The third mini-album [REAL] of IU, one of the top K-pop solo female singers with her outstanding emotions and singing, has finally been released. The title song "Good Day" is another work by the outstanding team 'composer Lee Min-Soo -- lyricist Kim Ee-Na'.
The lyrics of the song portray a girl who is in love yet too shy to confess her feelings, expressing the sweetness and uneasiness of a girl's first crush in a pure yet honest manner. No doubt IU's mind-blowing vocals and her timid yet cute performance will make the hearts of all male fans race for her.
In the music video of "Good Day", IU acts out the young girl, honestly depicting the excitement of a crush. The music video contains dramatic structures with lively touches, gaining attention as Chung Jae-Hyung makes his appearance as a music fairy who encourages IU.

iu is the definition of stability and longevity in kpop industry. A industry where usually artists don't last more then 10 years, even if they last more they start to lose popularity. But iu is still gaining popularity , being respected and one of general public's favourite artist . In an industry where groups have more advantage , especially boy groups , she is still sranding tall. Coming from the very bottom now she is one of most legendary artist. Even after all the success she is still kind , humble and i think this kindness is also a key part of her success. I respect her so much especially as a woman. A great inspiration for the younger generation of girls

It's my first time watching/hearing this song today. When I heard that line, I was like, "Oh yeah, that's a pretty high note." I thought that was it (because it was also a long one) . But then it went higher. And then even higher. I was astounded. I just love IU.
Seeing this again make me remember.

Here again after I just watched her live in LA for the first time (Aug 2, 2024), at the final stop of her very first World Tour!!! IU was one of the first k-pop singers I really liked (when I discovered K-pop and K-dramas in 2010/2011) and it was simply amazing and a blessing to see and hear her in person, 14 years later! She really is as cute and pretty in person, and with an incredibly beautiful voice! She's so sweet and her English is quite good too. Wishing all the best for her in all stages of her career - I'm an even bigger fan now!

Lee ji eun, known as IU, was born on 1993 in Songjeong-dong Seul.
When she was young, she didn't understand how things worked, she didn't know the reason why her parents took the decision of taking her and her brother to go to their grandma's house and live there. When she grew up, she understood that their parents didn't have the resources to take care of them.
When she decided to be a singer, many agencies didn't accept her.
She lived with her grandma most part of her life.
I think it's really stupid that the people hate iu only because JungKook likes her, he likes her cause iu is a great singer, she is beautiful and really cute.

it is definitely not an octave, she goes up a fifth, then a half step then a half step again. octaves are "eighths" apart, it's not interchangeable with high note. if she went up 3 octaves it would be above mariah carey whistle notes! would sound like a high pitched ringing and not a human lol

Of course there are better songs, IU herself has better songs but the impact of this song was very long-lasting.

First you have this girl who looked slightly plump with a hairstyle that made her looked old getting rejected time and time again by agencies.
Then, she finally got recruited but debuted with too mature and deep a concept for her age (Lost Child).
Next, LOEN went all mainstream and tried the typical exaggerated cuteness concept (Boo and Marshmallow). Tried and tested right? Wrong. She didn't fit that image and songs like those couldn't showcase her voice.
And then this happened.
GOOD DAY. Fantasy related unique concept, check. Enough tone variation to showcase voice, check. Fits her image, check. Slimmed down to fit the image even more, check.
And just like that, BAM! Most popular female vocalist in Korea, nation's little sister, ideal type for most male idols. Propelled to SUPERSTARDOM.
