Genuinely disgusted yet amused by the fact that the first game’s sprites are literally ripped FROM stardew. Like, they’re not just suspiciously similar, they’re literally stolen assets.
Even more disgusting. I just checked the price of both Stardew and isle of elenor and the stolen knock off it literally more expensive (Stardew: $17.99 nzd / bootleg: $18.49)
@@sikuaq1035 I’m thinking it probably started as one and at some point they decided they wanted to charge for it and made it into a full game, just stealing and tracing the assets that were unique to stardew
Fun fact from a useless botany nerd! Corn is actually a grass! Its original form looked like a big stalk of wheat, and then turned into what we call maize, and eventually was selectively bred into modern day corn.
Descending the woods looks like an INSANE co op horror game, i hope they polish it up more because it could very easily be the next thing i force my friends to play
If you want something kinda similar, or at least what I thought, the game 7 Days to Die has the same concept. Every 7 days is a horde of zombies that come for you, so you spend that time building up a base, farming, hunting, collecting. I love playing it with friends
Just watched the start of the Isle of Elanor section, and IMMEDIATELY caught that the dnd style stats and stuff are ripped directly from Divinity Original Sin (people who made bg3), so not even that has any semblance of originality lmao
I had actually wanted to make a video on Isle of Elanor but it was so boring and hard to follow that I didn’t make it far enough. I commend you for actually playing
the last two games seem genuinely so fun. the art and animation in the final one alone definitely makes it worth the price, the fact that it's a game as well is just a really good bonus. and the one in the woods seems like a great time with friends. 2 out of the 3 games being pretty solid is definitely a lot better than i was expecting!!
First one: The reason you start of with negative reputation is because the character remains after the player leaves, and every player does a chaos run before leaving the game. The cycle continues with each new player, who obviously doesn't "remember" the antics of the previous player who controlled the character before.
@@lasennui that would be an intresting way to program an experimental indie game, but I wouldn't expect that level of effort or care from developers with the audacity to charge $20 for stolen assets
The second one is basically janky 3d Darkwood. So if you want a *good* horror game about spooky woods and barricading farm houses to survive the night check that out.
11:30 reminds me of a news report i did an essay on in highschool. Man got locked in his uncle's shed after an argument. Proceeded to take apart his lawnmower, tools, the shelves, and eventually broke the door down.
I’ve seen people recommend Darkwood as an alternative to the second game, but I also want to shout out We Harvest Shadows. It’s a very similar concept of ‘run a haunted farm’ but executed way better (also only single player)
I feel like isle of elanor would work better as a… stardew mod, rather than it’s own game, with how it looks so far. It just feels like stardew valley with reputation and dnd stats and a different story. It could possibly be made in a mod. But idk how to mod, it could be much harder than I’d assume
I'm super happy that I got this video recommended to me, as I super adore your creator persona and demeanor! Your editing is super fun and I love your humor, definitely my cup of tea. Descending The Woods reminds me so much of a game called Darkwood. It has a similar premise (minus the farming) but is top-down, singleplayer, and more focused on surviving a forest that wants to kill you and sheltering yourself in abandoned lodges and farmhouses. Also, that Stardew Valley rip-off had me laughing and facepalming so hard.
The Faction tab from Isle of Elanor reminds me heavily of Caves of Qud. Same layout, same wording... and especially the weird concept that each group of animals and monsters are a faction that has an opinion on you. Also: I love that you are skilled in warfare!
