Thank you for BLOWING my mind. I was SUPER ignorant. I just bought a gripper today and figured I'd search around for tips. Thanks for this video.
I’ve just done the same thing myself lol. How has your grip improved after 9 years?
I got my first hand grippers when I was about 12-13, and now I´m 17. After about 2 months, my grip was VERY strong, like squeezing another persons hand. But I´ve noticed that if I use it too often, like 4 days a week, my forearm really hurts, so I´m only doing this 2 days a week plus my arm workout that includes forearm exercise in the gym and ALOT of stretching of the forearm, thank you for your time!
Hi 27 year men
yw
I bet that he doesn't even remember writing this comment by now
hello
You're 27 man now!
The instruction on how to grip it resulted in immediate improvement. It almost doubled my max rep count, was able to do 120 consecutive squeezes in a breeze.
Damn, what weight resistance are you using? I prefer to use the most difficult gripper that I possibly can close and I do sets of about 25, and I do sets of 25 with each hand about 10 sets per day spread out throughout the day
Well explained and comprehensive video. You answered many of my questions.
12 years and he still heart comments
Dude looks like a buff Steve-O 😂
lmao
..was looking for this comment :D
This guy stole the exact same comment here that was made 1 year earlier

Theres littlebit difference but its almost the same
Lol I had to look real closely to see it.
this vid was awesome i would have never thought there was so many variations and techniques in grip training
thanks lee... very interesting
ok

Thank you Mr Hayward! Never knew there is so much to learn only to do a hand gripping!

I keep my grips in my car , so that while I'm driving I can work on my grip. I've noticed a huge difference in my hand strength especially my weak points ! How do I know this ?....as I did shrug exercises before I couldn't hold the weight for to long because the pinky side of my hand started to to fatigue and and my hand would start to open up but ever since I started doing these grip exercises I noticed more reps in before I feel fatigue in my hands with heavy ass weight.I didn't just notice a difference in hand strength with shrugs i noticed it with curls, deadlifts, uprightrows basically every exercise I do now .these grips work.
Ordered the first 4 in strength and looking forward to using them! I was one of the people hassling you for a forearm workout, so thanks :-)
Lee - I'm also interested in your opinion on resistance cables for forearm workout? Maybe these will feature in your compete forearm workout at a later date?
Very useful tips.
Holding the gripper high in the hand makes it much easier to close.
Lee is amazing....and his videos are very informative. God bless
Just bought these exact ones today .. hopefully I can see a difference in the next few weeks :D Thanks for the tips!
never thought there is so much to it. great video
Glad you found it helpful. Once you start going down the rabbit hole any exercise can get very complex LOL
i like the pinky/ring finger tip. makes a lot of sense
Which gripper book do you recommend? This is great info thx!!
coc grippers are the best...more consistant tension in springs, and springs that don't weaken as much over time.
You didn't mention at what speed we should do the grip reps? Like do them rapidly? Or slowly press it and then release it???? Hold it pressed down for a while before releasing?
Got a gripper today. This really helped.
@leemhayward Thanks for replying to my question, I got a pair of these 3 days ago and used them quite a lot, I feel because I have small hands I may need a small set of grippers, but I have only ever seen one size, their wooden handled, but they will be very durable. I'll continue doing them daily. Thanks again.
where is the jerking of manual? I think I might have done something wrong for years!
@leemhayward r these really all that good ? thinking about getting them feed back from others will be good thanks :)
hey............ it was a nice and helpful video. Can i workout with my hand gripper daily? if not then what should b the workout schedule for hand gripper with how many reps and sets? Thanks..
@BeastBenchers Most have to make some. Complete 20-25 repetitions of a gripper, so that they can close a gripper on the next strength. When you can do 10-12 repetitions whole, it is recommended to switch power, so you can start to train on a harder gripper.
How often should I work with my grippers? I'm just beginning and can close the 100lb easily 15 times, but 150lb I'll need assistance after 10 or so, and can barely close the 200lb.
Is every other day, 3x per week good enough? I don't want to overkill and I understand there's more than just using grippers to getting great crushing strength. Thanks!
4 times a week :
warm up
50lbs 5 reps
100lbs 5 reps
150lbs 10 reps
work sets
200 4 reps
200 4 reps
200 5 reps
200 4 reps
150 14 reps
Inverted
150 5 reps
100 20 reps
100 22 reps
100 22 reps
this may sound like a stupid question, but do grippers actually help build any mass on the forearms, or this only achieved through using weights as such.
