Always loved Cinderella! Funnily enough, when they released their second album, Long Cold Winter, a popular UK rock/metal magazine, Kerrang I think, described it as the best AC/DC album since Back in Black!
I was at a battle of the bands back in the early 90's and the guitarist for some goofy hairband smashed his only guitar on stage thinking it was the last song. The singer looked at him and whispered Dude, we weren't done the set yet. The audience applauded.
First time I heard Cinderella was the song Don't Know What You Got (till it's gone) and I had the same reaction when I heard his voice. Nice ballad song with piano intro and then his voice came in and was like "Woah!". lol Yes he does sound like AC/DC. I hate to toss my guitars around like what Cinderella did. lol My guitar's are like my kids. 🤣
Another great song by this band who i got to see back when i was still in High School is Shake Me! I saw them with David Lee Roth when he went solo in Kansas in the late 80's! Great band and very unique voice!
Good reaction. Cinderella was and still is a fav. How about the kids react to some Dokken....."It's Not Love" or "In My Dreams". Def Leppard "Hysteria" would be a good one too. Again good reaction by the kids as always, keep up the good work!! 🤘
My first exposure to Cinderella was when they opened for David Lee Roth at my very first concert back in 1986. Great show! Thanks again. Reaction Faction!🎸🍁
Cinderella was a bit different than other 'glam' bands. A lot of southern rock influence. The record 'Night Songs had so many good songs. Somebody Save Me, Nobody's Fool, Night Songs, etc. Actually had Bon Jovi's drummer record in the studio because they didnt have a drummer.
The kids should react to Lucretia by Megadeth, but NOT the 2004 remaster. This song has really groovy riffs and a majestic solo by Martin Friedman. Also, I am almost certain it is a clean song too.
I can’t be the only one that noticed Walker’s mischievous smile when he let the video run for a few seconds after Claire’s peace out, and the vinyl chair made a little fart sound. I’m a big Claire fan but that was funny.
I wondered if anyone would notice that. He is always up to something. I almost edited it out, but then I realized he was messing with her and he did it for you guys.
Don't worry, Tom always had a roadie catch it when he threw it. He never smashed one. lol Glad you love the boys that I was mad crazy about back in the day. BTW, you heard LILIAC yet? They have done amazing covers but also they have their originals. Try it. Thanks
Great reaction... A friend of mine plays guitar in Tom’s current touring band. And believe me, Tom still brings it, every night on stage. As a guitar player/fanatic, smashing guitars is not cool (but can be fun, sometimes)...🤣
He didnt smash it, he just tossed it, and his roadie caught it, watch the video for "The last mile" he does it in that video as well. (change Guitars).
I’ve had a crush on Tom since ‘86 when I saw the video for ‘Nobody’s Fool’ After everything he went through with his voice and to come back from all of it, you cannot have anything but huge respect for him. Tom is the reason I started walking again after 9 back surgeries in 4 months. I was told I’d never walk again and I had given up until my physical therapist came in with a teddy bear that had Tom’s face on it and said ‘Tom says you can do it. He wants you to walk. You don’t want to disappoint your lifelong crush, right? Now, get up and fight, fight for Tom’ and I did. He’s more than just a ‘rock star’ to me. He was my inspiration to not let my surgeries destroy me and my life. I’d give the world to meet him and tell him how much he changed me.
Cinderella was a band that had a little bit of a different sound from the other "hair metal" bands of the pre-grunge era (what I call the period of 1986 - 1990). Most of those bands went for a silky-smooth vocal style drizzled over flashy guitars. Tom's raspy voice did give Cinderella a bit of an AC/DC vibe, and it made them a distinctive contrast to most of the others. I went to an appearance they did at a record store one afternoon before they played a concert, and even in the middle of a sold-out tour, they seemed really surprised that so many people would come to a record store to meet them and get albums and posters signed by the band. MVR (Most Valuable Reactor) goes to Claire for the moments of genuine surprise at the sound of the voice and the guitar toss. When he threw that guitar, she reacted like she had just seen one of her brothers or her little sister hurl a toy across the living room. That gave me a good laugh. I wonder: is Walker going to hold down the fort with some solo or "watching with Dad" reactions while Claire is away on her trip, or did you guys batch up a bunch of reactions to help us all get our daily fix while she's traveling?
Dad, when all this virus stuff ends (it WILL eventually end) and life gets going again, you are going to have to take the kids to a concert so they can experience for themselves the energy and everything else that live music brings. A video of live music , while good, is not the same.
You two need to get your parents copy of this. If they have it, on vinyl or cassette from back then it will probably have the lyrics with. You will gain a little more perspective on what this song means. You guys are awesome, keep rockin'!
AC/DC? Just the other day, under a guitar education video I confessed that we had always taken Cinderella like "the AC/DC that is NOT boring even after 3 songs".
"So many amp" yea that was back in the day before they had the headset monitors everyone uses today. Big amps plowing through the PA and monitors pile on the front of the stage, was the only way you could hear anything.
Michael I've never considered hair/glam to be metal, it's hard rock. KISS, Van Halen, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Motley Crue, Dokken, Cinderella, Skid Row, Poison...all hard rock with the same basic song structures, themes and heavy reliance on radio friendly rock ballads. The comparison to metal bands is most likely due to the shredding guitars. Remember when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica as best metal band? Huge WTF!? slap in the face moment to the metal community.
So, given that I've only seen Cinderella in concert once...but, that once was with the Scorpions. So, another band to potentially add to the list...the Scorpions.
The destruction of guitars during a concert dates back probably longer than I've been alive Hendrix at Monterey Pete Townsend every other day and Ritchie Blackmore's logic from the band deep deep purple is that sometimes guitars get out of line and must be put in they're place it would be great if you could get those guitars at Dollar Tree to keep down the cost of putting on the show. Great analysis and a good band I remember back in the day and as one of your other followers quoted the singer's voice reminded me a little bit like Noddy holder from Slade
There are big differences between long-hair bands. Some did it for fame is strange ways, some were good musicians. These ones sort of matched with Poison, Kix, Warrant, Britny Fox, Bulletboys, Trixter etc. I think girls liked them for sort of dancing in performances, makeup, colors of their stuff like yellow, bright pink etc. ----------then there were raw ones who's focus was music, Badlands -- Skid Row -- Scorpions -- Dokken -- The Cult -- I'll just add Faith no More, since Mike has made music with over 100 bands, and Pantera, for being so good... I'll skip metal haha...
I never heard this song until watching your reaction. 😊. There’s a different song with the same name by Bruce Dickinson off of his 1990 solo album, Tattooed Millionaire. It’s a great song and worth checking out. ruclips.net/video/vnkWCuUQKzk/видео.html
