As a fellow bills fan I agree. I think they're looking at it as Khalil Shakir can play a Diggs role, Keon Coleman replacing Davis, and Curtis Samuel being able to do what they always wanted Isaiah McKenzie to be. I agree I think they're all fairly versatile too, especially Samuel. Samuel had over 600 yards 2 years in a row with Washington, there's a world that he can be a 1000 yard receiver with Allen. I hope he's our 3rd best receiver but I also think he's a better player than most realize. Kincaid and Knox and Cook are still there too. And I never thought Davis was very good, so the only real loss for me was Diggs. And we won't replace Diggs with another player, but now we can maybe be a little more unpredictable on offense and not have to target someone 10 times a game to keep them happy. I am not sure people really saw how much our offense struggled last year trying to run through Diggs and Davis. Later in the year when we were balanced and targeting Shakir and Kincaid more underneath we were far more efficient and effective. Its so lazy for these analysts to try and put every freaking wr in the slot. Im not a Bills fan but literally thats what all these analysts do i swear its like 90% of every draft only produces slot wrs according to them. Keon Coleman will be an outside wr guaranteed
Kinda surprised as a Bills fan. But then again, you were low on us last season. Plus, it’s certainly a transition season for us. Let’s hope we can finally break through this year!

As a Bills fan I agree with the ranking. Too many question marks and unproven aspects to be ranked among the top teams . Also, you echo the thoughts of many fans on McDermott; he’s good but really doesn’t seem like the coach that will get us over the elite teams especially in the playoffs where his defense constantly disappoints. Loved the analysis!
@@donaldjgumpofficial5754 He had the Bills ranked 17th in defense last year and best I can tell they finished 3rd in PPG defense, 8th in yards per game defense and they weren't all that healthy IIRC.
Damn Marcus, leaning into the take a bit too much here for my taste. No question that the Bills had a cap situation to nip in the bud here. You’ve underrated Benford and Taron Johnson, the O-Line, and somehow Josh Allen. If you watched the divisional you should know the only guys in the conversation for best passer in the league are JA17 and Mahomes. Josh should have immense confidence coming into this year with how he played in the second half of last year - how are you saying he could have been MVP last year but he’s not elite tier???
Happy someone had the balls to say the bills have taken a step back. Might not feel good for bills fans in the short term, but i think this was necessary so that theyre not locked down financially on past their prime/aging players
I agree. Moving on from their aging, injury-prone secondary in Tre White, Micah Hyde, and Jordan Poyer definitely hurts, but they definitely have some untapped talent especially at CB. I think the Bills will lead the league in 12 personnel with Knox and Kincaid and run the ball a lot more this year. Josh Allen is still a beast, and have a high floor because of him.
So the Bills were 7th in the league in rushing yards last year. James Cook was 4th in rushing Yards last year, got most of his yards after Joe Brady took over. My opinion, James Cook hit a wall last year, he had never been used so much in a year. Tired and exhausted, Cook started dropping balls. Cook had like twice as much work in a season, than anytime in his life. Reports are he has come back, much stronger and fitter. Somehow you think the Bills RB room is 20th??? Really, Really The Bills will play Bully Ball when they can this year like they did with Dallas last year!!
@@jessicatennis5318 James Cook isn't a doesn't have great running fundamentals tho. He's got subpar vision, and as TFG goes over, has major fumble issues.
@@1breadator Then how did he become the 4th leading rusher??? If you say the OL, That Franchise Guy, is telling you they were below par in run blocking!!! In the words of Dave Chappelle "Got you B**ch!"
Josh Allen can elevate an average supporting cast.Marquez Valdes-Scantling is going to get behind coverage with 4.3 speed, iffy hands.Allen has a cannon to take advantage.Khalil Shakir is more than a slot WR with 4.4 speed,YAC monster.Crazy how Curtis Samuel is viewed as a slot.Dude ran a 4.31 at the combine. The coaches have to draw up more plays downfield.Dalton Kincaid is on the cusp of being borderline elite.James Cook is a versatile RB.Buffalo has some good weapons, wouldn't shock me if they won the AFC East.
