    She's still ignorant because water Baptism "delivers no one."
    "Yet the grace of Baptism delivers no one from all the weakness of nature" - i.e. sin. (Catechism 978)
    Since water Baptism doesn't deliver anyone from their sins, they have to go to a sinner (a priest) in order to be "reconciled with God and with the Church."(980)
    Unfortunately, she didn't believe in the truth, the words of Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
    And Peter, the so-called first Pope, said of "the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth" in Acts (v.10):
    "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12)
    Salvation is only in Jesus Christ. He delivers sinners who have faith in Him alone, the "Lamb of God who [took] away the sin of the world."(John 1:29)

    • @tryingnottobeasmartass757
      @tryingnottobeasmartass757 Месяц назад +1

      All the weaknesses of nature ≠ sin.
      And Catholic and we Orthodox Christians practice the sacrament of confession precisely because WE DO believe in the truth, the words of Jesus Christ Who said to His Apostles, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained" (John 20:22-23). We believe the truth, the words of Jesus Christ Who delegated His authority to His Apostles when He said, "Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven; and so whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth concerning anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in Heaven" Matthew 18:18-19). We believe the truth, the words of Jesus Christ Who promised His Apostles the Holy Spirit will guide the Church into all the truth, when He said to them, "However when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He shall not speak from Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak," (John 16:13). We believe the truth, the words of Jesus Christ Who promised to always be with His Church when He said, "And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world," (Matthew 28:20). We believe the truth, the words of the Holy Spirit when He breathed out "Confess your sins to one another," (James 5:16). We believe the truth, the words of the Holy Spirit when He breathed out, "the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth," (I Timothy 3:15). And so, since...
      1) Jesus does not lie,
      2) and the Holy Spirit cannot lie,
      3) and the Church is the Jesus-protected and Spirit-led pillar and foundation of the truth,
      4) we believe the evidence of Scripture and Church History that the Apostles bore Christ's authority which they delegated to their successors the Bishops, who delegated some of that authority to the priests, so we confess our sins knowing that Jesus, Who died for our sins, hears us and forgives us through the sacrament. Here we stand. We cannot do otherwise. God help us. Amen.

    It seems like from her story as shown here her conversion looked to be about three points.
    A. She was convinced that being Catholic is a Christian religion, too.
    B. She converted as a way to remain with her husband to be and worship with him.
    C. She likes traditional worship better than contemporary.
    She converted to Catholicism, not because of their doctrine or because of a belief that this is the one true church, but because it was more appropriate because her spouse to be is Catholic. This was her preference, not a God ordained move. (She basically changed churches like. Protestant would change churches)

Easter orthodox for example. The problem is that according to Protestant,Roman Catholic and secular scholars, the was No singular bishop in Rome until about 140 AD from what we can see. Over time the Bishop of Rome became very powerful(Rome was the capital of the Empire). To say that it was Christ who founded it can’t be proven.

    One thing that has always stuck with me is Jesus preached the word of God not religion for all religion is man made. Different religions have their idea but most religious people are not committed and use it to prop themselves up and become self righteous. You do not need religion to be one with God. Most people do not even understand the Bible yet claim they are religious. Be true to God obey the 10 commandments. People look for what's in the Bible to justify the way they think and preach. Religions have their own interpretations. People who go to church want the feeling of community and they belong to something larger than themselves, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as you are truly committed. Do not use religion to prop yourself up and think you are better than anyone else

    • @tylerdean3489
      @tylerdean3489 2 месяца назад +6

      Religion is a set of beliefs. Jesus commands the apostles to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded of you”. What did He command them to do? Well, they preached about it! The deposit of the faith of the apostles as a system of beliefs is the Catholic faith. We believe what the Apostles believed. The Eucharist, Baptismal regeneration and following the bishop of Rome has been the universal, dare I say, Catholic, norm of Christianity until the great schism and the Protestant reformation. One’s own interpretation isn’t what the apostles imagined as the faith. You can have a relationship with God outside of the Catholic Church, but the fullness of what God intended for you is to be a part of His mystical body on earth and to consummate the new covenant with Him in the Eucharist. The fullness of faith lies within the teachings of the apostles, secured in the “pillar and bulwark of truth” as Timothy 3:15 states.

      The Catholic Church has always been against forced conversions. As the Catholic Encyclopedia on "Religious Toleration" states, the Church has "always taken great care that no one should be compelled against his will to embrace the Catholic Faith, because, as Augustine wisely declares: 'except he be willing, man cannot believe.'
      The Church's consistent teaching is that forced conversions are incompatible with the nature of faith, which must be a free response to God's invitation. The Church has consistently opposed coercion in matters of religion throughout its history.
      Giving reasons or testimony for your belief ≠ forced conversion
