The Ryhope Engines Museum in Sunderland, UK, is a preserved Victorian water pumping station, originally built in 1868.
It features two working beam engines, which were used to pump water for the city's supply until the site was decommissioned in 1967. The museum showcases Victorian engineering, including a 100-foot chimney, an underground reservoir, and a blacksmith's workshop, all essential to its steam-powered operations.
Opened as a museum in 1978, it offers visitors a glimpse into the history of water management and industrial heritage, with live engine demonstrations during special events.
