I actually thought the ladder demonstration was a real selling point, shows the stability of the unit as a whole and how even with round rungs it didn't slip in the clamp
This is definitely a tool worth picking up. I would like to mention something no one has in any thread. Whenever you buy this (if you buy this), I urge you to be very careful with the clamping mechanism... It does not take much force for your material to lock into place.. If you press hard, past a certain point, the clamp is prone to a "popping". It slips out of the square holes keeping the arm in place and after that happens once or twice, the edges of the holes end up rounding off, making it prone to slipping even more frequently. If and when that happens, the clamp isnt as effective given the fact you have to press more softly on the foot lever. Less pressure on the lever = Less grip strength. In other words, take it easy on the lever and keep in mind, you DONT want it to slip, even once, as it will negatively affect the duration of the tool. ROCKWELL: Please make the under panel (the one that has 2 rows of square holes running the length of the arm) a couple mm thicker so as to not allow the teeth from slipping. Thank you, overall a very decent vice/sawhorse to have around.
Please reach out to Rockwell. I'm curious what they do for you. BTW. I never had this problem but thanks to your comment will be careful in the future.
Thanks for he heads up. I just bought 1 of these. In work mode it works great. Used it for cutting and drilling a 2X8. I'll definitely not get carried away with over zealous tightening. Two other problems with this apparatus is it's heavy handling with no real handle to carry it. Also it needs a way to store it vertically; an extra foot or something. Still can't wait to use it for some big jobs.
should be fair to compare the worx pegasus with the rockwell jawhorse for DYI home stuff? I just need something to cut stuff whanever I need to. I kindda like the worx cause I can use it as a table and its light too.
Just got my own JawHorse Sheetmaster as a Christmas present and I've been randomly clamping stuff just to use it. Great video by the way, I know it's a while since you posted it but wanted to let you know you should be careful if you try that again. Don't know how far you were from the ladder but if it had decided to rotate towards you it might have gotten you.
4ft diameter piece of plywood. :) I thought that 9003 (vs. 9002?) model was only up to 37". They do have a larger one, maybe I remember my part numbers wrong. BTW Good for you for lifting and balancing that tall ladder.
lol...well, I'm glad that you agree. I find so many people purport to be "a review" but they really waste people's time when the video has little to no value. I figure if someone is going to take the time to make a video, it should be useful, unless of course it's intended to be of comedic value. In the latter case, the video title should say just that! Thanks!
Well I guess I succeed because I got you LOLing. I get your point. Though, I would hope that aside from the stupidity of anchoring a ladder in this vise, my video does have some real merit. Thanks anyway - I will no longer make bad videos (that's not true). Cheers
Hey Andrew, I picked this up last night after seeing your review. I really dig it. Its a pretty awesome tool and design. But I'm having an issue with mine. I go to clamp something into position, say a 1/2 inch piece of ply, and the pedal sometimes doesn't catch and slips.. I slid the sliding clamping plate off and looked underneath, and the little squares the teeth catch on are rounding already and stripping out.. I've had it less than a day and all I've done is check the thing out, put a few things in to check out the clamping, and no I'm not unreasonably bearing down on it.. Have you heard of this issue before, or did I just get a lemon?
I just read a comparison of the two. Your right the Triton came first and is supposedly lighter than the Jawhorse. However, the jawhorse is supposed to be a tad bit beefier. Overall, the review was that very little was different between these 2 models.
I was waiting for this guy to call his wife and ask her to climb the ladder hahaha. I own 2 and they are great but would never try that ladder clamping
Great video, thanks. But never turn your back on something like that! Be like cutting a tree half down and turning your back on it. You could have missed your turkey dinner. 🦃
Guy, you're exhausted from lifting the ladder 3 ft off the ground lol. You should review an exercise bike... every day for 20 mins. Seriously though, thanks for the vid... thumbs up.
See people make those kinds of comments not understanding that the gravity in my backyard is twice that of your backyard. I think the burgers and beers are twice as large too.
I think that Andrew from Kite Army has lots of enthusiasm, but his review of the Jawhorse was so incomplete that it was laughable. The ladder demo, what does that prove? That it can hold up a 40lb ladder?? Really? All that I could see with the ladder demo, is the possibility of losing his ladder in a gust of wind and causing damage. This review is really quite silly with limited value.
good tune for sure, same here been a while. I bought the jawhorse sheetmaster and there was one thing I didnt much care for. One time while pressing on the foot lever, it ended up popping out of its tracks ( I didnt crank it down that hard either) and ever since the first time, it did it a second time and a 3rd, which by then had rounded out the square shaped holes on the underside making the clamping feature more prone to slipping while locking a 2x4 into place. Have you had an issue with this? Even just by watching you clamp it down on the video makes me squirm because I am just waiting for it to "pop" and slip.
Kite Army I did contact them, I asked them if they could send out a new arm instead of having to replace the whole thing since it was new and they weren't too helpful, they said they would "look into it". Quite frankly I was a little displeased by them, thinking they would have cared a lot more knowing I received an inferior product and I wasn't too happy with my jawhorse. Thank god my original supplier picked up their slack and stepped in flawlessly, VMInnovations sent a prepaid label and sent a replacement ASAP no questions asked. I am wondering now if it really was something with the first unit I received because I know I didn't over crank it, either way I have a new one sitting in a big box in my entrance way. I will definitely baby this lever on the new one, I'll probably use my pinky toe to ratchet down on it bc I don't want to have to go through the hassle of this again.
Hey Jay. I have beat mine up and never had a problem. In fact, I took it to boy scouts pine wooed derby meeting and about 50 scouts used it. I don't think they were all that careful and had no problem. maybe you had a lemon? Keep us posted.
When they first came out I bought one I love it I use it all the time I would never get rid of it I get rid of my wife before I get rid of this Bob Elkhart Indiana Rockwell makes a good product
Love my Jawhorse but was shocked when I tried to buy replacement neoprene jaw pads from Rockwell they are $78.00 a pair!!!! more than half the cost of a new unit at $139.00!!!!Love my Jawh
Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
No way!!!! Thanks so much mate!
i really thought you were going to walk up the ladder after mounting.that would have sold me😂
that would be commitment