I’m a Bills fan so call me biased if you want but I’ll believe in the rest of the teams in the AFC East when I see it, the Jets I feel like get hype every year and they do nothing and plus their QB is coming off of a torn Achilles in his late 30s I feel like everyone forget that, and the dolphins can’t stop getting in their own way and they can never keep their form for a full season
A big thing that I notice from watching Josh Allen is he tends to throw a lot of “big balls” interceptions which I see as a positive as a fan So many QBs (Herbert, my second favorite QB for example seems to love throwing 4 down balls short of the first down)… i can’t confirm for sure but it seems like in late games when the Bills are kinda drawing dead (multiple scores down with 1 or 2 minutes left), Allen will just throw the ball deep just to try and make something happen which leads to more picks as well
I thought about this last year. I’m not completely against replacing Sean McDermott with Joe Brady and having Bobbie Babich be the DC. I don’t think it’ll happen because I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that happen. Hell I’ve also never seen what you suggested Sean if you could just step down and let Joe Brady Step up so we don’t risk losing him that’d be great. I don’t think it will happen, but I wouldn’t be against it. It really doesn’t happen the other way around. It’s hard to have offensive consistency when you’re constantly having your coaches plucked away unless your head coach is the offensive mastermind. Defensive coaches they tend to float around and you can get them back plus if you have an older guy he’s not gonna wanna leave and they don’t really tend to get head coach opportunities. Look at Spags, he is never gonna leave Andy Reid that coaching team is not really ever changing. unfortunately with how we are set up every time we have a good offensive mind they’re gonna go
Hey Marcus great job as always and it was awesome to see my suggestion of the yellow arrow added into the series. Another suggestion I had is adding some sort of star or perhaps border on pivotal players to easily distinguish their importance. Keep up the good work
I’ve watched every play for the bills for 25 years, this analysis couldn’t be more spot on in every regard. Josh is a first ballot HOF quarterback who has had a mediocre cast (Diggs was absent in every playoff game) and coaching staff (don’t get me started on 13 seconds). This season is absolutely a cap clearing reset year and hopefully the chance to move on from McDermott finally presents itself. Go bills

Can't agree with the ranking at face value given my biases, but I have to respect it upon further watching. I do agree with you 100% during the HC segment. I couldn't even imagine just how good we'd be each year if we had someone like Sean Payton or McVay or Reid coaching Allen every year. It really does feel like we're just the AFC version of the Rodgers-led Packers or the Rivers-led Chargers year in and year out with McDermott - the only difference being at least Rodgers was able to win himself a ring when it was all said and done, he was able to win himself MVP's and he really was at a bunch of separate points possibly the BEST QB to ever play from a skill perspective. Allen really should have far more on his resume than he does currently, and his talent does not reflect this unfortunate reality whatsoever. At any other point in NFL history, he'd be winning championships, MVP's, making first teams, OPOY's, All-Decade teams, so much more. Barry Mccockiner made a brutal point about how essentially Allen is to Mahomes what Vegeta is to Goku. I know deep down it's all because of McDermott and I know that we will never get over the hump with a defensive minded coach like him coaching Allen. Allen is at his best when he has the ball in his hands. You can't take the ball out of at worst a top 3 QB and watch as your 36.5 PPG allowing defense gives up score after score. It is maddening. The Bills have long since outgrown what is currently the floor for this team; It is a expectation to make the playoffs, to win the division, double digit games, at least one round. What we need is to push it even higher. We need to be making, winning conference championships, we need to be winning rings, getting over on our rivals. We can't be content with just being a perennial play-off entry each year waiting for other teams to slip, that's the easiest way to never get over the hump. We need to control our destiny at every step of the way. I wish the retool season came sooner but I'm glad it's here. I just wish we could've fired McDermott. We honestly should've fired him in 2020 and definitely after 2021. It will always sting seeing Daboll on the Giants, seeing their staff model themselves after the Bills so much. He could've been ours; he should've been ours; he WAS ours. Oh well.
