Disney likes to cut cost on their attractions and entertainment but their cast members are suffering. Disney is plain greedy!
The real problem is that Disney executives don't care about improving the guest/customer experience. If they were truly greedy, they would be expanding the parks like crazy and unveiling fantastic new shows and releasing amazing, must-have merchandise. What they are doing right now isn't greed--it's just coasting. Greed would either cut Disney's film division altogether or make unforgettable movies. Greed wouldn't be prioritizing harmful messaging over making guests happy.

If Disney is cutting entertainment, it shouldn't be a busy summer season. The fact that it still will be means that Disney has no incentive to provide a good value. 😢 Unfortunately, Disney can't afford to pay cast members because they are too busy wasting money on bad movies and subpar attraction rethemes.
I agree with you completely! Avengers Campus without the live shows is a dud. Tiana needs to be promoted 24/7 with live shows. Even Haunted Mansion should have the Grim Grinning Ghosts performing!
Hey Dillon, I really like your honesty, your are one of the realist vlogger/content creator that I trust the most I also like how you call them out, yes CALL THEM OUT!!!!!! and some of us know the fake vloggers/content creators, it's like they are trying to be disney ambassador's just to get free offerings so they will NOT be truthful in anything that's going on at the Disney parks. I remember 2 years ago, you had a video on how to start HHN and when I had visited that same year, I followed your path to a tee and it really worked, my friends and I managed to knocked out 4 HHN haunted houses within one hour and a half, and when genie plus came out on the scene, you really help me out because all the other vloggers were either confused or didn't cover the whole thing but, your tips were sooooo helpful thank you for that. I appreciate the work that you do by keeping us folks informed, thank you for some great videos, you have help my friends, family and I a lot.
Thank you, Dillon. I am a retired singer myself, and am truly sad about all the cuts to entertainment Disneyland has announced. I know there are a lot of details with contracts, unions etc. in CA that don't really exist everywhere, but it's too bad that Disney has not made it a priority to keep great entertainment as places like Universal and Knotts have. Thank you for your honest opinions- you are one of my favorite RUclipsrs 🤗
I think partially what it is, is that the average park goer will not pay that much attention to it. When it’s there they will but at the same time if this is there first time they might still be impressed with what they have and it could be the budget cut version of what is displayed. And I think Disney knows that unfortunately. They are not fully listening to the magic key holders as much, they going for the average guest that rarely goes because they know 9 times out of 10 they would still be impressed by what they are offering. It’s kind of sad.
I agree, it needs to be entertainment throughout the park especially with it being so pricey, we want our money's worth, merch is overpriced food is overpriced and not that great,rides breaking down, they need to stop smh

I totally agree with you like it’s crazy how Disney makes you pay more money on passes and tickets to go but then they cut down entertainment etc. I’m curious what the future of Disney holds and I can’t even see a light at the end of the tunnel on this one.

The price we would pay for one day is not worth the product they’re putting out right now! Instead we’re taking our kids to Universal Studios for the first time and I’m sure it will be an epic day! Tiana’s seems pretty disappointing. It’s now a kid’s ride with thrill elements. No villain is encountered, therefore nothing scary or suspenseful for the older crowd!

I completely agree about certain Disney influencers pretending like the company is NEVER in the wrong but I think it’s part of the contract. Pcdev for example got kicked out from the Disney media list for calling out their BS.
Shameful. Disney cutting atmospheric entertainment during the season with the highest ticket prices and attendance is absurd.

Hey Dylan, thank you so much for your honesty. That is why I love watching your channel. I am imagine key pass holder. And for how much we pay I feel like there should not be any cuts and there should be more specialty things for people that have the magic keys. I’m very disappointed that Disney is making these cuts, especially during the summertime when people actually have time to travel with their families. I would like to see more shows and especially more characters out and about at the park. I recently went to the Star Wars night and for $150 a person, I was very disappointed that we were rushed through every character experience. Only able to take a rushed selfie when I was under the impression that there would be photographers there to take photos so my husband and I had to take each other or have another Disney patron take a photo for us. Although my husband and I did have a wonderful time, I expected much more from Disney. I hope to see bring back more things that people want to see. Thank you.
I mean, if they’re so worried about money why don’t they sell more premium views for the shows? Like they do with Fantasmic and the parades. Who knows maybe they’ll announce something at D23. There’s no major theme parks near me besides wild waves. So my version of Disneyland is the Washington state fair! Hey at least they have entertainment included with admission.
There have been cuts in entertainment at Knott’s but I’m glad you haven’t really noticed

