Brother, this old, disabled man started golfing a couple years ago as a poor ball-striking range rat and actually started playing for earnest this past year. I am now a bogey golfer and I actually shot a 39 for 9 with only 4 clubs ( 7 and 9 i, PW and putter ) last August because I employed 'the way of the playa' philosophy to my game. I now carry 7 clubs max and even though winter is settling in and the weather turning into crap cakes here, I look forward to next season. Thank you, Matt!
Living for these videos 😂 Helped me drop from an 18 handicap to around 9 in 6 months. A lot of us have no choice but to hit driver on a lot of parkland courses especially with the weather and little roll out. Already had a few guesses but I’m going with a 1.8 handicap for the end of your trip
Love your videos. I watch them just to meditate on the calming delivery. I did myself a huge favor and quit watching golf. I just care about playing it, not buying gear and trying to smash everything all of the time. Thanks!
Completely different game when in with subscribers vs getting to play my way. This round fixed a lot of stuff. Gets a lot better after this because of this rounf
Yeah they split the 18 holes that was originally there into 9 and 9 i think. So lundin got 9 and leven got 9 original holes. Then they built their own new 9 holes to fill up 18. They still play the mcdonald trophy or something there over only the original 18 holes laid out by tom morris
Just shot my personal best 76 on probably the last outting of the year North East America (~10 HC) my avg score was 87 on the year. Love the vids. Driver is my greatest strength when it’s on, but on holes it doesn’t make sense or I’m not comfortable I love the 5i off the tee. Keep up the good work.
Love your videos, and Ive watched them all. Ive noticed that you play POSITION GOLF, but more importantly, youre a fantastic putter. Youve said you sometimes have trouble seeing the line, but your distance control is SWEET!! Keep the vids coming as I look for them everyday. Maybe one day you'll vacation at PINEHURST. Would love to show you some of the best public courses in the area!!!
This last video is a pleasure. The pace with the putter is amazing. Your maximum handicap at this time won't be higher than 3.4. On the 6 last course, you should shave some stroke. 2.3 easy at the end of the trip maybe 1.5. And this is awesome 'cause you don't know any courses ! Waddaplay !
Although the first puts did not the luck it received ... but it was so steady close for so many tap-ins. Awesome and ... game seemed pretty stress free. Coolio. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
This video and the one on hacking has encapsulated for me the breaking 80 and strokes shaved info I’ve been studying for the past month or so. FANTASTIC Matt. Thanks so much!!!!⛳️⛳️⛳️😍😍😍
Finishing the round with the same ball I started with is always a good metric for how I played. And even a mediocre score feels better if I didn't have to look for a ball.
I play as a single a lot. It always bugs me when a group rides up on me. I will find myself rushing and then waiting on the next shot. even though it is the group somewhere in front of me slowing things down and not me.
What a great series Matty boom boom. You have the patience of a saint. I would seriously struggle with accepting bogey on the tee box. I would be thinking shot shape to keep me out of trouble. Tee it low and play a little fade fairway finder, for example. But that is me with my own golf neurosis. Guess for handicap, scratch playa.
My wife tells me all the time. Play YOUR speed...as long as you aren't spending 10 min looking for balls or talking when you're open....they can piss off. You paid the same price as they did. I'm fine with people playing thru...thanks for you vids....they've been extremely helpful to me.
Hey Matt, 9 handicap here with just a suggestion for YOU for driver. You hit your irons well (and far) with quite a lot of lag. When hitting driver, because the club is longer, you might need to let it catch up to the hands earlier in the downswing. Just wonder if you have ever worked on that..
No it would be higher. because you lose balls in the gorse. It’s worse than a water hazard because it’s a lost ball and you have to hit from where you last hit with as penalty shot.
Got a chuckle out of the electrotrolley scooting up to your ball as if by magic, or otherwise pushed by The Invisible Playa!😂 You have all the cool toys!
Hey Matty Cakes, long time no chat or comments, blame me for that! But I will partially blame you, and you'll gladly take this blame! I love the series as you know, and the whole WOTP. I have for years now. This year, it REALLY clicked. Playing smart, not listening to shizen talk from your buddies ("4 iron on a par 5 off the tee?), not being a hero, playing the hole backwards, GIOTG, etc. I still watch all your videos don't get me wrong, but comment less cuz you made me a playa, and for that I thank you kind sir/Lithuanian boyfriend! 🤗
Hole 11 was brilliant. If you were playing a competitive round and made that stress free par without a driver and putting from 30+ yards you would drive your competitors crazy because they just doubled after losing their second shot to a bunker or the long grass. I have to remember the WOTP more often.
Getting older. Losing distance quicker than I like…but some of your playa tips have really helped adjust my thinking . Distance is not necessarily the key…🏌🏿♂️⛳️😎🇺🇸👍
Matty boom boom, I have a question. How much does the wind in your 11:39 putt come into play. I see it's heavy, but it's still a rolling ball, do you factor wind at all in this situation?
Yeah the wind affects the ball on the putts a lot. Especially as the ball loses speed. Sometimes the wind can negate the slope if it’s blowing in the opposite direction. Sometimes a flat putt can feel uphill cos the wind us into you
I liked that mulligan pitch to the lip… I usually do that too… I chip one and pitch one… most of the time I chip well with confidence but the pitch feels more natural and gets closer. 🏌️♂️
I got a kick out of your technique of putting with the flag propped against your side! You've said it time and again, but this video makes clear that the Way Of The Playa is all about the short game. Setting up your approach/chip and lagging the putts close keeps the big numbers off the card. You approach the course like an engineer, knowing your game, looking at what the hold has to offer, and optimizing your shots to give yourself the best opportunities. Thinking makes the game simpler... then it's just a matter of execution.
Matt, you cracked me up when you said is a the traffic coming from and then you said don’t they know who I am? 😂😂😂😂😂 By the way how are you liking your motorized cart? What make an model is it?

