The interesting thing about Gaiking and GGG units is that their series skill (Flame and Bravery respectively) are almost identical, if not mirrors of each other. GGGG and ZA GURETO in one game... it would be too much awesome.
If GGGG’s return in SRW30 is anything to go by, keep holding on to your dreams. Maybe it might happen in a future game. And I, for one, definitely want to see this dude again.
Honestly, only a few rare mech-based productions don't have stylizing in one form or another? Did Mazinger Z need heat sinks that formed an iconic crest on it's chest? No. Was it bleeding awesome? Yup. And Real-types aren't immune. I have two words for you: 00 Raiser. Why the **** did it need the giant binders attached to the GN Drives? Awesome factor. Also, IMO, the most underdesigned mech out there would be the Scopedog. It's also the most realistic out of a plethora of mech designs.
And just now, I remembered the Wing Zero Custom. All the wings do is do the same thing as the TV version, store the Twin Buster Rifles (IIRC), and give Gundam modelers the world over a splitting headache. But watching it spread its wings like an avenging angel when activated in Endless Waltz? Ohhhhh, HELL YES. Practical? Nah. Awesome? Yeah. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what all mecha fans are there to see. Awesome stuff.

The same cannot be said about Optimus Prime who I only recognize due to this weird fascination the internet seems to have with him. Consider Getter 1 - Simple as all hell but still detailed enough that no incarnation is the same
This means we've got a very typical Super Robot hero against the single most sociopathic trio ever to grace the screen. Ryoma is bloodthirsty and lives to kick ass, Hayato is cold, calculating, and at times sadistic, while Benkei rounds out the trio with a down-to-earth perspective. And this is without factoring in the sheer adaptability of Shin Getter. Shin Getter 2 would make it a Mirror Match, being able to match Gaiking the Great's speed.
There's also the fact of the two's teams. Daiya is a brave, headstrong, and resourceful kid, but depending on which Getter continuity we're pulling Shin Getter from (There's three, manga, Shin vs. Neo, and Armageddon), he's got a different kind of challenge. The manga team basically had no idea what they were doing, Shin vs. Neo was sadly inferior, so for convenience's sake I'll say this is the original team from Armageddon.

This is overwhelmingly true. Mechs like the Scopedog, various Knightmare Frames, and the real-life Kuratas are awesome in their way, and fantastical machines like Gaiking, Gundam, and Mazinger are awesome in their way. So who gives a damn? Mecha anime 4 life, dudes!
So on the subject of Gaiking the Great vs. Shin Getter Robo, here are my thoughts. Gaiking the Great boasts ridiculous speed and high defenses, while Shin Getter boasts high speed and almost unlimited offensive power. As for the Final Getter Tomahawk, it can ONLY be used while Shin Getter is being force-fed every Getter Ray on Earth by Shin Dragon. It also completely shorts out BOTH machines after use, meaning Ryoma had better not miss, which is quite likely given Gaiking the Great's speed.
@ArmageddonV2 I just had a thought, is the motion blur the actual result of speed, or the end result of the desire to save money for the sake of staying within the budget requirements set forth? Just something to think about.
There's no chance of it being used in a normal situation, however. Against Face Open: The Great, there's no chance of Genesic getting to the handle and connecting. The Great would have to be immobilized first, and preferably, they'd have to fight in space to effectively use the Crusher. I just don't feel that the Crusher is effective for anything -less- than Z-Master size. In a fair fight, Genesic has to rely on his own strength (Genesic vs. Palparepa Prajna).
In the end, even without Shin Dragon, the win would go to the Getter Team. They've got the experience of years (as opposed to months), they've got absolutely no qualms ripping both Gaiking the Great and Daiya limb from limb if it's the only way to win, and they've got a robot that can change tactics on the fly, given his foes throughout the series, Daiya would simply not be ready for that. tl;dr answer: It'd be a hellacious fight to see, but I think I'd have to give the win to Shin Getter Robo.
You seem to forget that I prefaced all of those designs as belonging to "Real Robot" shows. In fact, Super Robots and Real Robots seem to have a pretty even split on space vs. ground (Fun fact: I heard somewhere that Yoshiyuki Tomino didn't want ANY part of the original Mobile Suit Gundam to happen on the ground, since the mechs are impractical for ground battle but were justified by in-universe physics as the best you can get for space combat.)