Disney needs to really get their head out of their tushy. With what other parks are providing at a much lower cost people are going to start choosing other parks.
Entertainment is a big reason I go. I can't ride the roller coasters or Guardians, do while my group is standing in line I go to the shows. I love Adventurefuls Campus because how immersive it is.
I totally agree with you! We usually have 10 or more people when we go to Disney. That's a lot of money just to get in! Give me the entertainment!
Is it possible that we're being too hard on Disney? Is there any chance that Disney is making all these controversial changes because they can't afford to keep free FastPass, the canceled entertainment, or any of those other things that Disney has taken away since the pandemic? Could the parks have become too expensive for the company too operate these days?
I cut my visits because I average 5-7 miles a day in the resturuant because 'ANYTHIBG ELSE?'and folks wait til all food is prepped and getting served. Oh can I get this and that like yooooooooo.
Anywho with that I cut my visits to Disney because of the Tram and covid.
Yeah I know dumb me for visiting in 2022and thinking the trams returned when I visited. The park isn't that friendly with any additional seating for those of us that want some rest on a busy packed day.
No Sadly the entertainers decided to join a union rather than be an employee of Disney. This then becomes a problem. Disney wants to pay their entertainers their rates. A Union say nay nay we want this we demand that or we go on strike tomorrow with you getting no notice til apps too late.
Unions are why a lot of major businesses that were evolving with the times and no longer around because of the union.
They all want to stay on the media list at the sacrifice of their soul and fans trust
thank you for not shilling for disney; it's so hard to watch videos that only praise the company, making it hard to know what's really going on (I hope you do an honest review of tba). The wdw reviews of tba are hard to figure out whether the ride is really good or not, especially when we heard about the expensive gift bags and contemporary resort accommodations given to vloggers.
Yeah, Live entertainment has been dying at many parks and I'm not a fan of that. I'm Happy Six Flags is getting some DC shows this summer, while Disney cuts it's shows. I do also have to point out Universal Studios never replaced even in a small way the shows lost for the new coaster coming. USH only has WW and the Tri wizards shows this summer and not even the castle show has been talked about coming back or death eaters like last year.
Yeah USH desperately needs a new show space and some more atmospheric entertainment. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that soon a new theater will be built.

I heard they have no new rides for 2025 so they'll probably take out entertainment and bring it back so it looks new.

Parks should not be cutting entertainment so much so that you just have the rides left. It should always be an overall package.

That’s why they can afford to bring new shows and street entertainment to the parks. It’s not that hard and people can’t convince me other wise.
Thanks for this. It’s all just equal parts saddening/maddening. Nothing about losing entertainment is a win. The most delightful moments are seeing Five & Dime and the Dapper Dans and the like. With the parks so crowded, there should be shows galore to eat up the crowds. Appreciate your take and honesty. You, Brickey and a few others are respected BECAUSE the honesty comes from a place of loving the parks and wanting the best.
And we appreciate it, there needs to be more honest creators at the end of the day showcasing the reality. Shows are a huge deal when it comes to park capacity.
40 here I only been to Disneyland twice in my life. I live in OC. I rather go to knotts or Sixflgas they have a home feeling to me . Not a fan of Disneyland

