    1:26 and 3:51 were totally Weather Report but flawlessly blended with metal. SOUL METAL! This is a horizon that 150% needs to be explored more deeply.

    You guys are taking progressive metal to another level. Simply love this band!

    Also I dunno about everyone else, but the fat sound of the sax in this mix and its strong presence does my ears many favors. I love saxes in metal, and this one sounds freaking great!

    The best Experimental\Progressive that I've heard for the last time! Rise rules!

  • @Gwunhar
    @Gwunhar 8 лет назад +5

    The first time I listened through Rise I didn't "get it." I knew you were Berklee crew before I looked at your bio, because I know what whackiness issues forth from that land and my older brother got a degree from said land. I thought "interesting, but not sure I'd buy it." I saw your collegemates Native Construct at PPUSA last year and I feel the same way about them. Then Glenn Harveston put Rise in his top 50 albums for 2015 and I said "I need to go back with fresh ears," and boom. After listening to Umpfel's Cactus I don't know how many times I got into your groove and now I'm in love. I tried to go back to Native Construct the same way but they feel a bit too angular for my ears. You guys hit the right balance though, more metal than Umpfel, less angular than Native Construct, but all kinds of fun and proggy and jazzy. You keep makin em, I'll keep buyin em.

    Would love just the instrumental. Awesome talent there. You guys are surely talented, in that aspect.. NOT a fan of the vocals. Lyrics are good, just not applied very well. Too choppy, too jumpy. Difficult to follow. Guess you gotta ask yourself if you just want to make music, or make money....making music. Just my opinion. Not being a dick. WAY worse critics out there. I give it a 7out of 10. Fix your vocals, and you'd have at least a 9. You have to have some flow to them. The style is really bad.

  • @cheeckjerokee
    @cheeckjerokee 7 лет назад +1

    Is it just me, or are those clean vocals really cringey? I really dig everything else though, these guys have some serious writing / playing chops
