So very sharp and elegant I’m glad it’s been kept in original factory condition as should be I hope whoever buys this fine car continues to take care of it and keep it original as it was when it rolled off the assembly line
Had one in blue on blue with a navy vinyl roof. Such a great car! I bought it in early 1981.Beyond daily driving, I took it from Calgary to Vancouver and back - all mountains, all the way - must of been nearly 40 times! Those are very hard miles and this beastie just floated through the whole trip! Great to see one still serving its master! Peace
My Grandparents had a 1976 Chevy Caprice with a 350. They bought it when it was only like 1 year old. They drove it as their main car around the United States for 32 years and then traded it off in 2009. It got 17 mpg. I'm sure they went through a couple engines and transmissions over the years, but it was a reliable car for going on cross country trips.
American cars have not always had the best quality during the 70's but these Caprice Chevrolets and its sister cars were surprising reliable and lasted a long time. You might need an alternator or water pump here and there but the engines and especially the transmissions were solid work horses.
Thanks. I have another video posted of it running. I'm going to try to keep posting every now and then as I restore it. New to You Tube posting videos, so please bare with me.😁
I have one other video posted. I think if you search "1976 caprice classic original miles" it should come up. The thumbnail will show the hood up. I hope to have another video posted soon, of just some odd and ends. I need to do one of.the interior too.
My Grandparents had the 1976 light green colored one that they bought when it was only like one year old and drove it as their newest car until they finally traded it off in 2009.
If those are original tires than you might want to buy some new ones. Treadwear isnt the only thing that makes tires dangerous. Age will cause the sidewalls to dry and crack leading to a blowout. That's why tires have dates stamped on them.
in canada, the caprice classic in canada, would have been called a pontiac parisienne brougham, pontiacs, were chevy bodies, with chevy dashboard, and chevy motors built in oshawa, ont. the lower priced impala, was parisienne, and the bel air, (canada), was a laurentian.
Wrong. Chevy made cars for the Canadian market. A Canadian Chevy Caprice is still a Chevy Caprice. Pontiac had it’s own full-size line. Yes, some different model names and availability, but a Canadian 1976 Chevy Caprice isn’t by default a 1976 Pontiac just because it’s Canadian lol...
That is really interesting and cool to know. Here and there we will see a very familiar car in the States with a strange name and it is mind bending. WTF? :O)

I've always loved the big cars.

Good shaping
I'm amazed this body was still made in '76. I thought it ended earlier than this.
76 was the last year for this style
This car is so clean l'd remember to learn to drive in this car in high school.
Beautiful color

Never driven a day in its life with that mileage. Nice classic you have there.

They will be replaced for sure.
I wonder why the top of the line Chevy didn't get the plush interior like the other big GM cars.

No currently have the engine bay torn down, and ready to paint.
Still got it?
Still got it, currently have it apart. Hopefully by the fall I will have the engine bey painted and the engine back in.
@@jetttdi I would like it some day 😃🥹
Only thing missing are the rear wheel skirts

Do you want to sale it

Caprice Classic Sport ??? What do you mean by sport ???
To be honest I'm not sure what makes it a sport. I have not done a lot of research. The original build sheet list it as a sport.
Sport designated the hardtop version as opposed to the sedan
Show 5 minutes on the right side but won't show the engine, hmmmmm
Check out my other video of starting it.
Beautiful Car, except...it's a 4 door.
It originally had 0
Terrible/gutless SMOG motors.
boring!!!