Goodness, after watching another vid about a certain Disney Hotel, yeah... I'm glad to have that one bit of knowledge where you can tell who is more of a "shill" based on how they Trademark-ly refer to the various Disney attractions. I actually saw an account that did that exact thing and it was wild how much they shined up all things Disney ignoring reality in favor of paid talking points.
Dylan NEVER has done that. He just experiences the parks as they are, positive and negative. Not everything is gonna be the best or worst despite those naysayers who are negative AF for the Grift of it all online as well. Sci Fi fans have heard the phrase, truth is a 3 edged sword, one side, then the other and the truth in the middle. It is never Black and White. Being all positive lets Disney off the hook, Being all negative is a POV trying to play into the worst of people.. which a real problem that excuses people who want to be um.. AH, and have no consequences. An ascendant thing unfortunately.
The points Dylan brings out, are like the basic things that enhance the park experience for the premium price. I know many people who haven't gone cause of the price and the perceived value. And it's not a small thing. Those entertainment experiences not only create a kinetic feeling to the lands, they absorb people who would be in line for rides and such. So cutting them, makes a worse experience throughout the parks.
In any event I've moved away from so many Disney influencers who seem clearly focused on "Doing the job" for Disney's benefit. I'm not perfect but being a supporter of Dylan feels right.

Seems like all the Disney vloggers I watch are freely expressing their less than favorable opinions lately. To the contrary only a handful are keeping it all sunny. Your videos generally seem more objective and less personal opinion which is appreciated. Do you think the recent unionization of the cast members was a factor (or excuse) to cut entertainment?
I think that has something to do with it which is not cool. Plus if higher ups want to see better ROI in the parks the easiest thing to cut is always entertainment.
It’s not just Disney, Knott’s and Universal have done the same thing. Knott’s promised a new camp ⛺️ snoopy theater, and that was scrapped lol 😂
A lot of companies are guilty of it and it’s good we point it out.

I think they still have the bands from time to time but I’m not sure.
Unreal they are making all these cuts, especially while like 1/4 of the park is under construction and not even open. They should be giving us more, not less. Instead, all we get is entertainment cuts and Pirates on lightening lane. Ridiculous

Great take! Although I agree with you, if people keep spending money there, they’ll keep cutting costs and corners. Cast members are indispensable to them, and at the end of the day they’re a business.
At the end of the day yeah if the crowd levels continue then they won’t change.
I wish there were more honest youtubers/influencers out there. Another main youtuber that i watch is Tim Tracker and he's pretty good at giving honest reviews and saying if something was a bit off but he has a friend who is on his channel sometimes named Nick and he is just such a Disney apologist. They went on Tiana's the other day and he was just raving about it and saying that it had the best plot and loved basically everything about it and it was like... Did we see the same ride? Stuff like that where you know they will just take the bare minimum is what really puts me off watching certain people.
And what’s unfortunate is when people praise things that are clearly not where it should be it only lowers the standard.
More entertainment in the parks-Golden Horseshoe need an original style show back! Disney leadership is dropping the ball.

I wish this wasn't where Disney is at, but it is. Until they enter a new chapter, I'll be spending my money elsewhere. I had a pass for many years with my family and we dropped it after the magic key disaster bit us and peomised to not give them our money until Disney treats their customers and employees better. Disney is not worth the cost when it is running at 100%. When stuff is cut it's time to get real .
Let’s hope the cost cutting doesn’t get worse or they will find themselves in a deep hole that’s hard to get out of.
Crazy a little increase in protection and pay for people out in the 100+ heat will cause them to cancel but I swear Disney world is unionized and they never got cuts this just so they can get back at the union and hope the fans see it as a union problem instead of a Disney being cheap problem and remember every place that pays well for what you are doing usually don’t have a union so Disney could have gotten ahead of that but just one uping the promise by the union

It’s just straight up revenge for the Entertainment Cast Members voting to join AGVA. Right now, the merchandise, attractions, custodial, security, etc. departments are in contract negotiations, and the higher ups at Disney are, of course, proposing very little. Never mind the fact that they keep touting the 1.9 billion dollar Disneyland Forward projects…
I’m 100% with you on this video. Because Criticism isn’t harassment. It’s a good thing as it can improve on your work like theme park entertainment and stuff or on yourself and your channel. Being honest instead of hiding behind a facade is what makes things in our life better because if you continue to hide it then it’ll get a lot worse. Also yes you’re paying a lot to go to these places. You want to know that you paid a good deal for these instead of getting scammed

