She is otherworldly. It's a pity what they do to her studio recordings. This is so simple, glimmering and magnificent. There's no reason to over-produce Lisa Hannigan.

The album version of this song is fantastic though. Better than this live acoustic version and I definitely don't think it's over produced.

"cut from the kill".... is kill used in this instance an "old" word do you know? What does that word mean (I know the common definition of kill)?
I made peace with this sentence by looking at it literally. If you are under a pile of rubble you may be killed, you will be a victim. But somehow she was dug from it, therefore she is going to survive. It may be a metaphor for her troubled relationship with Damien.