You're the man !!

2i brother, way of the playa
Great advice Matt. Your videos changed me from a gorilla, always hitting for the perfect huge shot to a boring golfer. I love it, thank you
Redundant driver = cerebral golf. Gr8 chipping options displayed too. Looked like fun, a great way to enjoy a course.
Love your videos. I watch them just to meditate on the calming delivery. I did myself a huge favor and quit watching golf. I just care about playing it, not buying gear and trying to smash everything all of the time. Thanks!
Something i love about your videos is that you're showing us how to "play and have fun". Thanks for a "normal" guy guide to success.
I think you described me perfectly when you say stop worrying about the length of the course. That's exactly what's on my mind for my tee and second.
Great series! I've watched all of them and check several times a day for new videos!
It is actually insane how much smoother your swing looks compared to all the other scotland videos!
Completely different game when in with subscribers vs getting to play my way. This round fixed a lot of stuff. Gets a lot better after this because of this rounf
Nice to see the old smooth swing again!
Played this course while I was in Scotland this past July. Loved it. Not true links the whole time but made for a really fun and unique round
Yeah they split the 18 holes that was originally there into 9 and 9 i think. So lundin got 9 and leven got 9 original holes. Then they built their own new 9 holes to fill up 18. They still play the mcdonald trophy or something there over only the original 18 holes laid out by tom morris
Thanks for adding the course info! Me and my friends are digging this content!

Good to see you made it onto Lundin. Now I have first hand knowledge of how to play the course properly!!
"The joy of missing out"! Another lexiconic masterpiece
This is the first of your Scotland series that you seem yourself in swing tempo. Good job mate. I stand by 1.5
This last video is a pleasure. The pace with the putter is amazing. Your maximum handicap at this time won't be higher than 3.4. On the 6 last course, you should shave some stroke. 2.3 easy at the end of the trip maybe 1.5. And this is awesome 'cause you don't know any courses ! Waddaplay !
The most relaxed golf swing on RUclips
Although the first puts did not the luck it received ... but it was so steady close for so many tap-ins. Awesome and ... game seemed pretty stress free. Coolio. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

Love your work Matty, learning the way of the Playa. Your comforting positivity is so infectious. ❤
These videos have really helped my mindset
Your conntent has helped me play better golf!
Hole 13 would be my worst nightmare... Par 5 with a highway on the right, just waiting for an almighty slice to hit a car 😅
Finishing the round with the same ball I started with is always a good metric for how I played. And even a mediocre score feels better if I didn't have to look for a ball.
10000% under estimated power of not looking for balls like a hack
Love the two guys at 2:50 just watching the ball after you hit
Probably no idea they were watching the Baus. 😁
I play as a single a lot. It always bugs me when a group rides up on me. I will find myself rushing and then waiting on the next shot. even though it is the group somewhere in front of me slowing things down and not me.
Played lundin 2 months ago. Probably 1 of the most fun courses in scotland!!
What a great series Matty boom boom. You have the patience of a saint. I would seriously struggle with accepting bogey on the tee box. I would be thinking shot shape to keep me out of trouble. that hole, 99% of golfers not making par no matter how much they try into a 2.5 club wind
Great videos Matt. Did you notice that most of your putts are issued on the right side? Enjoy and continue to feed us with your great shots
Nice round, your swing looks much better!
No more swinging out of your shoes, playing smart golf.
well, maybe those shots on 15...
You took a day trip to Tempo Town! Smooth.
The swing is smooth, fluid and very stress free looking. Whataswinger!
Playing like a boss there Matt, nice work.
Great to see you playing Lundin Links, one of my favourite local courses. I definitely play it like a hacker!
My wife tells me all the time. Play YOUR speed...as long as you aren't spending 10 min looking for balls or talking when you're open....they can piss off. You paid the same price as they did. I'm fine with people playing thru...thanks for you vids....they've been extremely helpful to me.

