I got one for my 2018 Model 3, I had to use the tape for the LED strip and I don’t have a USB in my glove box, but I didn’t need to route the wire all the way towards the back of the center console because it was easy enough through where the phone holder is. Probably worth redoing the pre-gen 1 with a pre-gen 1 car.
How does this look from the back seat, is the strip directly visible when tucked into the shelf. My concern is that it would be dazzling for back seat passengers. I do love the ambient effect from the front seat. This is a great option for ambient lighting.
just order one as my 2024 New Model Y did not come with the dash ambient light strip I was expecting. Now you just need to make something for the doors.
After installing this, will the rainbow lighting always be displayed when the car turns on/wakes up even if you configured a certain color? For example: if I choose blue light for the ambient lighting, leave the car to go to grocery shopping for an hour so the car is off, and then come back to sit in the car, will the lights remember I selected blue and only show blue (no rainbow)? I would buy this and recommend it to all my friends/family ONLY if it can remember what color was chosen so I don't have to keep using the app or physical button to select a color each time. 🙂
No the USB Hub will not fit RHD vehicles but the strip itself will have no problem. Tesstuff only ships to NA but once we open up to the rest of the world, we will adjust accordingly.
Unlike LH drive, there are no holes in the RH drive glovebox to run the wire through. Why Tesla made this different I don’t know. Only route into glovebox is in underneath where there is a gap by the hinge. So a bit messier. Great kit though.
Does anyone know if there is glare off the windshield during a night drive? I feel like almost all these products have the LED strip light reflecting off the glass..
How to know you're just the voice behind this product/video...If the USB interface connector is the "brain"; the light bar will react to vibration - why are you tapping the dashboard, when the "brain" is in your hand?
These LED lights are easily found for half the price of what your website is selling for and equally good. For $109, you can purchase the center stack and dashboard kit together for what you're asking for just the light bar. Come on bro...
We get emails all the time from people claiming this and asking for a price match but it's just not true. Most other sets you're seeing are missing an occupancy sensor, usb hub, app control, and or a proper length wire run. There are some other differences but those are the big ones we notice. U think that’s bad? Model 3 highlands ambient light strip is dimmer at night than this is during day.
I installed on a 2024 and it was quite easy but the lights aren't turning off when exiting the car.

How do you like the reflection it gives the windshield? I find it a bit distracting
I personally turned the brightness down to around 50-60% and the reflection isn't an issue.
