Aye Yo did it. It was that song that fully got me into NCT127. With Favourite they came close but this time I dove right in. I like lots of groups but NCT127 are really top tier in everything. Vocals, rapping, dancing and especially the music they put out. I love how much R&B influence they have in their songs. I also watched their Dingo Killing Voice and that totally sealed the deal. I am officially obsessed, just a bit mad it took me so long!

Since the very beginning of NCT (with 7th Sense in 2016), their storyline has been based on Dreams, the unconscious and Jungian concepts of the collective unconscious in which they can share and communicate with each other beyond their waking lives. They have played with Inception-type ideas multiple times and the Best Friend Ever MV really reminded me of that. Layers of dreaming and communication; it's woven through many of their songs and concepts, especially when NCT get together for their big cross-unit collabs like Empathy album in 2018 or Resonance in 2020. It's not super important to enjoying their videos but it's fun to see how they weave those ideas through MVs and teasers over the years.
Love the dream concepts, they really go all-out with them! Even when it's much more subdued, it really brings a sense of something foreboding. When it's super hyper realistic like this mv is, it's just a crazy ride of fun haha.
