- A guided time with God through prayer and reflection on Scripture. In this episode you will hear Paul’s words to Timothy, a young leader, about God’s Spirit that does not bring fear, but power, love, and a sound mind. Spend some prayerful time with each of these words, letting God speak into them and giving you a chance to ask for His help.

I bind my mind not to be distracted by the devil but be put into action to act and be productive doing my duties and studies, binding to hell being unequally yoked with and have any common share with those putting my mind to focus on the devil and not on my duties and studies, in accordance with this word and 2 timothy 1:7, 1 peter 1:13, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

What if I'm tense about something that just went completely wrong and that's what's making my mind spin in circles. The effects could still be relevant, and I'd like to address them. I should just forget about it? That just gets me more anxious
So sorry to hear that things have been going wrong. How can I be praying for you?
And in regards to your question. Being a person not of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind is not about pretending like you don't have problems, it's not about just "positive thinking". You're right, burying that stuff can make me just more anxious!
Instead, it's realizing that worry does nothing to help you, even in difficult times. Jesus says "who, by worrying will add a single moment to his life?" (Matthew 6). In fact, there are loads of scientific studies that show that worry builds unhealthy stress, which makes things worse (decision-making, physical health, etc.). The way to combat worry is by offering the things outside your control over to Jesus, remembering all the ways He HAS provided for you, then asking for His help in your current struggles. It also means turning to your small group or Christian friends to help you as well through the difficulty.
@@brandonbathauer4316 Ok thank you so much. That's really helpful. I suppose the issue has been letting smaller problems spiral into a mess of worries that really only get in the way. Going forward, I will prioritize staying focused on the right things.