@leemhayward Hey man - do you ship to the UK ?
P.S What song is that at the start of the video ? (0:00-0:10) :D
what do you recommend to eat after this specific exercise?
Are you doing something wrong if it's hurting your hand? or is that because I'm not used to it?
I am 13 years old . I also have power grip exerciser . I do 20 reps at morning , afternoon , evening and at night . Will my height will get blocked by doing this exercise .
I seem to have some wrist problems , but no doctor or anyone sees anything wrong with them , after a hard workout with dumbbells or even pushups the top of the wrist possibly the muscle on the join hurts when i bend it , should i use the hand grippers ? really want to try , maybe it will help my problem.
Thanks for the video man. I checked out your other ones too, and realised, that you like adventure too, just like me. Nice.
I have a question though. While we do the grip exercises, does the position of the forearm matter? I mean, does it make any difference if the forearm is at 90 deg to the upper arm, or say at 180 deg?
can I do it anytime of the day??or I need to do this during forearm workout only? please reply
I really need an answer for this question that is probably asked by every1 here! Does the hand gripper build more muscles on your hands?!?!? if not... then how come all people that enter the gym after a while they get a bigger and all muscely hands? what trainings do they do!? please reply lee. :)
Anybody notice Dani California by RHCP playing in the background
Hai there, I'd like to ask you a few things. Firstly, what's the right number of repetitions that I need to do with the gripper in order to train correctly and build up my grip strength after continuous training?
Cheers dude. Great explanation. Been looking for an explanation like this for aaaaages!
Hmm, i want the grippers, do they deliver to the Republic of Ireland? I do grappling and i could imagine having a megastrong grip would give me an edge.
Great instructive video.Thx.
Invaluable information. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I've noticed that my palm is leaning backwards when gripping. if trying to hold my palm straight from my wrist up, it feels doing wonders to my grip. Get's way more harder but after training feels so much better.
I can close CoC 1 fully for reps when allowing my palm to move, but seem to struggle a bit with CoC T with wrist held straight. Can get a few good reps (fully closed, with the clashing sound) and then my hand is done :D But feels i've really worked my grip and my wrists.
wow the ring and pinky finger tip is insane
if you've never used hand grips should you start like at the bottom like weight training or would I be able to go into a heavy hand gripper thingy?
@leemhayward so Lee, the curved handle, it should be put against the 4 fingers, and the straight leg, against your thumb right?
Nice tips, thanks Lee
Hi Hayward! Is this device good for muscle building/shaping in the region between the elbow and the wrist?
Do I train every day with it? I am a very professional
What is the right way to grip a dumbble with palm grip or with finger grip
Sick of the wrist curl as my left doesn't have as good a grip as my right. Besides we need variety. I'll check this out. Cheers.
How long does it usually take for most guys to get the 350lb gripper? I can get the 250 on 3 times, 300 about half way, and can barely move the 350lb one. I'm hoping to get it in 2-3 months. I intend to work on pyramid sets from 100-250 with each hand to work myself up.
Around 4 years
There is some kind of pressure in wrist after 4 days of using hand gripper. Is that normal sir
I just read that this helps bring down high blood pressure. do you have anything to add to that?
It does make you feel very secure.
In general, gripping and trusting your grip... it feels different
Appreciate the tutorial on this Hand Grip.... Blessings 😇
Glad it was helpful!
Hey i have a question, i have like these grippers that i just bought off a sale in the mall, and its like plastic grippers wrapped in foam if im right? Anyways its only been my 3rd day doing this and at first it feld hard, but now on the 3rd day its really easy now, so my question is, Can i do handgrip exercises everyday? And should i buy new grippers? Thankss man.
Thanks man this has really been helpful.
I would like to order hand grippers from your side just to get your book but I already have the complete set of grippers. Is there another way I can get your book without ordering the grippers?
Hello,thanks for advice !
How many days per week should I do this training ?
Can I do it everyday ?
Very informative!! Thanks a lot❤️
Hmm.. when i use grippers, i can close them, but after a few reps of 10.. the skin around the joins in my fingers ( that are in contact with the grippers ) are sore.. am i doing it wrong or is it simply just the grippers rubbing against my fingers?
does it matter where knuckles are positioned to the forearm, do I want my knuckles straight with my wrist during this or can I have can I have my knuckles more extended and top of wrist aligning with thumb?
does this also help strengthen the wrists?
