I’m beyond excited to share my latest exhibition, "Dulce Engaño" (Sweet Deception), curated by the amazing Andrea García Casal!
Running from July 5th to July 27th and proudly sponsored by the City Council of El Puerto de Santa Maria, "Sweet Deception" takes a critical look at modern dietary habits and the fine line between healthy and unhealthy. Through the universal appeal of sugar, I explore the complexities of contemporary food culture and its profound impact on our behavior, mental health, and overall well-being.
🍭 This exhibition uses a vibrant palette to delve into themes of nutrition, artificial enhancements, and the psychological effects of color and sugar in our diets. My artworks challenge you to reconsider what is visually enticing versus nutritionally beneficial.
📸 "Dulce Engaño" features twenty captivating digital images across five vibrant series, highlighting the seductive allure of brightly colored foods, particularly sweets, often devoid of real nutritional value.
The World Health Organization recommends keeping free sugar intake below 5% of daily calories, yet our modern diets often surpass this due to added sugars and processed foods. "Dulce Engaño" juxtaposes candy with unexpected elements like insects and toys, prompting you to reflect on what we consider edible and delicious versus inedible and unappealing.