This is one of my favorite tool - the only issue I have with it is that it takes up some space for storage.
6 years later and I'm still amazed at your ability to place the ladder on that horse.bet it was even tougher to take down.
That was wild
Haha. This was great. The ladder trick at the end was awesome. I’m sold. Fellow RUclipsr here. This was a great vid! Rockwell for the win
This thing is the jam. It's heavy but man is it useful.
@@Kitearmy I want to get it... Was yours around $200?
I think I have seen it for $150 maybe even $125 on sale
i finally did a review of this on my channel i have been raving about this ever since i discovered it 5 years ago now i own 3 in my fab shop
These are definitely underrated....

Dude! Well done! We definitely owe you a beer!
And I definitely will consume it
Very useful tool. Thanks for sharing this.
sure!
Aw man....I was waiting for you to climb that ladder. J/K . Great review!
One wife was goading me to do so as well.
I think she wants the insurance money

I believe they are the same company
You make great videos keep it going
Wow - this crap? Thank you
Great ladder demo. Even the end hammering was great. Why is the 03 80 bucks cheaper then the 02 Amazon recommended?
Thanks - handy tool
Andrew, I am amazed you have all your fingers.
You and me both
But you do have style.
Good point....style always beats fingers :)

Thanks for the safety tip - good advice. Yes this clamp is wonderful - you will find yourself using it for things you did not expect.

Awesome video man! keep up the great work.
Thanks for the encouragement. See that internet, not everyone is a troll!!
thank you sir. i think i know which one to buy now.
If you have the space...this thing is great. I have to fold mine up all the time :(
That is pretty cool Andrew!
+JC'sLawnTips Thanks JC...it will be a sad day when I run out of cool tools to share with my youtube friends.
+Kite Army I hope that does not happen
3:35 the best demonstration on jawhorse ever
Thank you mate
Thanks for such an amazing review Andrew!
+Rockwell Tools - Now that I own this jawhorse, I don't know how I lived without it. GREAT SURPRISE FOR ME!
Perfect! Glad we could provide it :)
one hell of a kick ass review!
Thanks mate

Nice demo!
Thanks mate
Does it have WiFI built in?
That's the new version
If you climb it,,,,I will buy it,,,,
This gives a new meaning to climbing the corporate ladder...
Nice video.. Thank you..
Mat you would love this thing....it's crazy heavy but it locks in like a pit bull

Could it be a return? Mine never slips and I abuse it. What brand is it - this tool has been re branded by a few companies.
I picked it up at Lowe's. The box says Rockwell 9003 jawhorse
With mine I can crush things in it. I'm going to check to see if mine looks like the holes are rounding. Maybe something is not aligned.
Nice! Thank you for your time..
How'd it look?
Triton Superjaws...been around longer, basically the same thing.
I just read a comparison of the two. Your right the Triton came first and is supposedly lighter than the Jawhorse. However, the jawhorse is supposed to be a tad bit beefier. Overall, the review was that very little was different between these 2 models.
in this case, always go with the least expensive if quality is the same!
I second that :)
Climb the dang latter! Just bought one of these for $32 bucks 😃
I was waiting for this guy to call his wife and ask her to climb the ladder hahaha. I own 2 and they are great but would never try that ladder clamping

Not a chance I would miss Thanksgiving dinner

Hey Tom...Andrew here from KiteArmy...Your right, this video is garbage. I just disliked it!
Me too
Stairway to heaven
Love that tune...can't remember that last time I heard it

I have not had this problem and would be upset if i did. Contact Rockwell - they should replace it for you.

More important than Thanksgiving? 57 thumbs down! Just kidding-good video. 😆
I feel bad that I ever uttered those words. Glad you liked.
Nice
Thanks
I'm going to go find that "other guy" lol
Yeah the bad news is he is dead....something about a crazy fall from a ladder connected to a vice
Kite Army I don't think there is a dip shit out there that wants to see you climb that ladder. We need you around for tool reviews.
ha....Don't speak for my wife :)
BTW...that was very nice of you to say :)
Well you saved me $159 from the Kreg mobile center, it's the least I could do :)
Say no more...I'll get one
Just one more thing...OK forget ti :)
Love my Jawhorse but was shocked when I tried to buy replacement neoprene jaw pads from Rockwell they are $78.00 a pair!!!! more than half the cost of a new unit at $139.00!!!!Love my Jawh
That's cool that you wore down the pads on the Jawhorse - getting your moneys worth
you forgot to climb the ladder
I did it...watch it backwards
3:30 that's fricking stupid. Pointless and proves nothing.
It proves that gravity exists
Nice video! I love my jawhorse, if you have the time checkout the JAWHORSE video I just made !
Love to see
