@@HenrietteSoby yes absolutely, I was mindful of that so I made him watch the video with me from the beginning for two reasons: firstly, to have him witness the process of making scary stuff so that he knows this is not real and so he doesn't get scared and secondly, to get inspired by your creativity ✨
Wow, your creativity (and patience) amazes me. I love those cloches! I've seen Halloween grow from making your own costumes and going door-to-door trick-or-treating for candy or to parties to bigger than Christmas here in the US. I cannot wrap my head around it. It seems like the kids that grew up in the 80s-90s don't want to give up the fun. We never bought our costumes. Now entire families dress up to go trick-or-treating, even with themes or a family of characters (like the Addams Family, Star Wars or super heroes, etc). Alot of office workers also dress up and have contests. I won a few! When my kids were home we used to decorate for it without any of the gore, but since my kids have grown I just decorate for fall/autumn. When my kids were little, we'd make Dirt Cake. It's basically chocolate pudding topped with ground chocolate wafer cookies in a rectangular pan and decorated like a cemetery with gummy worms, little trees, spiders, skeletons and oval cookie tombstones. You can also serve it in a flower pot and stick a faux flower and gardening shovel in it for a garden theme party. You can substitute the pudding with cake, add frosting and then top with ground chocolate cookies, if preferred.

My children have also grown but they both loved Halloween when they were younger. We are behind over here and Halloween has only gotten bigger over the last few years. I think you are absolutely right: it’s the children who are driving Halloween to the forefront, they love it. I have decorated my front yard the last few years as a charity event; I support a charity that looks after children and it’s has become quite the thing. I’m a retired teacher and my hubby is a retired farmer. Corn and soybeans are our main crops and we hired a landlord to farm for us. Your garden sweet corn looked terrific! Were those Granny Smith apples you picked? They looked delicious! I enjoyed all of your DIYs and the cloches were my favorite. You also taught me a trick by wetting the burlap to shape it. I know all things evolve with time but vintage and old decor is what warms my soul and brings me back to my childhood in the late 70’s early 80’s which to me was the best decade! Wow, your creativity (and patience) amazes me. I love those cloches! I've seen Halloween grow from making your own costumes and going door-to-door trick-or-treating for candy or to parties to bigger than Christmas here in the US. I cannot wrap my head around it. It seems like the kids that grew up in the 80s-90s don't want to give up the fun. We never bought our costumes. Now entire families dress up to go trick-or-treating, even with themes or a family of characters (like the Addams Family, Star Wars or super heroes, etc). Alot of office workers also dress up and have contests. I won a few! When my kids were home we used to decorate for it without any of the gore, but since my kids have grown I just decorate for fall/autumn. When my kids were little, we'd make Dirt Cake. It's basically chocolate pudding topped with ground chocolate wafer cookies in a rectangular pan and decorated like a cemetery with gummy worms, little trees, spiders, skeletons and oval cookie tombstones. You can also serve it in a flower pot and stick a faux flower and gardening shovel in it for a garden theme party. You can substitute the pudding with cake, add frosting and then top with ground chocolate cookies, if preferred.

My children have also grown but they both loved Halloween when they were younger. We are behind over here and Halloween has only gotten bigger over the last few years. I think you are absolutely right: it’s the children who are driving Halloween to the forefront, they love it. I have decorated my front yard the last few years as a charity event; I support a charity that looks after children and it’s has become quite the thing. In Denmark Blu tack is called elephant snot and I thought it was called the same in the States. Clearly this is not the case 😂🤣 I have now looked it up and it’s called sticky putty. I need to be more vigilant in future.

Sadly it was the weekend of that terrible Grenby ?? apartment fire. And it was 100 degrees in the shade … we went to Portabello Road, but it was too hot and crowded. So we rode on the top of the Tourist Bus to try to catch a breeze….we really had a lovely time..I will go back one day. In the meantime, I get my fix in Toronto. 🤍🤍🥰

I'm hallowe'en obsessed so I love anything to do with the season. 👻🦇 You have some great budget ideas that look so much better than the shop bought .. waaay tooo expensive decorations 😊 (just to point out Samhain is pronounced 'sow' in.. as in female pig and Celtic is pronounced 'Kel..tic' .. sell..tic is the Scotish football team)

The bible does speak of the essence of Halloween or the synonym words associated with Halloween, i.e. witchcraft, fortunetelling, wizardry, witches, magic, spells, divination, sorcery and so on. Below are a few scriptures that speak of these abominations.
Ephesians 5:11 "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them"