The only cases of giant robots having simple designs in western media I remember were Transformers, Go-bots, Orbots, OMF:2097 and Megas XLR, and those first 3 were based on japanese toys

You have to be able to do that to enjoy anything in the genre, anyway, I think.)

The normal Gaiking? Actually Shin on its own can fight it very well. if you are going to bring Great in, that is made from three mechs, so bringing in Shin Dragon is quite fair. Other than that, Shin is extremely fast, it is quite durable and it has three modes on its own, each with special abilities that can easily match Gaiking...I don't know exactly what you were watching, but they can match Gaiking no problem o.o
i love the genesic vs the great joke but genesic kicking the greats ass ? nah. they would be equally crazy breaking the world apart to kill each other. Genesic GaoGaiGar is known for power The Great. if you have seen the series has a enormously huge horse power on his back 0.o he can easily go left or right quickly. his power is tremendous. to many differences @.0 but this serie was awesome and stays awesome alongside GaoGaiGar series ^^
Transformers, like Voltron/Golion, are much bigger over in the Americas than they were in their country of origin. Optimus Prime and Voltron are important cultural icon to Americans.
Don't act like Genesic's only power is in the Goldion Crusher! That's a last-ditch weapon for highly selective situations. Genesic is strong enough with his bare hands! But it's a tough matchup. The Great is much more maneuverable than Genesic is, but Guy never, ever gives up- he went far enough as to pull the heavily outclassed, already wrecked GaoFighGar together with only his willpower and -kept fighting sans cockpit-. (Minding that it didn't last for too long after that, it's still amazing)

In addition to what I listed before, theres Gaogaigar, Later Gurren Laganns, almost any combiner from the brave series or the early 80s/70s, Strike Freedom, Dancouga, Gravion, etc... So I really don't see where you're coming from. A lot of Japanese robots have been over designed to hell and back(and while they're still awesome, they get pretty busy and over done).

Not necessarily. There are plenty of Gundams that are fantasical in design or power level (Most of the G Gundam cast, Destiny, Infinite Justice and Strike Freedom, 00 Raiser and 00 Qan[T], and of course, the Turn A). Would a feasible robot have a weapon capable of decimating whole cities? (Twin Buster Rifle, Satellite Cannon and Twin version, Raiser Sword and Quantum Buster Sword/Rifle) And let's not get STARTED on what Newtypes do to UC Gundams. I'm looking at you, Kamille and Banagher.

I don't think Genesic's top speed is all that higher than what we ever saw- Guy was at top strength when he fused and final fused into Genesic and he didn't start slowing down until Palparepa took the upper hand against him. I at least don't think it's on par with FOTG.
Over designing do not equals detailed designs. For example Strike Freedom was overdesigned, while Unicorn and every mobile suit in Gundam UC had a highly detailed design. The detail level depends of the budget, and the level of animation technology. See for example the the original Armored Trooper Votoms, and the new OVA-s, like Shining Heresy, Phantom Arc, which featured the same simple designs , in far greater detail.
Only Shin would be able to fight them, with the power of the getter emperor behind it...Mazinger, even Mazinkaiser is nowhere near as ridiculous. He is quite balanced compared to Genesic and Great
Possibly, but Genesic Gaogaigar, I believe is a machine that cannot, well, not exist. I am not trying to downplay Gaiking, but the powers Gaogaigar has is just absurd. Heaven and Hell would pretty much end it, since it freezes the opponent in their tracks. Goldrion crusher is like...oh my god. As well as the...piledriver was it? Distorts space and can possibly crush gaiking within the white space. Face Open the great, unfortunately didn't showcase much. (It was a bit of a let down for me.)
No ,only G Gundam models are super robots. Even Turn A and Wing Zero and 00 models are "real robots". You seem to be focusing heavily on primarily ground combat models, and relegating anything with more of a "star trek" feel that fights mostly in space as being part of the super robot group when they really, really, REALLY aren't. They're only fantastical because you literally don't know any better. They're just as realistic as the GP-line of Gundams, though.