46:30- F=M*A but you have use KG not lbs his mass is 86KG and if he moves 1m/s then his force is 86N so you are right in that sense if he smaller bit moving fast he still make plays and affect bigger players due his mass
There's no way i could put a team with Josh Allen at QB below a team with 'Deshaun Watson' at QB. Surrounding cast is irrelevant to me when the gap between those players floor in 2024 is that big. Look forward to watching
Mcdermott is easily in the top tier of defensive minds in the NFL. His scheme was ahead of it’s time, and his ability to coach up obscure, back bench players into capable starters is nearly unmatched. The Bills are going to surprise you this season.
I do like these guys in this O, this offense does stem from the Belichik tree that ran the Erhardt-Perkins style offense. They were known for switching up their concepts basically every week to do exploit that week’s opponent as much as possible. This offense carried Brady to the heights he’s reached (yes Tom, the QB). There is a ton of overlapping skill set (whether primary or secondary skill sets for these guys) but I’m not as worried bc it will probably be a pretty large rotation
Just wanted to tell you i started getting into football for real a year ago and you content especially helped me a lot to appreciate the game more, love from France marcus keep it up
The first time I looked at their schedule I immediately knew this season was gonna be tough for them with the number of changes they underwent. Would not be surprised at a 2-4 or even 1-5 start for them, and how brutal for their bye week to be sandwiched by games against the two conference champs from last season.
Unbelievable, Offensive line - 7th most rushing yards last year, fewest sacks!!!! The right side of the line will be impressive if they stay healthy. Only question will be if they keep 9 or 10 OL on the roster. You do not even have Alec Anderson on your board, he will be the primary back-up center, and the 6th lineman when the Bills get in a heavy formation. Van Demark will be the swing Tackle and replacement for Spencer Brown if the Bills can not come to term with him for next season. Van Pran will be a backup guard IMO, then the Bills will need to decide if they keep 1 or 2 more O-Linemen. Beyond the top 8, the Bills will decide.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels like Buffalo missed it's time! I know Diggs was a pain in the ass, but something tells me they'll really miss him!
The way they constructed their WR room this year really makes me question why they basically gave Xavier Worthy to the Chiefs. Even if that wasn’t “their guy”, it just made so much more sense fit wise than getting yet another slot WR
Didnt even mention gable Stevenson bro is a Olympic wrestling 6,1 265 like he has to have some kind of potential like bro is a beast wrestler gotta be worth mention the Olympic athlete on the team !!!
Hardcore bills fan here and I think you did a good job of this. I’m obviously higher up on them this year as I’ve been paying closer attention to training camp but overall your points are balanced and make sense.
I like your content, I've been a fan of yours for a minute and listen to all of these to get insight into other players I'll use for DFS or gambling! I'm a Redskins fan (Commander's) & I'm pissed you have us at 32. & the Bills are going to do great this season. This is the first year I've really questioned alot of your choices.
Oh wow, did not expect the Bills this early! Their weapons are pretty terrible and their defense has aged out to be fair, but definitely did not expect this this early!
Wow, I was really exited about Buffalo this year despite all the changes this year. This video throws a wrench into my excitement a little bit NGL. Not THAT surprised by the placement, I just have a hard time believing some of these teams with better rosters but much worse quarterbacks like the Browns and Dolphins doing better. Like yeah, Tyreek and Waddle are very scary considering how middling our DB coverage is, but I just dont see Tua maximizing that recieving talent when it matters. Idk, i'm probably just coping 😂
Dline Starters are all there from last year with Von coming back to full strength.... With White not playing the CB starters are all there... Milano coming back upgrades the LBs... Safeties not worried got younger...
His disdain for Sean McDermott is ridiculous. He’s going nowhere. The Bills missed the playoffs almost 20 years in a row. Now they make the playoffs every year. Sign me up for that.
