He was definitely a Shooting Guard, hence the name ‘Pistol’! Also let’s not forget who holds the NCAA Basketball record for points ALL-TIME, despite only playing 3 seasons!
I remember getting this video when i was a kid and watching it over and over when i was committed to improving my dribbling (this is only one section of the video). i never could dribble well and after doing some of the basic drills like square V dribble (over and over for hours after class or when i went to gym), i was able to at least be decent and change direction and do a couple basic things that i had no chance at before. the video also gave me the motivation to learn to spin ball on my finger one summer. i saw the dedication pete had and just was inspired to learn it. i was ready to quit multiple times but kept rewatching him do it and it gave me the determination to continue. good video to learn some of the fundamentals of basketball.
im putting this on my workouts pistol pete is one of the best play makers in the nba im looking for ward to be one best play maker in my city despite my age 26 and me having a learning disability
Bruh idc 😂 after watching his dribbling drills video, his life documentary, and passing video.... nah Pistol pete is GOAT for hoops man im done the amoumt of 80s in this video is pure comedy gold😂😂😂😂😂
Pistol talking bout “maybe you’re in your garage watching this, maybe in the gym…” Com’on Pete I’m on the toilet watching this! Ball4Life or until you’re 40.
@joeymarino7 he had a mansion on sharp rd on Mandeville, LA next to my grandparents house. He had bought it from Archie manning when manning left. I met him a few times, hell of a guy. Definitely had a coke problem though. He's in my top 5 favorite players. Way ahead of his time. Just imagine how much he'd scored at LSU had there been a 3 pt line. Dale Brown had tapes reviewed one time and said he'd have score over 60 pts a game with 3 pt line. Amazing
I was fortunate to know him as well during his peak playing days as a pro. I was a ball boy for the jazz. I was there when he scored 68 against the Knicks… He could do things for the basketball. They still can’t do today. I loved him with all my heart.
@@joeymarino7 wow I bet that was an experience of a lifetime. I only met him later at the end of his career. Great talking to you. Thanks for the story.
Certainly the most amazing showman & one of the league's top ten point guards.
Agreed!!!
He's a SG

@@losrevolucionarios8858he played both. A combo. West and Frazier, Bing, Westphal were all more or less combos.
This tape should be mandatory for beginning player learning the fundamentals.
True!!!
Honestly, this is why RUclips exists. Absolute gold for the hoop junkie. Thank you for the upload.
Pete was a master at ball handling & control

He looked coked up here
Unfortunately, he was very sick. He was born with only one coranary system… He died way to young…
