There’s only one Johnny Rivers and he is Great!!
I saw Johnny Rivers perform at an outdoor concert downtown Denver in 1989. It was at night and there was a light rain falling . I will never forget that magical experience!
I REALLY envy your experience. Must of been beautiful!
@@gypsysoul5172 Yes it was .It was a free concert sponsored by Coca Cola.I have my old Johnny Rivers lp records and of course RUclips to look back with.
Life goes by too fast ! It seems only a few short days ago, that this song was playing on the radio. I wish we had a restart button that we could push, and just go back. Johnny should be in the hall of fame ! He is, and always will be one of the best singer, performers of all time . Jim T Bless you Johnny, and Lidiafern for posting this.
Why am I crying? Gosh, I'm a softy. This is the MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG EVER.
SUMMER RAIN - JOHNNY RIVERS
Summer rain taps at my window
West wind soft as a sweet dream
My love warm as the sunshine
Sittin' here by me, yeah, she's here by me
She stepped out of the rainbow
Golden hair shinin' like moon glow
Warm lips soft as a soul
Sittin' here by me, yeah, she's here by me
All summer long, We spent dancin' in the sand
And the jukebox kept on playin'
"Sergeant Pepper's lonely Hearts Club Band"
We sailed into the sunset
Drifted home, Caught by a gulf stream
Never gave a thought for tomorrow
Just let tomorrow be, now, Let tomorrow be
She wants to live in the Rockies
She says that's where we'll find place
Settle down, raise up a fam'ly
One To call our own, yeah, we'll have a home
All summer long, We were groovin' in the sand
Everybody kept on playin'
"Sergeant Pepper's lonely Hearts Club Band"
The winter snow drifts by my window
North wind blowin' like thunder
Our love's bunnin' like fire
And she's here by me, now,
She's here with me, Let tomorrow be
Those are such beautiful lyrics, and such a beautiful song.
One of the most romantic songs to come out of the 1960s.
That voice...man, I love that this man is still so distinct.
Johnnie was a under appreciated talent and legend who helped define a generation. He was amazing with his music and made other people;s his own.
You know he's still alive right? So no need to talk about him in past tense.
so true ... Bless him
Johnny Rivers has been around forever, giving us such great songs. Induct into RR Hall of Fame.
Love Johnny Rivers. Greatest voice ever.
Life goes by too fast ! It seems only a few short days ago, that this song was playing on the radio. I wish we had a restart button that we could push, and just go back. Johnny should be in the hall of fame soo true..............
uechifreak:
I agree with you with all my heart.Right back to the year I first heard him on the radio.1966.
My favourite Johnny Rivers song just one of many hits by this man.
so many ... difficult to select only one !!!
Its September of 2023 and I watched an interview with Johnny for Louisiana Public T.V. I don't remember the year of the interview, but when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame subject came up Johnny said he's in the Louisiana Music or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and that means the most to him. He's so gentle and humble, but he can sure get your feet tapping when he rocks out! 🔥👏🕺💃😎🎶🎸
Great! Shame on the rock and roll hall of fame for not inducting Johnny.
I haven't heard this tune in a very long time. Today it drove me to tears.:(
Same here
me too
...Johnny Rivers...Voz única e incomparável...Fecho os olhos e lembro da
minha adolescência...Época de amor e romantismo...Só quem viveu sabe e entende
exatamente o que estou falando....
His voice is so pleasant. I can listen to him nonstop, all day and all night!
stilla y me too he’s still alive so I using past tense wasn’t he handsome and sexy???????…I hope you will reply to this

My husband George and I were married 1 yr. at this time and this song was perfect in our life.Thank you Johnny for your amazing writing and style of performing. The organ, horn, sax, conga drum and guitarplaying so awesome.
Although the sound quality is rather poor, the performance is spot on - such a great melody by Johnny Rivers
I'd love to hear this performance clearly.
I love his voice!
Another memorable song when I was young to hear at the radio.
Love it for ever !
Eternamente maravilhoso. Bom demais.

So talented.
One of my all time favorite summer songs!
AI SIM É CANTOR E AI SIM É MUSICA VALEU "JHONY"
An excellent tune by Johnny Rivers.
Sort of a blend of the Mamas & Papas, Bread, Young Rascals, and Strawberry Alarm Clock.
Good stuff!
I recognized the drummer! It's the one and only Jim Gordon!
Aah aah yes ... the outstanding, versatile Jim Gordon... At the time Sessionsman
Extraordinaire...Still was a hired hand into the 70s...In a few bands, Clapton's etc.
That's Jim on the piano on "Layla"s famous Coda among other things.
His later fate is a question best left suited to talk about another day / time.
Jim Schrom That's also the Hollywood Horn Players led by Jim Horn of George Harrison's LPs and Bangladesh Concert fame.
Luv it 4 life

I will see him again in 2011 as soon as I find out his concert tour dates. You can find them on his website JohnnyRivers

No worry Johnny, I love my Ohio and all, but the planet earth and all of our hearts is the REAL hall of fame. First time I heard this song was delivering pizzas in my old 63' Beetle. I had to pull over to get a better listen.
Always loved this song and it's nice to see him too! Thanks for sharing.
Love the trumpet -- a little bonus that didn't come with the original version.
Hails from Baton Rouge? Lived here for forty yrs. and never heard that. I guess you could say then he's Louisiana's claim to fame.
Marc Lewis He was born in NYC and grew up in Baton Rouge. So I understand.
Haven’t heard this for years. Thanks

Im seeing him in April..Cant wait!!
This is a great song, and I love the mention of Sgt. Pepper!
I woke up one morning with this song playing in my mind!!!!! i found it!!!! YAH... LOVE IT :)
I get that sometimes songs I have not heard in a long time i'll wake up and it will play in my head like I just heard it. It's nice to know that it happens to others too and not just me.
Anyone else thinking that these wonderful moments are "JR against Chicago Transit Authority? Except that monster of a music machine was a band of equals, while JR had to be the General and his crew, the Navy seals...what is amazing is that they come to play for this perpetual underdog. R E S P E C T , This particular concert seems to me to have been JR's favorite or in the list. He is smiling . My dad was a little different and he would say: Study duff until you know the material cold and then go in and ENJOY the exam. Well his grandson did that but I was just too lazy. But that is exactly what Rivers does... People just have no idea his preparation and diversity that he oWNED,

One of the most romantic pop songs. And prescient - talking about living in the Rockies before that really kicked in.
you never know what you might find on you tube.johnny rivers, no lip synch, live.real good.
Out of a Rainbow...I remember I was like 10 in '68 when our babysitter brought this single over for me and my little sister to hear among our Beatles and Monkees records.....and we all heard 'Secret Agent Man' on our little transistor radios, and the tv show a few years earlier....So Johnny Rivers' soul had been Psychedelicized.....Johnny Rivers was Fuckin' Cool...frankm62yroldwhitekid
Beautiful song🖤
Beautiful song!
WONDERFUL MUSIC ! THANK YOU !
Johnny Rivers was the one of the first to record Jimmy Webb songs, before Glen Campbell, and he discovered the 5th Dimension who were back up singers for the label. Rewind is his most excellent album. but Realization is the one from the era of concept albums, one song flowing seamlessly into the next.
Música Maravilhosa
just gets better just good to hear
Johnny! You’re A Shooting Star 🌟
