I don't see how it can work since you are only supplying steam to the one side of the cylinder. I don't see anything to push the piston in, just a way for steam to push it out.
I was prepared to disagree with you, but yeah I don't get it. If the piston releases the pressure at the end of its stroke, it would have to have been sealed off from the steam tank (and I don't see any mechanism to do this). The flywheel is the thing forcing the piston back, but this seems more like a crappy stirling engine than an actual steam engine, unless I missed something in the build.
The solution is simple: this is a stirling engine, that uses hot air instead of steam. The hot air does not need to escape, it only needs to cool down, which it does.
Could you generate enough electricity to run a hho generator that would feed back fuel to get the steam? I've been just trying to get into making diy generators. I want to combine steam, hho, and solar that only feel each other 🤷🏼
U could lead the exhaust back to a small cooling pot / tower that will convert the steam back to water and let it feed back in. But u would have to look that up. I know moonshiners use it to cool their moonsine. and u would need to make a one way valve so the steam cant enter trough the wrong side.
