- Located at Hamilton's John C. Munro International Airport, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum houses a collection of around 50 aircraft, many of which are still flying regularly. Each summer, CWHM sells tickets on their flying collection, ranging in price from $250 (Noorduyn Norseman) to $3900 (Avro Lancaster). This August, I decided to book a flight on their Douglas C-47 Dakota (military DC-3). The flight was 50 minutes (to Niagara Falls and back) and cost $350. Enjoy!

Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. I was just at the museum two weeks ago. I got to see the Lancaster fly! What an awesome aircraft!
wow,,,Is it 80 years old? Amazing. It seems like it would be hard to maintain, but when you watch the video, you can see that the interior is also beautifully maintained.👍
@@HORISBOX yup, it's 81 years old but it's been refurbished many times (it was used by the government after it was done in the air force)
Does the aircraft have retrofitted turboprop engines?
@mechcntr7185
No sir. The Lancaster still uses Four 12 cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. 1650 Cubic Inches producing up to 1800 horsepower!
V-12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.
*the C-47 has two P&W R-1830 Twin Wasps
@@normanfelger4332 I am pretty sure the subject aircraft here is a C-47 (DC-3)
