i agree with you that those prices are insane! i've always wondered how they price these things out and if there's a ton of inflation, or if the materials used are really just that expensive. great vid!
I got the 3 pickup Les Paul Supreme recently and that thing is literally the best guitar I've ever played. Amazed me that it is even better than my Custom Shops and miles better than my Standards and Modern. It's flawless and effortless to play, can get pretty much any sound (even Strat-type tones) and looks stunning. The new headstock design is really rad. If this SG is anywhere near as good it will have me selling my other SG's. Plus, they look ridiculously cool. Kinda badass and fancy at the same time. Like a buff Tony Iommi in a 3 piece suit.
That’s a very good question. I think somewhere around $2,800 would be a lot more fair. It’s not made in the custom shop, and after all, it’s an SG, which isn’t a super expensive guitar (in Gibson terms)
I recently bought a guitar from a boutique guitar company called Woodrite and similar shape. When I heard Gibson announcement, was excited until I saw price tag. I bought guitar for a 1/2 of the price. Perhaps an Epiphone version coming later?
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also happy valentine's day Steve ❤😊
Thanks so much
you really know your stuff!! i love that “ebony wash” color-way a lot!

It’s a good mixture of both. Thanks!

What do you think the most suited price for these in your opinion, if you could decide on it's price?

I'll have to check out Woodrite. I doubt there will be an Epiphone version though.