I ordered the set few days ago 🤗
Appreciate the information thanks 🙏🏼 helped me a bunch
Thanks for sharing very helpful
Glad you found it helpful, grippers are an awesome training tool.
you acquired those arms with only the hand grip?
Nice tips.
My hand from using the hand grippers for a little bit ache a little, and they feel strained while working them, but I dont seem to be feeling anything from my forearms. Is this normal?
Do wrist rollers help with grip strength or just size?
How many days a week should I do this exercise?
Is it normal for my elbow to feel a pain (not bad pain just a odd little pain) when doing the pinky ring finger only workouts
I can squeeze the 100s pretty easily. Can I do high reps with them, and low reps / long holding with the 200s? My goal is to also build bigger hands, not just strength. I recently built a wrist roller myself, which gives me a great pump in my forearms.
Where in your arm does it affect?
Really useful man, thanks.
I want to ask you that i want to order heavy gripper full set to Kuwait. Can you tell me that how much will be the cost of the shippment from TNT or DHL?
thx
What if my upper forearm is slightly sore after bicep curling 2 days ago, can i still do these gripper workouts?
You remind me Steve-O at his golden years, just buffed.
Helpful video too!
Reminds me also a Little bit Iván "Pudge"Rodríguez
To anyone here..... Which way builds hand grip strength the best - reps or squeezing and holding? Or is it best to mix it up. Just staring out with hand grippers (100 lbs) and not sure of the best way to improve my grip strength the fastest. Thanks!
Mixing it up will be the best, but one thing that I've found better than anything is max effort single rep sets of heavy grippers. Most people train their grip with sub maximal effort for long duration (i.e. holding weights, carrying things, etc.) But single rep max effort grip work provides a unique level of muscle stimulation.
@@TotalFitnessBodybuilding Thanks for that info. So are you saying if I'm using 100 lb. (which I can almost close), I should maybe grab a 200lb and close it as much as I can? And should I hold that as long as possible?
Question: I've been working with the 150 lb grippers from Heavy Grip for about five months now, and it's become nearly child's play to close, but the CoC 2, which is around the next level, is still giving me much trouble. (I can only do one rep, and not hold it very long). Is this normal, or have I probably been training incorrectly? How many reps should I be doing on a gripper if I have mastered it? Thanks!
You should try rest after 4 days training. I recommend this routine:
warm up
50lbs 5 reps
100lbs 5 reps
150lbs 10 reps
work sets
200 4 reps
200 4 reps
200 5 reps
200 4 reps
150 14 reps
Inverted
150 5 reps
100 20 reps
100 22 reps
100 22 reps
Hi...I'm 14 years....and I'm 5'2. So will this reduce my height?
yo lee how many sets and reps should i do with the hand grippers wen i use them?
How many reps do u close it nd sets? Like close it 15 times both hands nd give it a 45 sec break nd go for the 2nd set then do another 15 ???
Then if I do weight lifting.....will it reduce my height?
you can also make it harder if you grip the gripper further up.
i have one but i never acutally gave it much thought on how it could help me
Great explanation! Thanks!
useful video ty, I was doing it wrong the whole time
Hey lee, please reply this question. I need to know how often i should work my forearms ? currently im doing once a week. barbell wrist curl, dumbbell wrist curl and standing barbel wrist rotation. I really want my forearms to be big like Popeye's :)
4 times a week
Nice post Lee; I'm definitely gonna give that ring & pinky exercise a try with my grippers!
did you try it
I just ordered the 3 of these hand grippers(100, 200, and 300LB). Is this going to be a good range workout or is there too much difference between the three? Also is the 100LB really easy? (I have tried forearm exercises in the past so I am not a beginner)
Thanks
Top much difference
You have to get ones that are closer.
Like 100, 150, 200 and 250.
Your ones have too much difference and you won't be able to easily fo from 100 to 200
is there any diffrens between Bonecrusher grippers or Heavy grippers?
I usally do about 3 sets of 15 reps
For the hand gripper
Do we use 2 handgrip (1 for each arm at the same time) or use 1 handgrip ?
It's best to use 1 gripper at a time and focus all your energy on each hand individually. With heavy duty grippers they are so hard that you won't be able to use 2 at a time.
@@TotalFitnessBodybuilding oh okay.thanks for your reply and explanation. Nice channel.
