Thank you for making this video, it was really helpful especially when you showed where everything was in relation to cardiac XD I'm applying for accommodation now and I'm torn between Birks and Lafrowda and whether I should go catered or non-catered. I looked at some videos including this other Exeter youtuber called Francesca Michaud and she made a "Exeter University Room Tour: Birks Grange Village Ensuite Studio Self Catered Accommodation" video which was really good to see what the rooms were like :) I was wondering what is your / other people's opinion on catered versus non-catered? Thanks again for this video, it was super helpful xxx
This video was a nice way to summarise all the accommodation options. Does anyone have any experience of staying at Point Exe? I don't think it was mentioned here. All I've heard about it is that it's really far from campus but I'm studying at both Streatham and St Luke's and it has a free bus to both so that's not really an issue for me.
Hello! I've applied to exeter but now some people have scared me about how posh it is lol. That is not the vibe I got but I would just like your opinion on it. I'm polar opposite to the stuck up , posh sorts of people, should I not go to exeter? It was described as having all the people who couldnt get into oxford etc. That is not really my thing lol.
Ahh no, don't worry at all! I think everyone finds their own crowd of people who are like them! I mean there are a lot of posh people here, but there are also loads of normal people! But I'd definitely recommend visiting the campus so you can test out whether you like the vibe etc, then you'll see if you like the feel of it or not! Let me know what you decide :) x
Immy1995 thank you so much! x Haha I just got a little worried there . I wish I could test it out but I'm a foreigner so I have to go off of what the internet says. Hahaha, makes it a little confusing.
When u apply for accommodation, and u apply to Lafrowda,do u specify new Lafrowda or old Lafrowda? Because I don’t want to apply to Lafrowda and end up in old Lafrowda
Sorry for the late response but if you apply for en-suite and Lafrowda, you will be put into new Lafrowda. If you don't choose en-suite and choose Lafrowda, you will end up in old Lafrowda.
Thank you so much for your video, it is really helpful when you are about to choose your hall ! Could you help me just a little bit more with a piece of advice? I am balanced between going to Holland Hall (I would have love to see your previous video about it) or Lafrawda for my first year. Firstly, what do you think is the best for a first year, catered or self-catered? Secondly, is it possible to change of hall for the second year? Thanks a lot, hope hearing from you ! Bye
Héloïse Le Pape hello! I'm glad you liked the video! I think it kind of depends what you want! Holland hall is great cos it has a lot of luxuries and the food is amaaazing, but it is very cliquey! Lafrowda is good cos it has a lot of parties in the first term, which is fun and they have nice big kitchens! And lafrowda is a lot cheaper! As for catered/self catered - I enjoyed being catered cos it made life really easy and was a good way to meet people, but self catered is a lot cheaper and more flexible! Hope this helps xx
Hi great videos, super helpful! I am going to Exeter next year and have chosen Lafrowda, Rowe House, Birks and Duryard. Keep up the good work and thank you once again! x
I'm so glad you found my videos helpful! Let me know if there are any other types of videos that might be helpful too - I'm wanting to do a few soon! Those are really good choices - I'm sure you'll have the best time! x
Hey, brilliant video! I've been looking at accommodation over the past few days and I was gonna put Birks first, but just saw theyre gonna have building works through 2017/18. Have you heard anything about Northfield? That one looks really nice to me, but just a bit far out from campus. I'd love to know what the general feeling is about it! thanks!
Really sorry, but I don't think I know anyone who went there or have heard much about it! I only know someone who had a studio there and she found it a bit difficult to meet people, but I think it would be completely different if you shared a kitchen with a flat!
LMGames112 hey I'm staying in birks right now and will be in north field next year. It's not that far out from campus tbh (definitely a lot better from birk's location lol) and it's pretty close to town too. I guess it can be a bit hard to meet people if you stay there in ur first year since it is off campus but then again northfield reserves a whole block for first years so there will be people staying there too. You will get to know a good mix of people from all different years.
