After this Minecraft SMP updated to the 1.19 Wild Update, I decided to make a mod adding a giant airship / blimp to the game in order to lead a massive server wide expedition to discover the new deep dark and ancient cities. But little do they know this expedition is just one big trap.

Fun fact: The usage of a flammable gas that's lighter than air in order to achieve flight is unironically the reason why blimps were an abject failure in real life.

Yes the German Zeppelins used hydrogen, which is INCREDIBLY volatile. Originally though, they had been designed to use helium, which isn't flammable whatsoever. The reason they were retrofitted for hydrogen was because the Germans couldn't obtain large amounts of helium due to American embargoes in WW1.
I like how the server has died multiple times on mass just by being talked to by rat but yet they keep trusting him "oh i want to send the entire server on an airship, no one would be able to escape if i threw hydrogen bombs in it but i wont do that i promise :)"
I mean, at some point it would just be about figuring out what this absolute mad lad has cooked up, wouldn't it?
Massive working airship for a surprise expedition? Of course it's going to go horribly wrong, it's just a question of how, when, and how freaking hilarious is it going to be in hindsight.
I mean to be fair, if I'm in this server, I can either do the smart thing and ignore rat, or listen to rat and have a sick adventure that may or may not kill me.

The crazy thing is, with the new(ish) datapack tools you could do the majority of the airship's features in full vanilla with datapacks

Setting up a permanent base in that airship and flying around with your friends, dropping to the ground and sending up flares like you’re in a post-apocalypse seems so fun I might actually pay to get access to this mod. I love airships so much

DUDE IMAGINE, you start with a tiny ass airship, the inside doesnt allow for much space, you have to expedite on the surface to get materials but the surface is toxic, forcing you to wear a gas mask with filters that needs to be swapped out, fuel for the airship is precious, promoting setting up outposts in order to extract as much material as possible per location, the world would be very desolate and give that post-apocalyptic feeling, mobs would be in large numbers (like parasite mobs) hence another reason as to why the surface is so dangerous, making a permanent location with safe air and safe spaces being only in late game, you are forced to rely on your airship that you slowly upgrade, having it have more space, less fuel consumption, faster speed, etc etc
the possibilities with just this single mod (albeit needing some massive upgrades and expansions) are endless, i really hope he releases these mods at some point in the future

Obs: For the Giant Airship to rise, the fans ( RTX 5090 coolers ) would be sped up by opening RDR2 on the max graphics settings

This was so fun to watch. I know they're for the server, but I do hope at some point a few of these mods become available on Curseforge. The Ravens and these Ancient Vases look like great additions to any world/server, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few of the others, but... yeah.

I have three ideas.
1. Create a Minecraft cult called "The Ascension" then gather players into it in the SMP. Then, create a mod where [something] ends the world. It could be a nuke, the world's core collapsing or the sun going into a supernova. Congratulations, you're a god.
2. Create a train and a train station mod in minecraft and add it to the SMP. Then, create two bridge models. 1 that doesn't collapse under a train's weight and one that does. Then, create a straight line of track along with bridges then advertise. After gathering players aboard your train, set off and begin your journey. Then, on a turn, two things can happen, either you derail at the sharp turn into an ocean or you keep going and get to the collapsing bridge where the train derails.
3. Food poisoning via potato sandwiches.
I love how much Rat just loves these massive new structures and new content; hearing cries of how pretty everything is (especially the upgraded Ocean Monument) was super wholesome!

That was one of the coolest effects for a mod i've ever seen the airship exploding, the airship shaking inside and outaide when it hit something everything was just perfect well done👍
Unironically the most hyped i've gotten over what's essentially a glorified mod video. the over-the-top effect of the airship crashing and the intense music during fights legitimately had me more excited than anything i've seen in a long while!

Ok but seriously though, some of the other mods you've shown look neat and fun, but this airship looks downright *amazing* and I would love to have it on a server. The ability to design a mobile base that I can fly around the world with my friends like exandria but (hopefully) without the calamity.

@@IAMFANTROLL still really buggy and won’t work well in survival currently, vs1 ship turning system is very glitchy and vs2 will cause minecraft to crash upon launching when combined with certain combinations of mods
You just have to not try exploring a stronghold on your journey...

at the time if you tried to join the cockpit when it was already full (moriya had just taken the third and final seat) you would have been ejected out of the airship. i didn't know this! the sound of me screaming as i fell to my death is genuine :)

This reminds me of how the interior of ships work in Warframe’s Railjack mode where the actual inside of crewships and mission objectives are outside the skybox and the windows project the outside so accurately like you’re flying around