Marcus, I hope the only reason you said Ray wasn’t really brought in for receiving chops is because we already have James Cook, which might not even make the most sense because at times James has been known to have the occasional drop. Ray Davis was very good as a receiving back in college, do not discount his threat as a receiver
As a fan of the bills, I get it. There's a significant depletion of talent at a lot of places on this roster and the weapons have a lot of question marks, as do several positions on the defense. I think it's pretty crazy to say that if you follow the rankings as they are, the second or third best quarterback in the league should be expected to miss the playoffs. I get it, these are ranges and this is based on their floor not their ceiling, but I don't think that the floor of the Buffalo Bills is outside of the playoffs. I just cannot see that universe. We'll just have to see.
I understand if his second year in the league you wanna hold off on giving Dalton the stud mark, but Khalil Shakir has earned it man. On less targets and receptions he outperformed Stefon Diggs last year. He catches everything. And he has some of the craziest run after catch touchdowns you’ll ever see.
The doubt on my team this year is very understandable. I still have high expectations and hope (or perhaps it's hopium lol). Thanks for the thorough breakdown!
I understand how your formula spits out 14th for the Bills, because it really is Josh Allen + a bunch of randoms on offense. I just wonder if there should be some sort of special bonus for the truly elite QBs where they take up a larger % of the grade, because we know Allen, Mahomes and Lamar can carry an entire team almost single-handedly.
As a Bills fan I wanted us to acquire Darnell Mooney so bad, I feel like it would have been a perfect pairing with Josh and fit in this group of receivers
Hyde and Poyer didn’t play very well last season, that’s partly why they were let go. In fact, Hyde is still available in free agency, they just don’t care to sign him right now. They might pick him up partway through the year if they stay injured, but he’s proven to not be the player he once was. Same with the WRs. Sherfield and Harty were failed experiments, Davis was never really good to begin with, and a clearly aging Diggs who didn’t lead the team in catches, yards, or touchdowns in the latter half of the season despite being the most targeted on the team. When they went on their season ending win streak, they rode James Cook, Shakir, and Kincaid, all of whom are still with the team. I think the team’s losses are blown way out of proportion, but if your main argument against them is Sean McDermott then I can’t really disagree with that. Buffalo’s defense in the last 5 seasons has statistically been worse in playoff elimination games than any other team in NFL history over any 5 year span.
Bro has been massively underrating the Bills repeatedly and keeps getting burned by that bum take. He’s sticking with it again though 😂. He’s hoping the broken clock will eventually be right 🎉. Not this year boy, start plucking that crow 😂
-McDermott makes a top 10 defense out of average-at-best/injured roster and the bills win a lot a games -Marcus: If he can get this defensive roster to play really well and the Bills win 11 games maybe next year I'll give McDermott a little more respect as a head coach -Repeat
I get it speed translates to power but you cant use F=ma here. "power" in football terms is force exerted onto opponent, not accelerating your own body. momentum would best explain it.
I will say because it is a skill that exists in wrestling Gable Steveson can actually be elite at shedding blocks day one, he'll just need to work on timing and instincts, he's also has better stamina than maxx crosby but he'll have to learn to play football, his locker is next to von millers tho so hopefully the best mentor in the nfl can churn out one more
You know... I think the Bills roster is incredibly mid. I completely agree with your whole breakdown. I dont understand how they are in the AFCCG game with this roster. Their floor was incredibly high, like you said. Their dline was shockingly solid all year. The offense put up a ton of points with very few weapons. Even adding Cooper didn't pay huge dividends like I thought it would. Its all a huge head scratcher but just goes to show how well the Bills coaching staff and Front Office is
Haha, I'm talking about highly specialized blitz looks with a high percentage chance of scheming him open to get to the QB. Similar to a blitzing Linebacker.