Hey I am going to be coming to Exeter this year. Im from India and I was going to apply to Holland Hall because I want a catered accommodation and it looked like it was the best. Im a little worried now as I read you didn't have quite a pleasant experience there. Am I making the right choice? Also, all your videos are really helpful thanks! :) x
Heyya! I think you'll have a great time - don't worry! Each intake is different and the facilities and food are amazing! plus, even if you don't meet people you really like in your halls, you can always meet people on your course or on societies! Let me know how it all goes! x
ktmusic hello! Sorry, I made that video private because I wasn't v happy with it (I wrote about it in the description), but if you have any questions about it I'm happy to answer them on here! ☺️
Immy1995 Hi! I will be studying in exeter in September and I am kind of worried; I received an offer for a single ensuite in holland hall a few months ago and accepted it since I thought it was a nice place and in a good location (and better than getting something completely random). Now that I have finally found youtubers who go to exeter everybody seems to perceive holland as a snobby type of place and since I definitely am not snob or cliquey at all I was worried about the social aspect and finding people I like! What was your experience like and how are the people actually? Do you know people who don't fit in the stereotype of holland hall and still managed to be happy there?
Hi Matilda! Honestly don't worry about it! The rooms are amazing and the location is perfect! Although I didn't like everyone there, I met my best friend from uni at holland hall and all the people I lived with in third year were from holland hall! There are definitely some really nice people there, you've just got to find out who they are! Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions! x
Holland Hall is nice great views e block or f block have great views more intowards the city.Sadly moberly is being knocked down soon and being rebuilt with more rooms.Upp run part of birks and lafrowda which are sub contractors for accommidation.Lopez Hall and mardon are the oldest buildings, as they where the old halls from years past love the libary in mardon, it over looks the tennis courts and near the doctors. Rule of thumb holland hall is very party ish place.
Hello. I'm ABDUL HAMID JAN Pharmacist from Pakistan. I did PHARM D Doctor of Pharmacy five years degree here in Pakistan now interested to study master in clinical pharmacy! But disappointed I think it's expensive???
Hi! I really like your videos! I'm planning on coming to Exeter next year! How much is it for an apartment like yours for a year? Do you know if there are any discounts? Thanks:)
Charlize Theron ahh right! Well they all vary hugely! I think your best bet is to email SID (student information desk) at the uni or someone for a price list! I think they're between £130-£250 a week depending on what you want!
Charlize Theron yeah sharing a house with a group is a lot cheaper! It is basically just first years who are in campus accommodation! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
Can you please tell some thing about Bonhay House. I am a new student from India. I just want to know whether is it safe for fresher student who is coming for the first time in a foreign University. Please give some information.

Immy1995 thank you! You've made me feel a lot better about my application choice. I'm from South Africa !
@@gina333 did you end up at exeter? if so how was it
Useful video! Joining Exeter in Jan 22. Does this video cover the off campus housing as well?

Lafrowda is the closest to the INTO Centre but all INTO students live in Duryard

Are part-time students allowed to live in the halls? Also, I am not a party type. Where do the students party? I like peace and quiet.
great video, may i know which hall is closest to st luke's campus?
Is Holland worth the extra 2k in comparison to birks or lafrowda
Hey! It depends really! The food and accommodation was amazing and v luxurious, but it is defo a lot more expensive, so it depends what you want! x
I’m going to the offers holders in March, did u go to the offers holders, are all the accommodations open up for show

Heyya! First years generally stay in halls, but are you asking about my current house? A room in a house is usually around £100 a week! ☺️
No sorry I was asking about a room in the uni campus, I'm coming as an Erasmus student and I'll be in third year:)
Charlize Theron ahh right! Well they all vary hugely! I think your best bet is to email SID (student information desk) at the uni or someone for a price list! I think they're between £130-£250 a week depending on what you want!
