“Rambling About” is a blend of everything you see in seprate synth videos. It includes:
Review elements: Sharing my subjective opinions, thoughts, and takes.
Tutorial elements: Walking through the functions in an almost video manual style.
Demo elements: Providing sound examples for quick comparisons or patch ideas.
All of this is combined into a vlog-style format, full of tangents, rambling, and broader thoughts. My hope is to provide value through this mix of all these.
P.S. Don't do yourself down!!! Everyone's experience with Eurorack is valuable. I totally appreciate your insights into these modules and your workflow. We are all learners!
Great video. Love your take on eurorack. Also love the OFF! shirt, too. Keith is my fav black flag singer.
@@jeffb01 mine too, wonder how many eurorack punks are out there 🤔
I feel like you are saying my internal monologue out-loud. feel the same about simplicity and drum modules 😂
had a feeling im not alone hahaha
I’ve a long history with samplers..😟 I’m “looking at” the ALM Salmple to put in my rack, but am takin a long, hard look at the candidates bc I don’t enjoy the learning curve..
best i’ve had thus far, i am borrowing an assimil8r so video will be up on that soon
If you like wavetables you should check out the Piston Honda mk3, or any of its versions but the 3 is what’s up in my opinion, and I’ve owned all of them.
@@mikegeary8056 just sold my PHmk3 to pick up a ziqual dimension mk3
Sampling gate sequences and modulating the start and end points can be really cool especially if you like glitchy stuff
@@mikegeary8056 there’s so much still to discover!
i never realized sALMple.....
I always thought it was salmple like salmon, but I think both interpretations are valid. Enjoyed the video, now I have to put more effort into using mine.
i actually found it was even looking to noodling with it after, might need to check for a gas leak lol
1:47 THATS ENOUGH
I just started using the choke group settings and it really oped up a new dimension for me
@@mikegeary8056 I bareeeely scratched the surface in this video!
I use the BitBox Micro... I can agree with you to an extent about the work flow but I have more or less got my head around it. I don't really use it for drums, I use it for bits of speech, FX, and to bring polyphony into my rack without masses of modules! It's also really useful in live performance (which I do a lot) and it's also got the ability to record CV and play it back. I'm sure the Squid is also a really good option. I also agree with you about Pams!!! Oh, heck... you summed that up beautifully.
that screen for easy manual playback is a huge plus too!
@@tafonyreynolds Oh indeed... that was how I first used it, just triggering samples and noises from the screen. I still do that but have now got it paired up with a Hermod+ (another long learning curve... still not quite got there yet!). The combination is great!
@@AndyVonal funny you agree on pam’s, wonder how much stuff like that i’m not alone on