The normal Gaiking? Actually Shin on its own can fight it very well. if you are going to bring Great in, that is made from three mechs, so bringing in Shin Dragon is quite fair. Other than that, Shin is extremely fast, it is quite durable and it has three modes on its own, each with special abilities that can easily match Gaiking...I don't know exactly what you were watching, but they can match Gaiking no problem o.o

The Great. if you have seen the series has a enormously huge horse power on his back 0.o he can easily go left or right quickly. his power is tremendous. to many differences @.0 but this serie was awesome and stays awesome alongside GaoGaiGar series ^^

Don't forget this also includes the people piloting the robots. Daiya is good but he has to go up The getter team which is no easy feat mind you.
Don't act like Genesic's only power is in the Goldion Crusher! That's a last-ditch weapon for highly selective situations. Genesic is strong enough with his bare hands!
But it's a tough matchup. The Great is much more maneuverable than Genesic is, but Guy never, ever gives up- he went far enough as to pull the heavily outclassed, already wrecked GaoFighGar together with only his willpower and -kept fighting sans cockpit-. (Minding that it didn't last for too long after that, it's still amazing)

No, not I'm not. But most Japanese robots are far more over designed. In addition to what I listed before, theres Gaogaigar, Later Gurren Laganns, almost any combiner from the brave series or the early 80s/70s, Strike Freedom, Dancouga, Gravion, etc...
So I really don't see where you're coming from. A lot of Japanese robots have been over designed to hell and back(and while they're still awesome, they get pretty busy and over done).

The question at that point would be whether GGGG could manage to pierce GTG's armor, which is admittedly iffy.
Still, there's plenty of abilities that GGGG has aside from H&H and the Crusher. Furthermore, I don't think we ever saw GGGG at full speed; Gai was too sluggish to move it right at the time.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of Gundams that are fantasical in design or power level (Most of the G Gundam cast, Destiny, Infinite Justice and Strike Freedom, 00 Raiser and 00 Qan[T], and of course, the Turn A). Would a feasible robot have a weapon capable of decimating whole cities? (Twin Buster Rifle, Satellite Cannon and Twin version, Raiser Sword and Quantum Buster Sword/Rifle) And let's not get STARTED on what Newtypes do to UC Gundams. I'm looking at you, Kamille and Banagher.

I don't think Genesic's top speed is all that higher than what we ever saw- Guy was at top strength when he fused and final fused into Genesic and he didn't start slowing down until Palparepa took the upper hand against him. I at least don't think it's on par with FOTG.

Over designing do not equals detailed designs.
For example Strike Freedom was overdesigned, while Unicorn and every mobile suit in Gundam UC had a highly detailed design.
The detail level depends of the budget, and the level of animation technology.
See for example the the original Armored Trooper Votoms, and the new OVA-s, like Shining Heresy, Phantom Arc, which featured the same simple designs , in far greater detail.

Possibly, but Genesic Gaogaigar, I believe is a machine that cannot, well, not exist. I am not trying to downplay Gaiking, but the powers Gaogaigar has is just absurd. Heaven and Hell would pretty much end it, since it freezes the opponent in their tracks. Goldrion crusher is like...oh my god. As well as the...piledriver was it? Distorts space and can possibly crush gaiking within the white space. Face Open the great, unfortunately didn't showcase much. (It was a bit of a let down for me.)
No ,only G Gundam models are super robots. Even Turn A and Wing Zero and 00 models are "real robots". You seem to be focusing heavily on primarily ground combat models, and relegating anything with more of a "star trek" feel that fights mostly in space as being part of the super robot group when they really, really, REALLY aren't. They're only fantastical because you literally don't know any better. They're just as realistic as the GP-line of Gundams, though.
@ArmageddonV2 Everyone forgets something important here. Daiya and Guy fighting each other would be boring compared to them teaming up and fighting a greater enemy.
