I have a 2008 Mondeo and love it. It's the Titanium spec with the less common 5-pot 2.5T petrol. Has a lovely burble sound to it, pulls well in all gears, makes a great sleeper.
Really made me smile this whole episode about farewell to the mondeo, got a 2000 Mondeo ST24 and its not my first and it was like loosing a mate when the last one had to be scrapped, taking much better care of this one as its becoming rare and ofc being the first car in the ford line to wear the ST badge :D
I cried a bit when Jeremy did I mean I remember watching the first episode of season 1 so I grew up with them. Thank you top gear/grand tour for always being there when I was down and out.
Seeing this makes me very sentimental. My first car that I bought outright by myself was a 2000 Ford SVT Contour which was the American version of the very car they drive in this video, albeit without the wagon bit and only having 200 bhp not 220. Either way that was an epic little car and I know exactly why they all love it. I did get emotional myself seeing the end of this episode. New Top Gear started the year I graduated from High School. It is crazy to think that for all but one year of my adult life these three Gentlemen have been making my favorite show. It's strange to actually think about something that has been a part of your life for such a long time ending in its current form. However, I look forward to what they do next!

i think when the time comes Jeremy's grave should have a motion activated speaker which screems "power" as you walk past maybe followed by screeching brakes and crashing sounds lol
They could always do a show like a “After the Walking Dead” or something where they can sit down together after the episode and discuss their project. Call it “Pit Stop” or something and have fans/crowd members.
Top Gear consolidated my passion for cars. My taste in cars is very similar to the trio's preferences and I was delighted to read, years ago, that the only car they all three liked was the Mondeo. As a proud owner of a Mk3 petrol model, I can only say thank you for a perfect finale.

The newer Mondeos looks like a totally different car compared to those that came before...so freaking huge...and good looking too.
They look like a family. Jeremy as the father, James as the mother with his long hair then Richard in the back like a tiny child
Barstards had me in tears when I didn't even shed a tear for Top Gear Ending. Then they say we are doing specials and the worst part of Grand tour is ending but they will make specials. Can't wait. They are the best.
Hey at least they'll still go on with adventures, everyone. Though will miss the tent 😭.
I will😔
Everything they love mashed into one perfectly adequate car
Hammond: practicality
May: comfort
Clarkson: *POWERRRR*
I've never LOVED hearing a group of men talk about the things they HATE more than these 3
What i love about these guys, is that I know for a fact that they are not just saying all this to be modest or just to try and relate with the average viewer. They actually mean what they say. They have driven it all and they still for the most part drive average cars.
That EXACT FORD MONDEO was my family's first car. It was such a piece of junk... But I loved it! 😍😍
A rare occasion of all 3 in one car...man the love these guys have brought between man and machine
There has been several occasions- Cadillac BLS to radio staton, Avantime, Espace cabrio, caravan holiday, hovervan, geoff. Also car sauna, musical chairs in an old hatchback
@@audiofiil still a rare occasion compared to how many episodes made trips they’ve had
Mondeo is still the most comfortable car I’ve ever been in
They all liked the Renault Avantime! This was a word for work conversation when they were in the Avantime in Top Gear Season 12
I love bits like this, where they’re just bouncing off each other. It’s why I will miss Conversation Street
My uncle had one, he loved that and crashed it. RIP Uncle. I used to call that car Uncle as a child because that car was like good uncle who cares about you.
I just watched this episode at home.... and all I have to say... PLEASE, PLEASE..... do not stop!!!! Please! Friday nights will never be the same, or.. it will be the same before The GT!!!! all the best from Marcos, Brazil!!!
There is a series 4, with only specials after this one has ended that starts next year (most likely) 😃
I hope they'll put out a weekly or monthly little news segment like Conversation Street on RUclips or something--their banter is just so entertaining to watch
Yet in old Top Gear Jezza sang the praises of the AWD Jaguar X Type estate!
I love the Mondeo ST200❤❤❤❤❤
I remember hammond rant about nissan juke that was funny, It breaks my heart they ending so soon, please dont stop😢
The greatest car show. . . . . .in the world.
It’s not a feeling we haven’t felt before, like when they left the BBC back in 2015.
They won’t return to the tent, but they’ll never leave our hearts. Been there since 2002.
We'd love the Mondeo over here, but Ford isnt interested in selling us a Fusion station wagon.
And AWD fusion wagon with the 2.7TTv6 would be amazing.
They also loved each other's cars in the Australian Outback episode of Top Gear. Nissan GT-R, Bentley Continental GT, BMW M6 GC.
"I like the speed" SURPRISE!!!!!
All car enthusiasts love fast, fun to drive wagons, and the Mondeo ST is exactly that, the boys also all like the Subaru Outback.
Renault Aventime. They all liked it in Top Gear few years back.
Thing is it's a forgettable car as it sold in such tiny numbers. Nobody even remembers it till someone mentions it
had Fords for 20 years now, first a 98 Mondeo Ghia, now a 2016 Mondeo Tit X, never had any trouble... just awesome cars
You can see how much it meant to Jezza loosing the tent/studio format. It was his baby, shame he never got a true send off from Top Gear. At least we have some great specials to look forward too.
Don't stop doing what you do, always give me a lift.
Jackie Stewart used to be a major advisor for Ford years ago, I think that might've helped
EDIT: His autobiography shows this in more detail
I've heard that the Grand Tour is coming to an end too, that's sad but I really hope that these three come together and just do to random podcast together or something, doesn't have to be live. That would be bloody awesome.
What an absolutely heartbreaking episode.
That's weird because they've previously said they all like the Renault Avantime, Subaru Legacy Outback, Land Rover Discovery (and possibly the Vauxhall Insignia, I can't remember for certain though)
Just noticed that when he says "i like the speed" his Doncaster accent comes back a bit haha
Gavin Wheeldon no he did that on purpose
My dad had the saloon and it was a great car the seats amazingly comfy and when ya put ya foot down it can shift.
Back to watching James May on youtube going on about elevators 😂😂😂😂
The ford mondeo was a world´s sensation back in ´94 and still is. It´s the car that all have fond memory´s of! I´ve had a ´96 1.8 hatchback mondeo, great car! Currently drive a 2.0 ´03 hatchback mondeo again great car. Ford is car for the people!
i COULD be wrong but on "old gear" didn't they say they also all like the Renault Avantime
Yes! I want an Avantime so bad 😢
Forgotten maybe
avantime, outback but ive im not mistalen when the mk4 mondeo came out they all said that they loved the old one which i thought was the mk3,which jeremy also said had one of the best fwd chassis' ever
Not wrong there. Ford Mondeo & Renault Avantime are their only 2 favourites.
Suzuki Swift also I think they all liked that
I shed a tear with Jeremy when he announced the end of the grand tour.
I love this scene. Thank you for that. I like to see it and hear it again and again. :-)
Just watching the finale. Gorgeous. It's official, Grand Tour is now better than TG.. Have loved this series. Thank you so much.
What about Renault Avantime? They all loved that car, didn't they?
Joseph Andreanus Wijaya - Fords just better
I wonder what happened to the Renault Avantime? I mean, you three liked it, didn’t you?
redskibunny1 Pretty sure they also liked the Subaru Legacy Spec-B or.... some other Legacy model
I'm going to buy my second Mondeo now.
Love our subaru legacy too.
There's no better way to bond with friends other than to chat shit about things you all hate
