I hope you have the tiiiiiiiiiiime of your liiiiiife" song, is called "Good Riddance" and it holds the distinction of being the most unprofitable song I've ever played, having not gotten a single tip, ever, from playing it. And I play trumpet, I mean, I get points just for playing what's seen as a difficult instrument, plus I seem to have a decent sense of rhythm so when I play songs people recognize them and know what they are. I once even played "Moon Dance" which is a funky ol' classic rock song with a weird rhythm and scale, and I figured "Well, no one knows what this is anyway" and weeks later I was talking with another busker and he said, "Oh yeah, I heard you playing 'Moon Dance'" so that's pretty solid proof I can pull songs off. And I like the song "Good Riddance", dammit. But wow, does it ever put people in an anti-tipping mood lol.
In my case, I think standing's probably better and have had other buskers tell me so, but honestly it's not a choice because I'll try to sit down, and before I know it I'm popping back up onto my feet again.
hey there! you don't need a permit in Galway. if the spot is free you can take it for max 2 hours. if there is a busker nearby just talk to him and reserve the spot after him. good luck!

Yes I am! Regulations so far allow buskers to perform on the street.
