through the years and he was one of my greatest heroes, rivaled only by Mickey Mantle ( baseball was my first love). In the years since I have come to admire Joe Frazier equally with his great rival. Those three fights will never be equaled. They finally became friends later in life. As I matured I had to recall Ali's rather brutal character insults at Joe and came to have a deeper understanding of the man's undaunted determination when facing his rival. I recall them now as equals... fighters I will always regard as two of the most fiercely determined warriors of all time. May they both rest in peace.
Absolutely on point comment. Also I would like to mention that I felt deep respect for George Foreman over the years as one of the great three of all times.

... ALI Was Class "A" Talent. When Ali Entered The Ring, He OWNED It.💢💥
I agree, M. Ali was the Greatest in And out of the ring. My hero since the age of 8. With credit to Spinks, after Defeating Ali in their 1st fight he said, " Ali is the Greatest, I'm just the Latest."
How does he know ali was the greatest, he didn't,t fight all the greats, sorry but ali fans always touch shit about Marciano when they show his fights, they warn ali about holding but they never take points from him, I agree he ,s fast and can box ,but all the holding I don't like,
It is just a part of a developed style which has been cultivated since he was a boy and began training. Every boxer develops habits; Frazier: below the belt ( lack of height; Chuvalo, same thing. Tyrell; punches behind the head - every boxer has his old habits- good or bad@@mikemilliken3596

Ali needed money...that is the main reason for his fight with Holmes...and it was a fight that should not have happened...Ali was already suffering from Parkinsons Disease...Ali transcended Boxing and was a WORLDWIDE HUMANITARIAN...
May GOD rest Muhammad Ali in peace...❤
Great analysts
@@JOHNROBERTCRUZNo that's not true. Ali didn't need money. He is already Millionaire. Ali got the biggest paycheck it that 60s and 70s era. Only George foreman got same payment as Ali 5 million dollars each for their fight . Ali thought he could be the 4 times world heavyweight champion. Don king offered him a good green leaves 💵💵💵 for the fight against Holmes. Actually people saying Ali came back to fight because he need the money .And that is totally is bullshit. He said that the reason he cameback from retirement because he thought that larry Holmes is not a true champion and copying his style . And Ali He want to became the first 4 times heavyweight world champion .

They know nothing. And do you know that Ali and Holmes fight, Ali get higher and better paycheck than Larry as a world champion?????? Don were paying Ali,as if he is still the world champion... I think you can find on RUclips Ali talking about his fight in and Larry.

The Greatest Boxer Ali Was Bigger than Boxing This Man Left A Great Legacy!
Ali was the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time for sure. Tremendous skill and energy. Ali was bigger than life in the ring and outside of it. A Legend…Period👍
He is already almost 37 years old here - Ali can still do this at his age 😳👌
True but deciding to keep doing this at nearly 37 had horrific consequences for Ali . He should have stopped after the 3rd fight with Frazier he was not the same man after that. At the latest he should have retired after 76. It's the fights from 77 to 80 that destroyed him . Even when he won he took tremendous punishment. By the time Ali fought shavers his foot speed was gone so he changed his style to one where he just stood and took shots repeatedly and waited for his opportunity to strike. He beat Shavers but the amount of hard shots he took was insane
Boxing was just one thing that Ali could have done great. There was so much he could have accomplished post boxing.

In my young days my parents always allowed me to let me see the Ali-fights live in TV.. the fights was always in the middle of the night or in the earliest hours of the morning.. l saw all the fights and even today it give's ne goosbomps when l look at this re-match.. l was devasted after Ali lost the first fight, but as he was told the Reporters after the decision that he was not serious enough... but then, this re-match was a completly different kind of Boxing: Ali was dancing like he never did in the last 5, 6 years.
I could not stay up for the full fights but remember the excitement of waking up to learn if Ali won. Child of the 70s.