I totally agree with you. I Love Disneyland my father helped put in the submarines and the cars. We have gone every year since 1964. Except for a few years when we moved to Northern California. I have five grand children and I save and take them to Disneyland every year. Sometimes it is hard but I do it. I want them to love it as much as I do. I am hoping Disney reconsiders cutting entertainment. It’s party of who disney is. Let’s not forget what Walt’s dream is. Don’t spoil it. We need the shows and entertainment. If people aren’t watching those then they will be in line for rides and restaurants. Which will make it even more packed. Give people choices.
This is why we will not go back. We let our passes expire

just to know since the union of characters/ perfromers happened would they need new contracts to match the union? and if not i honestly am fully disappointed in disney as a current passholder who goes often i enjoy to take a break from the normal and just relax on days to see some of the small shows happening in both parks . my big fear would be cutting magic happens fully and fantasmic or maybe just doing one show each .
You go dylan talk that you are not wrong about this ive been watching you since i was 10 and I'm turning 14 soon and i see what you mean by were passionate about this and in my opinion we need atleast 2 or 3 shows full time and if they say they are trying to save money, focus on your project that you know will be the biggest money maker like in my opinion tiana's will be the biggest money maker rn. Plus more people in the summer are going to advengers campus and the golden horsehoe for the entartinment. Honeslty disney is making it self look like they are surrending themselves to the other parks.

I’m one of those that don’t go to Disney very often and if I do, I try to get it at the lowest price possible because it’s too expensive to go and sometimes like you said the food is not the greatest and it’s hard to eat at the park when you have little ones that are picky eatersand I can ruin your day

I have and check all of my options but they are about the same , just by a few dollars would be the difference, but still I would have to save and pay the piper lol. we need more people like you in this industry. i have been watching you ever since you were covering west coast racers and jurassic world construction (quite a long time) and i always appreciated the passion, and constructive criticism. i love how you respect the privacy of construction workers, dont stick the camera where your not supposed to, and help make us as excited for whatevers new. you are also the reason i became a fan of HHN and Scary Farm just seeing how it was coming along made me want to see it for myself and now i hit those events every year and drag my friends with me. also funnily enough i got to meet you and drew (parks bros) in line for montezooma around the time it was gonna close and it was really cool getting to meet you and talk to you about the park. also these office videos have been just as exciting as the vlogs/updates. keep up the great coverage, and keep on spreading the fun.
I now fear that Disney are screwed for good. Fortunately, for me, I have had 70 years of Disney in my life. It makes me wonder what their thought process is.

Finally someone that talks the truth. I’m annoyed with Disney. I did not like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney needs to get rid of some people from imagineers to the people who decided to cut entertainment. They are loosing the magic touch they had and I feel they only care about money. I usually make a trip to Disney world every year since I’m from California but this year I’ve decided to travel abroad.I feel I’m going to get more with my money visiting a new country than wasting it on Disney World. I also cut going a lot to Disneyland in Anaheim.
as someone who has to pay for tickets to visit dl, the hardest thing is getting the impression about so many closures (mansion, splash). And I miss aladdin at the experian; why take away a blockbuster show?

Thank for you for this video. When paying almost $600 for 2 parents and one child for one day and one park.....I would like entertainment to make the experience special. Entertainment adds value to our experience and brings the Disney magic. Think Walt himself would want entertainment to be valued in his parks. Also, 100% agree about other RUclipsrs. I unsubed from multiple RUclipsrs who only hyped up everything. When getting their recommendations, it was very disappointing. It costs us a lot of money and that is why we turn to RUclips get fair information so we can the best decision and not waste money and time on a bad meal.
How much do you think it costs to run just one Magic Happens parade each day? Lets just say in Cast Member pay. You can run pretty much so many of these other theme parks budgets for entertainment. Fantasmic has just been brought back. We have a new parade in DCA. So they cut SOME shows off the Five and Dime. They aren't cutting jobs. Fun Fact, most of them don't just work the Five and Dime at the resort. I don't know why people don't see the obvious. See what's been added and what's possibly leaving.

This summer the family is going to Disneyland to bring my granddaughter that has never been to Disneyland she is 4 yo. I had hope to watch the shows with her and her other grandmother which has never been to Disneyland as well. I hope to see the princesses that my granddaughter loves to watch, on TV.