Yup I agree Von Miller can still be the most elite back up edge he still has moments and in 15 snaps you can easily have an elite guy for the role but still can’t believe they paid him the way they did 😬 you can say you can’t predict injuries but there’s a reason dudes 32+ don’t get that kind of contract either injuries or natural regression 9.9/10 times
It was insane the night and day difference when they made that change at oc and I do agree they need a new hc the defense sells in the playoffs it’s actually insane in clutch moments they get wreaked. I hope Josh Allen can get a ring this year. I remember watching a bills game this man Josh Allen on 3rd down runs the ball I think at 3rd and 10 and somehow gets the first down bro is an elite rushing QB and guess what he never gets injured like some(Lamar Jackson). What’s new the bills giving stars to the chiefs 😂

Josh should be in the Elite tier and a higher overall. He really is superman. Mahomes is better but still.
Not upgrading the QB room after the Bills got, not just an NVP Quarterback, but the OG NVP is mad disrespect 😤

Bills routinely have a pretty good defense so a bottom 10 defense would be surprising.
He would claim the coaching elevates weaker pieces.
@@donaldjgumpofficial5754 He had the Bills ranked 17th in defense last year and best I can tell they finished 3rd in PPG defense, 8th in yards per game defense and they weren't all that healthy IIRC.
Compared to last year the league seems far more competitive with good teams, especially with the Bills at #14. Gonna be a wild season!
I would imagine that losing Matt Milano is gonna really hurt that bills Defense ranking
Josh Allen is still a beast, and have a high floor because of him.
cant wait till they win the division again and people walk back on these takes just like they did last year
Balls? Everyone is saying this besides Bills fans.
Hard to say a team has taken a step back before the season has actually started.
Josh Allen is the main reason the bills run ball so effectively not their backfield
@@Jcd5596 James Cook was 4th in RUSHING yards!!!!!!!
Excellent Post
I refreshed RUclips like 20 times today, let’s gooooooo!!
A big thing that I notice from watching Josh Allen is he tends to throw a lot of “big balls” interceptions which I see as a positive as a fan
So many QBs (Herbert, my second favorite QB for example seems to love throwing 4 down balls short of the first down)… i can’t confirm for sure but it seems like in late games when the Bills are kinda drawing dead (multiple scores down with 1 or 2 minutes left), Allen will just throw the ball deep just to try and make something happen which leads to more picks as well
I get the unproven talent but I’d be very surprised if they were worse than both the Jets and the Dolphins. Especially the Dolphins.
“I just don’t want to talk about Mitchell Trubisky” 😂
Overall, as a head coach, I give Sean McDermott a 9
Out of 11
Damn 😂
I called this on your Twitter post! I'm not shocked and I agree with the ranking
When you tweeted it was gonna be spicy, I immediately thought the bills. They got a lot to prove this year
I thought about this last year.

Oh well.
Well said!
46:30- F=M*A but you have use KG not lbs his mass is 86KG and if he moves 1m/s then his force is 86N so you are right in that sense if he smaller bit moving fast he still make plays and affect bigger players due his mass

loving these deep dives man, it’s so interesting to learn about teams other than my favorite
There's no way i could put a team with Josh Allen at QB below a team with 'Deshaun Watson' at QB. Surrounding cast is irrelevant to me when the gap between those players floor in 2024 is that big. Look forward to watching
I look forwards to Deshaun proving you wrong
It’s not like the browns need Watson to be Josh Allen level in order to to win tho, the bills do

the bills had the same record as said team last year with joe flacco at qb and now lose their number one receiver

Great video again, I had an idea what if for your up arrows you used the colour code to say what a players max potential is
Just wanted to tell you i started getting into football for real a year ago and you content especially helped me a lot to appreciate the game more, love from France marcus keep it up
As a Bills fan our over under being 10.5 feels wild tbh, 10 wins would feel like a real accomplishment with where this roster is currently at
I am interested see what Keon Coleman does he has qb who can throw him ball good even if he can’t separate
I’m a bills fan but Allen is the big reason there were so few sacks
About Mike Edwards - he did start for the second half of the season for the chiefs and performed admirably in my opinion
I remember that one game where the bills got like 300 yards on the ground and James cook was definitely pushing the pile on a lot of those runs.
