This discussion was not only very interesting but it also filled me with hope. Laura is in-effect going to affect young humans, teachers, parents... the demographic where a change in culture begins, and sometimes ends. I cannot thank her enough for what she is doing! I strongly believe that one person *can* make a difference; it isn't governments, etc., it is always one person, with a vision, or a small group of people that bring-about change. 👏🙏❤️🌱
36:19 From my experience on various social media platforms, it's actually not rare to come across people who just don't care about the lives of the animals they find utility out of using for clothes, tastebud gratification, etc, etc, etc
Teacher Laura certainly has the optimism and good will to make things happen! Yes, kids crave and need big-picture learning (I don't mean astronomy) ! They will have plenty of time to learn more and more about less and less later. Btw. I found the arguments in the crosspost - Imagining Ethical Schools, Sentientism 193 - simply irrefutable. Great job!

Not farm animals, animals who are farmed. Love that. Powerful reframing that doesn't deny facts, but emphasizes the problematic situation

I wonder if that book was Ingrid Newkirk's riveting "Free The Animals" book?

That same argument could be used to claim that the children who do "kind" acts ONLY do si because they've seen someone else do a similar thing.

I see no sufficient evidence at all of this belief; virtually the opposite appears to be true in fact.
