Through sheer coincidence, me and David Frankal were planning the same video at the same time - his is released at this exact moment, so check it out here for more historical context - ruclips.net/video/wILBGrNm3hs/видео.html

Walked from Macclesfield to Marple along this route in its early days. There have been many improvements since 1997.
These days I also use gliders and light aircraft to follow former railway routes.

The part from Macclesfield to Bollington makes me enjoy greatly the bike network I have in my area. I mean, in QC cities at least the bike paths are paved, with road numbering, stop signs and destination signs on the most important. Yes, the most important one in my area is a former rail track and is in gravel in rural areas, and being closed off in winter, but it's a lot better than the unfortunate life decisions that went on designing that segment!

This was really enjoyable to watch and loved the music as well, very nice. Think Higher Poynton is the only place you allow to ride the bikes on the platform lol!

Love the Middlewood Way. Walked it one spring day from Marple to Macclesfield and it was amazing (not going to lie, took the train back to Stockport 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

Looks amazing and peaceful. With less traffic. How nature is still alive today despite with the constant pollution on the roads and with new homes being built on flood plains which are at risk of flooding.

Bollington's much nicer coming in from the north; the view off the viaduct towards White Nancy to the south east :)