Looking smooth Matty boy🎉
Needed that one!
A gorgeous, stress-free round.
Lovely tempo today Matty and nice chilled attitude 👍🏌️♂️🏴
Really enjoyed watching this. My god you make golf look so simple and enjoyable
Proper chilled golf. Love it 👍
Great series so far! It would be cool to see the slash and gash strategery too. Just bomb it and try and recover. Would the handicap be the same?
No it would be higher. because you lose balls in the gorse. It’s worse than a water hazard because it’s a lost ball and you have to hit from where you last hit with as penalty shot.
I got an ad whilst the tripod fell at 6:42 straight into a mattress/sleepwear commercial, made me laugh.
Great 75! What did you do with your golf trolley when you returned to Thailand? Thanks for the show.
What Takoma irons do you play and what is your thoughts on them,I'm seriously thinking about getting a set for myself,
Got a chuckle out of the electrotrolley scooting up to your ball as if by magic, or otherwise pushed by The Invisible Playa!😂 You have all the cool toys!
Olde Maren Morris put together some good golf courses. Nice round, the swing was looking like a smoothie.

Great swinging this round Matty...on another day with better luck with the putter you could have been par or better 🙌
Great vid, 4:30 sounds like a driver tho😂
When it comes to Golf: Best is playing golf. 2nd best is watching Matty boy play golf.

That 3i off the tee on 8 was a thing of beauty.
Handicap guess: 1.9
Great video Matty, new shoes? Look cool howd they feel? Brabd?
Just here to see if anyone else noticed the driver sound from a 3 iron on hole 8? Love the series. 0.3 hcp
Ah nvm.. just got to the part where he said the mic was off 😆 well edited, had me second guessing.
Getting older. Losing distance quicker than I like…but some of your playa tips have really helped adjust my thinking . Distance is not necessarily the key…🏌🏿♂️⛳️😎🇺🇸👍
Great video and advice 👍 love your way of looking after the game lol r&g
10:46… that’s the way of the playa
Beautiful tempo! Great score without making any putt! Your 3 and 4 irons goes as far as most people's driver though😁
Matty boom boom, I have a question. How much does the wind in your 11:39 putt come into play. I see it's heavy, but it's still a rolling ball, do you factor wind at all in this situation?

Lag putting like a boss.
My 3.2 guess isnt holding up... but the insight is priceless... Thanks Baus
Im not sure why but that outro song makes me happy
I liked that mulligan pitch to the lip… I usually do that too… I chip one and pitch one… most of the time I chip well with confidence but the pitch feels more natural and gets closer. 🏌️♂️
“Since cardi b”. Game is looking good my man
Lundin is one of the best courses of Scotland. And infinitely better value for money than kingsbarns etc
15:39. “Your only fans you simp” ??😂🤷🏻♂️
Kinda curious how frequent you were playing in Scotland. Like 3-4 times a week or more?
Almost every day
'Since Cardi B' 😂- yeah Matt, I saw it......
Great vid Matt keep um coming 0.4

Advanced level putting cheat code
1.7
Did you put driver audio over the 3 iron ? 4:32
Yes sir
The JOMO is real 🤣
I enjoy😂
Now thinking 1.3
Guess number 2 I’ll go with 1.3
Gosh Matty the 3i sure did sound like a driver on Hole #8 haha
6.3 boom boom
I thought you were going with some ASMR when your microphone wasn’t working. Playa and Chief aka Any Handicap Whisperer.
I'm going with 1.2 handi at completion.
Matt, you cracked me up when you said is a the traffic coming from and then you said don’t they know who I am? 😂😂😂😂😂 By the way how are you liking your motorized cart? What make an model is it?
And looking for balls can be strenuous for Old golfer like me. 😂
Reckon you'll make a 0.3
Peter Finch sent his goons after Matty 😮
Short game tidy as ever.
New handicap guess 0.9
they way youre going, 1.1 handicap
Booker T., best.
seriously how many pairs of shoes do you have on this trip ???!!!
Joy of lipping out.
Why do you stop your follow through on most shots?
At 15:30, what are the subliminal messages with the 45°chip? And why do I feel like grabbing a Coke right now?...
Tell that guy with the goofy bucket hat to quit walking in your putting line.
Blerrie moegoe manparas 😂😂😂 looking for balls 🥸
Sorry Brand?
Wait a minute. 4:30 is a 3i, why does it sound like you hit a driver?
