  • This is a short-cut for fixing a sagging chair - it's not the ideal way but it is quick, cheap and easy and will probably serve its purpose for awhile. The proper way to fix a sagging chair is to re-strap with high quality strapping, but that can involve high degrees of difficulty depending on how the chair is constructed. Taking your chair to an upholsterer will also solve the problem but can get pricey quickly.
    What you will need:
    1/2" Pex Tubing
    7/16 Wooden dowels
Pex cutter (preferred; hacksaw could substitute)
Something to cut the wooden dowel (I used pruning loppers but otherwise a saw)
    Tape measure
    Sharpie or marker
    Optional: utility knife and staplegun