Mic sounds soooooo much better, white balance is on point too! I really appreciate how receptive you are to comments, Marcus 🤟
So glad to hear that 🙏
Been working at it.
Me and my brother made a bet of whether or not Josh Allen makes the Playoffs this year. He thinks he won't because Diggs isnt there
Josh allen doesnt make the playoffs the Bills do.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels like Buffalo missed it's time! I know Diggs was a pain in the ass, but something tells me they'll really miss him!
No we won’t, trust me
When does it stop being an advantage to have a “creative offensive “ head coach when over fifty percent of the league employs such a strategy?
The way they constructed their WR room this year really makes me question why they basically gave Xavier Worthy to the Chiefs. Even if that wasn’t “their guy”, it just made so much more sense fit wise than getting yet another slot WR
Didnt even mention gable Stevenson bro is a Olympic wrestling 6,1 265 like he has to have some kind of potential like bro is a beast wrestler gotta be worth mention the Olympic athlete on the team !!!
I understand the questions and hesitation but this vid gonna age like milk
It’s confirmed that Marcus dips his wings in ranch 😤😤

I'm a Redskins fan (Commander's) & I'm pissed you have us at 32. & the Bills are going to do great this season. This is the first year I've really questioned alot of your choices.
Oh wow, did not expect the Bills this early! Their weapons are pretty terrible and their defense has aged out to be fair, but definitely did not expect this this early!
You just explained why they should be this early
I tried to tell you about Khalil Shakir. He was limited with an ankle Injury and the 4.4 was more indicative of his explosiveness than his film
Should've put "overall star power" in the weakness section. Of course that excludes Allen
Respect. No comment. I respect it.
one thing that i think is noteworthy is Samuels best year came when Joe Brady was in Carolina
That’s not saying a lot as he had t had a real good career!!
Josh allen is absolutely in the elite tier cmon now he should be a 95
If you watch the Cowboys episode, I just revamped the way I list the QBs and Allen would be Purple coded now 👍
@@ThatFranchiseGuy ur da man
holy again very much underrating christian benford last year. his coverage grades are shockingly good
They were 7th in rushing ypg and 8th yards per carry, last year.
As a Bills fan I wanted us to acquire Darnell Mooney so bad, I feel like it would have been a perfect pairing with Josh and fit in this group of receivers
Andy Isabella, Chase Claypool, KJ Hamler this is literally my madden franchise team😂
Happy as a dolphin fan 😎😎😎😎 but shocked jets above them as well
Bro has been massively underrating the Bills repeatedly and keeps getting burned by that bum take. He’s sticking with it again though 😂. He’s hoping the broken clock will eventually be right 🎉. Not this year boy, start plucking that crow 😂
Super surprising that he didnt even mention the Gable Steveson signing especially considering Marcus lived in Minnesota during Steveson’s dominance
-McDermott makes a top 10 defense out of average-at-best/injured roster and the bills win a lot a games
-Marcus: If he can get this defensive roster to play really well and the Bills win 11 games maybe next year I'll give McDermott a little more respect as a head coach
-Repeat
I get it speed translates to power but you cant use F=ma here. "power" in football terms is force exerted onto opponent, not accelerating your own body. momentum would best explain it.
Honestly after going through the roster I’m surprised they aren’t even lower.
Joe Brady was NOT the OC at LSU. He was the assistant to the OC and passing game coordinator. He didn’t call plays.
Its all a huge head scratcher but just goes to show how well the Bills coaching staff and Front Office is
Love the series!! Bro you said Javon Solomon could give you 10-12 pressures on 35 snaps???! That would make him Micah Parsons!
Haha, I'm talking about highly specialized blitz looks with a high percentage chance of scheming him open to get to the QB. Similar to a blitzing Linebacker.
What is the different arrow on von miller mean?
45:00 ayo pause?
